XM POTUS DIS-
So, at about 8:45 am yesterday, Thursday the 18th, on XM 130, Potus, the deep-voiced host had on a guest that fairly and excitedly announced that Ron paul was #1 and Obama #2 and McCain #3 in military fundraising. They then talked about military donations and how Obama and anti-war people led in military donations... Obama... Obama.... McCain....Obama... but never another mention of Ron Paul!
I for one sent a polite email complaint to : potus08@xmradio.com
Typo in that ad!
The paragraph after the Ronald Reagan quote says "He opposed a launching a..." The "a" after "opposed" is not needed and is bad grammar. Not sure how to contact the right people about this.

This is my ebay auction. The proceeds are going to Ron Paul 2008 early on 11-5.
Please make one (or more) auctions for the 11-5 day donation rally. If enough of us do this...well, 10 million might be more possible than you think.
Think about it, and do it.
Perhaps General Ricard Sanchez should be drafted to be Ron
Paul's vice-president
Ret. General Sanchez Media Take Down
Ricardo Sanchez, the retired commander of coalition
forces in Iraq from 2003 to 2004, made headlines last
Friday when he called the U.S. mission in Iraq “a
nightmare with no end in sight” and catastrophically
flawed. Those headlines were deserved but most of his
speech to the Military Reporters and Editors
Association consisted of a blistering attack on the
media. That part was - no surprise - largely ignored
in media accounts.
In his talk, General Sanchez accused reporters of
“unscrupulous reporting, solely focused on supporting
an agenda and preconceived notions of the U.S.
military.” He added that such press bias sometimes
“puts U.S. service members in deadly situations.”
“What is clear to me is that you are perpetuating the
corrosive partisan politics that is destroying our
country and killing our service members who are at
war. My assessment is that your profession, to some
extent, has strayed from these ethical standards and
allowed external agendas to manipulate what the
American public sees on TV, reads in newspapers and
what they see on the Web,” Mr. Sanchez said.
“For some of you, just like some of our politicians,
the truth is of little to no value if it does not fit
your own preconceived notions, biases and agendas.”
The audience of military reporters appeared stunned as
General Sanchez calmly laid out his indictment. He
concluded:
“We must ask ourselves - who is responsible for
maintaining the ethical standards of the profession in
order to ensure that our democracy does not continue
to be threatened by this dangerous shift away from
your sacred duty of public enlightenment?”
After an uncomfortable silence, punctuated by smatters
of applause, James Crawley, president of the Military
Reporters and Editors Association, thanked the general
for his “unvarnished” look at the media. But to the
extent the general has a point, how can we expect
change unless his remarks are heard in the media forest?
"ensure that our democracy does not"
Whoops. Nope, Gen. Sanchez flunks the Constitution test.

while it would have been nice if he'd said "republic"
I think Gen. Sanchez, like "our" many military donors, "gets" the US Constitution far-better than the average person does, sadly. He might be an interesting choice, too, as VP. I especially liked the way he raked the news media over the coals. They've been biased and nonprofessional for a long time, despite many complaints, as we're seeing in this campaign, come to think of it. Funny how the news media put an emphasis on all the *other* aspects of the General's speech...
Anyway, my dream VP is still Professor Williams, even though he says "no." In fact, if anything, saying "no" just makes him more-qualified IMO, but I'm weird that way. ;) I'd want Dr. Paul to ask him, first. I'm guessing this is a very tough decision for Dr. Paul, though, and I'm determined to be satisfied with anyone he picks (except Rudy G!).
I've seen government spending consistently-grow under Presidents & Vice-Presidents with "executive experience." I think it's time for someone with economics-101 experience, instead. Plus, Walter is guaranteed to eloquently piss the correct people off, which would be highly-amusing. :) He'd bring us a lot of conservative voters who "know" him from Limbaugh's show.
Anyway, my thanks to ALL the military donors for your service, and for your donation-dominance over other candidates. I'm psyched about seeing Dr. Paul in person tomorrow afternoon.

PS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXRpZimItG8 his Robert Taft Club appearance rocked. In fact, O'Reilly even whined about part 6, where Dr. Paul (IMO looking VERY Presidential) gently & politely put talking heads like Glen Beck & O'Reilly in their place. It was classic Ron Paul, followed by classic Vibrator-Factor (old joke alrert!) name calling (it's unpatriotic and you're "a pinhead" if you politely-mock O'Reilly! Who knew?). Anyway, it's my fondest hope that Steven Colbert somehow riffs on this one... Enjoy the whole thing, or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLpYpmwd66g jumps you to part 6.
wow
That's amazing, an article that isn't especially "in favor" of Dr. Paul, because it does have a large bit about Obama and McCain...but still so very positive. I don't know if I've seen that before.
you don't know if you've seen that before

A quick note of thanks
Mr. Davis,
Thanks for your piece on Ron Paul leading in Military donations (Oct. 18, 2007). I applaud the Houston Chronicle for picking up on the significance of this story -- seems even the soldiers are tired of this expensive, seemingly senseless war.
It was only through the internet that I learned that there were many like me who opposed the war and supported limited government and fiscal responsibility. A life-long Democrat, I switch parties so I may have the honor of casting a vote for Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is, in my opinion, the only candidate with integrity. He has a distinguished career of practicing what he preaches. He is the only truly anti-war candidate thus, his message resounds with so many of us.
Ron Paul is not only raising record amounts of money from the military but also from little people like me who had perviously given up hope. Dr. Paul cured my apathy and gains legions of fervent supports daily. Compare the traffic on Ron Paul's sites to that of other candidates and tell me there isn't something going on here. I only wish more people in the mainstream media were listening. Thank you Mr. Davis and thank you Houston Chronicle.
Sincerely,
Leaves me smiling
Very nice, Chesapeake Baybe. Well said. Left me with both a smile and a tear.

Chesapeake, you could have signed my name to this, too. (except the lifelong Dem part, the rest fits well). Thank you.
