National march
I posted this in another thread, and I'm not trying to spam this, but there are now at least five threads about the DC march and things are getting hard to follow. I wonder what people think of this idea.
I think it is very important for as many people as possible to get to DC, and I'd never suggest we do anything to lessen the turn out there.
Many people, however, will just not be able to get there. Family matters, money, timing etc, can prevent supporters from attending.
What if there were simultaneous marches across the country. A truly nationwide march.
March on your state capitols, march on your county seat, march at your city hall, whatever the local meetups are able to plan and coordinate.
A nationwide march would get not only national attention, but attention in every news market in the country. It would also let those that can't get to Washington DC a way to participate and make a statement. It would also show that we are everywhere.
Has anyone ever done anything like that? I think it would be great if we could pull that off, and I don't know why we couldn't.
What are peoples thoughts on this?

realistically, i think three locations across the usa would be best.
50 capitols just seems too spread out. but any sizable crowd you can muster, with press on the same day would be great, if you cant attend dc.

I agree, I think there definitely needs to be a west coast site, because not everyone can afford to fly, and driving from California would be utterly painful. Perhaps one in Washingon D.C. and one in Washington State (You guys in Wash State are my new heroes btw, way to go in your caucus!)

Its the symbol of it, but I do see the money aspect of it, some of us are not so fortunate and are living paycheck to paycheck, or just have families. I don't want to let anyone down, but maybe somewhere in the middle of the country, so we all don't suffer ($$$ wise) more than the other. Unless the campaign organizes busing or something. We need someone to come out and organize and make an official website for this thing so we can plan.

For those of us who cannot get to DC for some reason or another (hopefully not many) than we DO need to set up local marches to coincide this the DC March...whether it be at your State Capital Building...Your Mayor's Office...or whatever....
Again, hopefully these will be extremely small in comparison, but it will at least give those of us who cannot afford a trip to DC a way of being a part of it.

I'm with you, I'm a college student and I've been living off rice and ramen noodles for the past few months... I know exactly what you mean about living from paycheck to paycheck... But I think it's important that we make a big showing in D.C.
The campaign wont likely be able to organize busing itself, but the grassroots can get a project rolling if we give ourselves enough time... talk to your local meetup.

Reminder****
For those of us who are blessed to be among the 17 states that are telling the Feds to F-off, we may not be able to fly soon (the REAL ID issue)...so please consider this...a lot of us will have to drive to this event.
On a side note...God bless those 17 states (including my lovely IDAHO!!!)
Also...for the military personnel, we need time to prepare...so submit for leave and all that good stuff...a Fed Holiday works well because (for instance on major holidays like Independence Day) we'll get a 4 day weekend...thus asking for 10 days of leave over that time won't be such an issue...with the command knowing we'll already be off for 4 or 5 of those days.
Also consider Primary/Caucus states...we don't want to interfere with those that need to vote in Caucuses, Primaries, and subsequent Conventions.

I would say...
...for those who can't afford to go to DC, why not have secondary local marches for them...say at their capital buildings...or mayors' offices...etc??? Not everyone can travel to DC...but everyone can march.
Not trying to distract anyone from going to DC...I'm already trying to rearrange my budget...but if it doesn't work out, I'll call everyone I now that isn't going to DC and try to do a mini march at the same time.

I'm not suggesting 20 people all over the place. Select major cities and meet at one place, in rural states the county seat may be appropriate. The local meetups know best where to go for exposure.
The farther west in the US you go the more of a challenge for those supporters to get to DC. If those same people had an option even a few hours away we could still get massive groups around the country.
In my state I could see five or six cities being march locations. Smaller or less populous states may do better with fewer.
Or just do one per state at every state capitol.
My thought is why leave those that can't get to DC sitting at home watching TV instead of out getting on TV.
Almost...
Each state or region meets in designated areas and then convoys from there to DC.
For example, AZ folks meet at Phoenix and head out, Oregon folks at Portland, Florida in Orlando or Jacksonville, etc.
Then it becomes the Great Ron-voy Across America! (OK, that was bad, but what the hell!)

I like it. That's a good idea.Traveling in a group is better I think, esp. long distance and I refuse to fly. It's always good to have others traveling with, just in case. I just signed up on the revolutionmarch.com, so looks like that will be the central organizing spot. Hell no sleep tonight, I'm too excited.

Yeah, but I realized something about it later
Coordinating that for the drive corss-country is damned near imposible. Not every body can handle the same driving distance every day and accomodtions along the way for that many is incredibly difficult.
So I modified the idea in another thread that there be a gathering rally in each state the week before and then people make their own way to DC on their own pace and arrangements. A lot more sensible and eaiser to work out.
