Use free classified ads to promote Ron!

I just had a brainstorm. Many local newspapers (and bargain hunters' tabloids at your supermarket) offer free ads that run for a limited time. Some newspapers also provide ads online -- either versions of your print ads or electronic-only ads.

Here's an electronic-only ad I posted at the Evansville Courier: http://evansville.kaango.com/feViewAd/10741789

I also took out a free print ad for a Ron Paul bumber sticker, which should run in a week and a half for 10 days.

The Evansville Courier is probably typical; they offer free ads for free merchandise, for merchandise under $250, for found items ("Hey, I found this Ron Paul sign!"), and for free pets ("Free kittens named 'Peace,' 'Prosperity,' 'Constitution,' and 'Ron Paul'."). There are endless ways to make use of these freebies.

Warning -- make sure your local activists don't flood the paper with too many requests for free ads; best rotate maybe three ads from different folks each week so they don't limit politically related ads.

These are all great ideas

We REALLY need an activism section on this site.

Google Adwords

Another idea along those lines is Google Adwords - though it isn't free. I wish I had the funds right now to pay for a Google Adwords campaign, but I don't.

Now that is a....

...Mastercard "PRICELESS" idea!! I had wondered about the possibility of using free ads myself back a while ago, but I never really fully pursued the idea. Craig's list is another great place to apply this viral, guerilla marketing technique.

Thanks!

I'll look at Craig's list -- heard about it long ago but never yet visited.

I've been wondering about ways to do cutesy stuff like "FREE NIFTY CONSTITUTION to a good home -- preferably the United States. Pretty old, but it hasn't been worked much at all. Available only with Ron Paul in the White House." ... or "FREE COUNTRY when you get one Ron Paul elected to the White House."

How about to direct ad

How about to direct ad readers to free 800 prerecorded message about Ron Paul?

I have some free ads in local papers announcing Ron Paul meetup

You can make announcements for your Ron Paul meetup groups
in papers, list your events in community events columns,
and on local websites with Calanders.

We have gotten several signups from this.
