Don't move to Boston...
Don't move to Boston...
This is really beyond hilarious
Here we are on a Ron Paul support site, arguing no-brainer Constitutional issues. Check out the Second and Fourth Amendments. Period.
Anyone who wants the government to control their lives on these issues (or any others, for that matter) needs to look into another candidate.
Honestly, this is pretty basic stuff.

Those two who are arguing
Those two who are arguing against this are not really here for debate at all --- they are here to spread lies and confuse those who are trying to grope their way towards understanding freedom. They are despicable and deserve no consideration.
And, as usual, DeSaulinator turns to ad homs when he loses
It's not surprising at all that DeSaulinator turns to ad hominem attacks yet AGAIN when he runs out of arguments to make.
Please ignore him -- he does not represent most Ron Paul supporters, who believe in free and open debate.
Okay, then
Most Ron Paul supporters accept the notion that the government is too involved in people's lives. This news item seems to be a pretty good illustration of that involvement.
Taking the Second and Fourth Amendments to the Constitution into account, how can anyone possibly defend this?
As I said below, we cannot pick and choose when it's all right for the government to swoop in and save us from ourselves.

The evidence of your
The evidence of your duplicity on this forum is plain for all to see. I don't need to prove anything --- you've done all that yourself, through your self-incriminating posts.
Like the fact that the FIRST AMENDMENT protects PAUL supporters?
Yeah, real duplicitous to say that Paul supporters are protected by the First Amendment when they hand out Slim Jims and fliers. (hint: see below) I must be some kind of government agent for pointing out our RIGHTS under the CONSTITUTION.
Can you please stop accusing everyone who disagrees with your crazy theories.
If the first revolution the guns were taken away
The 4th amendment is not just for outside foreign enemies, but it's main purpose was for a government that turned to tyranny, as is the situation now. This is also another UN "wish", undermining your Constitution. In France, they could only start their revolution when they managed to break in the place where all the gunpowder was stored, once they had that, it was show time. But first they confiscated all gunpowder. Same today, even in good old Switzerland, they are trying to start with removing the bullets from all soldier's arms at home, because of one or 2 incidents. Next will be total removal.
Especially in the poor neighborhoods, who can protect you and your family? The police??? No, you!! 300 years ago, if the authorities would have asked your gun, they'd probably be shot on the spot for such an insult.
They are really treating the people like they were really stupid. Read the Constitution! It was made for The People, not the government. Know your rights, or remaining rights, and let Dr. Paul get back all your rights. All you have to do is support him for President.
Taomaster
Of course, Taomaster, you
Of course, Taomaster, you and I and most of the others here understand the ramifications of this immediately --- more bullying and pressure by the government to further reduce our rights and privacy. But even on this forum, there are a few who argue vehemently otherwise. Beware of them!
@ "It's Voluntary" Pajeff
OK, does that mean it's OK for me to go door-to-door (a private citizen) and ask to search for weapons? I mean, I obviously would not conduct the search if the homeowner didn't allow it, so it would be voluntary. Of the few people who would let me in their home, what if I asked them to give me their cash? It would only be voluntary. If someone told me to go to hell, I would just leave. I would only take the cash that people voluntarily gave me. That's voluntary, so it's OK, right?
I don't buy the "voluntary" argument either
George Washington said, "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
Nothing is truly voluntary where the government is involved.
The question is this: Who owns your life?

The simple point, Pajeff, is that this sort of shit on the part
of government is harassment. Harassment is illegal. If a private party was doing this crap, I would call the cops on them for harassment. When the cops do it though, who do I call?
Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson are the only folks I can think of.
Harassment takes REPEATED contact
You can't harass somebody by asking one question.
If you go to somebody's house and offer them a Slim Jim and a Ron Paul flyer that's not harassment -- that's free speech.
If you go to their house every morning at 5 am to "offer" them a Slim Jim by repeatedly ringing the doorbell at that ungodly hour then that's harassment.
The difference is important, especially to Paul supporters. We have to be able to contact people to spread the message.
Hey Slapshot --- why don't
Hey Slapshot --- why don't you give us one of your posts, JUST ONE, that is not clearly in support of the power of the state, or in favor of the individual over the government.
Can't be done.
WHAT? Supporting right of PAUL supporters to give out Slim Jims
What are you talking about?
All I said was that HARASSMENT takes more than one contact.
We are FREE to give out Slim Jims and protected by the FIRST AMENDMENT in doing so.
That's as PRO-PAUL as you get. We have the power of the CONSTITUTION on our side!
You are wasting your breath,
You are wasting your breath, John --- Pajeff is a troll/disinfo agent, who only comes here to spread lies and pro-government propaganda. He is well recognized as a royal, lying pain in the ass on this forum, and there is no point trying to debate him.
Search my house?
I think I'm fully capable of searching my own house, thanks. With regards to this friendly service you are so eager to provide, how about just setting up a hotline so interested homeowners can call in and request a search? That way you officers won't have to waste your time and my tax dollars going door to door.
Or, read the Constitution
And the Bill of Rights which clearly define federal responsibilities and states' and individual rights. Actually, Dr. Paul has reapeatedly suggested that we all reaquaint/acquaint ourselves with these precious documents. Without responsibility there will be no liberty.
Guess what?
What if the FBI goes along with these police? You refuse to let them in? Lucky for the FBI, King Bush gave them the power to write their own search warrants.
And I've seen countless dash cam videos of people saying they don't submit to a search. Police still do it. They may note that the person refused, but it still happened.
See, the problem with this is some people are still under the impression that we still have our 4th amendment right. We really don't anymore. The constitution is now used to restrain us, and find ways to violate us. It no longer serves the purpose of restraining government.
WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP.
It goes even further
People who cite their constitutional rights fit the profile of "domestic terrorists."

If you don't already have a gun
I recommend spending your "stimulus" check to buy one. That's my plan!

WHY
DO YOU THINK BIG BROTHER IS COMMING TO GET YOU ??
Stop yelling and
No, not necessarily. But I'm already a gun owner, and I may as well convert that meaningless bribe into something useful.
Funny to hear anyone on a Ron Paul forum who doesn't support an individual's right to own guns...

I've read that the stimulus
I've read that the stimulus package isn't even a bribe (nor free money) - it's a loan against your tax refund in 2009. This is afaik.
...
That's even worse!
I always end up paying! I guess I'll owe an extra $800...

I support your right to own a gun, but this program is Voluntary
This really is not a gun ownership discussion...It's privacy issue...And a Parenting issue !!
No, thats what they want you
No, thats what they want you to think....It' a Big Brother issue!!!
"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."
"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."
If their object was Parenting issues
they woulda shoulda coulda held classes for parents on gun safety. No, this is about getting into peoples homes. Yes even people in poor neighbourhoods are entitled to their rights. The police are used to bullying these folks, one of the very reasons youth have taken up guns.
cw
Responsible gun owners are responsible parents
The best thing a parent can do is to educate his children about guns. Take them out to the range and teach them how to shoot. Make them understand how to handle firearms safely and with the proper respect.
However, I hope we can all agree that this is the responsibility of the individual, and not of the government.

And irresponsible one's aren't
You have to admit to both sides..Where does a kid buy multiple riffles to take to school without parents knowing..One of these irresponsible parents may well let their kid have a gun to take to school to shoot your kid !!
