An idea
So i was lying here in bed, watching a documentary on Martin Luther King Jr. I was wondering, where is our Martin Luther King, where is our Lennon, where is our Ghandi, where is our rEVOLolutionary. And then it hit me, Ron Paul is the man that could make the most difference. Could change the system. I have been a supporter or Dr. Paul for a few months now and love watching his campaign grow. Anyways I digress.
As I was watching the documentary, I was thinking...how did King make such an impact? What can I do to help make that sort of impact? I thought of putting up signs over my campus, but that didnt really seem like enough. Then it hit me, get a huge group of Ron Paul supporters and hit DC. Sure the idea sounds good, but how is it possible? I'm not sure, I was just gonna write it off and fall asleep watching this documentary, but then something extraordinary happened. On came a piece entitled "The Big March on Washington" and it showed Martin Luther King marching up and down DC with a huge group. Is it fate? God? I don't know. What I do know is this, I had no idea that King had marched down Washington, my idea was completely separate and then that came on. Imagine the impact it would have. Imagine if we took that same march that King did, down Constitution avenue to the Lincoln Memorial. People would have to take notice.
I dont know how plausible this is. But if it were somehow possible, if we could get Paul supporters from all over the nation to make that walk. We just may be able to change the world.

Symbolically speaking
Although any big gathering of Ron Paul supporters would be a great thing, why not stay the heck out of D.C.? It's the home of massive, unconstitutional government, for crying out loud!
To me, marching down a street called "Constitution" in a town where that document is openly despised, to a memorial that honors a master politician and tyrant who started us down the road toward an all-powerful national government, does not send the proper message about the Ron Paul revolution.
Why not tell the world that we don't look to Washington for strength; we get it from free Americans in Philadelphia, Columbus, Atlanta, St. Louis, Albuquerque...
Yeah but...
In my humble opinion, we are dividing up our attention and our resources. We already have an event like this scheduled, sponsored, and ready to go! Its going to be held in Philly! The location of an event like this really has little to do with its overall outcome. However, if you it is important to you, what American city carries more history of the American story/revolution than Philly? I'm sorry guys, and I don't mean to be the spoiler or sound pessimistic, but we have got to start concentrating our efforts on things that are in the process of, or can be accomplished.
If you don't know about it, it will be held on November 10th. Visit the web-site here: http://philly.ronpaulrally.org/

You're not being a spoiler
You're being realistic. The Philly event is going to be the largest one to date. It would be nice if the event in Philly were broadcast somehow, so that people who were unable to attend could show it publicly in their cities. That way, everyone would feel like a part of it. Like a big screen presentation in NYC, LA, Austin, D.C., etc. The large rally in Philly, with satellite demonstrations in several major cities.
well
the way i see this going down is giving it enough time to grow. Probably a couple months so people can have enough time to save up if need be, and ask off work or what have you. So sometime in December, or early January before the primaries. That will also be the time where college kids will be on their Christmas break so hopefully they will be able to make the drive.
I guess if we can decide a date we can start posting it everywhere, letting everyone know. If King could get all those 200,000 people together without the internet, we should have no problem getting at least a few thousand. If there is a cause worthy, people will join. I can feel it in the air, the masses are begging for something to change. The people have had enough of being controlled by the media and having their liberties taken away under the guise of freedom.
ron paul for the long haul
Anything is possible if...
The man leading the cause is a man humble in his walk and readily able to profess his belief in God. Thank God that by supporting this fight for truth, justice and liberty, we are also spreading a message that He has blessed. MLK's daughter Bernice has said that her father was effective because he kept Christ at the center. Ron is a God-fearing man that carries himself as such, so let's keep praying and keep pushing. As long as we're fighting in God's corner, we're destined to succeed.
That's a good idea, if we
That's a good idea, if we can get enough people there.
I did NOT think of it first....
and truthfully I don't care who did....but I can say if "you" build it, I will come... I KNOW I will be at the Philly one, and DC is just a hop, skip, and a jump....
Anyone in DC that can make this happen????
Great Potential
This is another idea with great potential.
Right now I'm excited to see how the Nov. 10th rally in Phidelphia goes. Dr. Paul's message is spreading and the campaign is picking up steam as the support grows. Hopefully there will be a big presence.
A similar rally & march on D.C. could have an enormous impact if we could get a big enough crowd to come out. I have family in MD so I would definately come to the east coast for it.
...let the brainstorming begin...
