Parallel Discussion: PURPOSE of the March

Just wanted to get the ball rolling on WHY we're marching. It would be great for everyone to be on the same page, so that if we get interviewed at the march, we can all answer in agreement with one another.
Are we marching to gain recognition for our man?
Or are we marching to spread the message?
The march will be very different depending on which we pick.
I pick the latter. Dr Paul is a conduit for the message, but that is much more important than he is.

I think the message is about empowering individuals to make their own decision. RP is just our front man.
I think you're really close
I think you're really close to it, but you also have to tie it into our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Our country is unique in that it opted to give this much power to the individual, and we've forgotten this fact over time. I think that's the message: that we've got the solution right in front of us and we've ignored it for too long. But no more, thanks to Dr Paul!
To show our numbers

To simply show that WE EXIST.

Our purpose
is to spread Ron Paul's message.His name needs to be mentioned.

He said a grand rally would a great deal to help our cause.
If I am asked why I came to DC I am going to say...
"Dr. Paul asked me to come to Washington DC."
I am here in support of Dr. Paul and what he stands for.

So you're there for option 1: supporting our man. If I go, that's why I will be there too.
Idea
The message needs to be clear.
It needs to encompass a lot of people.
And align all those people towards a common goal.
Ron Paul says " The Freedom Message Brings us Together"
But a Freedom March can mean many things to many people.
What would be a way to make the message clear to
millions of people?
People are outraged with our government for so many different
reasons.
What is the reason common to all of these people?
What is the desired outcome common to all of these people?
What word encompasses all of that.?
I am not really sure.
Freedom ralleys have been held before, but the message
may not even be clear with the word freedom.
I really am not sure but I think we need to really figure this out.
What did MLK do to get so many March on Washington?

We are going there in support of Dr. Paul.
If the media wants to know why you are there tell them the above and have them ask Dr. Paul.

But I feel we need to make the central axis for any "add-ons" to still be Dr Paul's message, and by extension, Dr Paul.
Be careful
I asked what the purpose was yesterday and was roundly criticized as not being a true Ron Paul supporter. I learned my lesson. I thought it would be a good idea to have a clear mission and purpose, not only for publicity reasons but also to give people a goal. Focus. I learned my lesson. I'm going to let someone else ask it, sift throught the insults, and read the answer.

Sorry to see that you were berated. It's so important to word your posts here carefully. :)
People may have thought you believed there was no point in the march, whereas with my post, it's trying to narrow down what the purpose should be.
l think we should call it the LIBERTY MARCH
so that all freedom loving people will join us (anti-war groups etc).
We should try to make this as BIG as possible.

.....that is an umbrella for everything and denounces how liberty has been taken away from the people and big government runs our lives...sends us to war,s we don't believe in and, in our names, oppresses people around the world, takes away the stability fo our currency, plans to combine our nation with Canada and Mexico, spreads GM seed and ruins organic farming, pays farmers not to farm so conglomerates take over, sends our jobs overseas, spies on us, overtaxes us etc., etc., etc.
Has to be broad-based. Let the people march and carry their signs...Hope for America RP signs with "Hell No, I Won't Go"...."Don't tell me how to educate my kids"..."Tell US the TRUTH/No More Lies!"...etc. We the people are now the beginnings of the resistance....unplugging one by one from the Matrix.

Ron Paul crosses the Potomac: March strategy for WashDC
As any great leader marching on the capitol of his empire, Dr. Ronald Earnest Paul -our General- will lead a furious nation across the Potomac as Julius Caesar did across the Rubicon. We will not cross to conquer or in search of spoils, our purpose shall be the proclamation of Life and restoring Liberty. While we cannot subject ourselves to brutality, bearing any arms ourselves would only embolden the enemy. Yet for all that, it cannot be forgotten that we reserve the right to be protected.
We will not march to be seen or heard, but to be remembered. Our presence shall serve to Affirm our philosophy upon America. Let us roar so loud that our message will reverberate upon generations yet to manifest. Our current campaign, not but a year old, has 100,000 soldiers with another 500,000 enlisted as reserves. These numbers do not yet include those which organizers can recruit.
Dr. Paul's message calls for us all to play our individual roles. Suggested key roles would be: runners to scout the war path; march leaders to unite and lead battalions of mothers and fathers/brothers and sisters/humanity united; merchants; musicians -marching band to announce arrival; supply vehicles; most important, we must bear a body of defense. All this, with Liberty in tow.
We will multiply as the months and years progress. With importance, establishing personal contacts with Americans of all allegiances. With minds focused upon affirming ourselves Republican and Free, a network of soldiers committed to the cause
I've checked out some Google maps overlooking Wash D.C. and there are several strategic locations en route to the capitol whereupon we should rally. It would be wise to get our camps in order before marching upon the enemy, for a disorganize mop is no any army than a pile of wood is a house.

Restore the Republic
This country will continue to go down the wrong path until we can restore the Constitutional Government our founding fathers established. Of course saying "restore the republic" will make those that believe it's a democracy cringe so focusing on the Constitution makes it pre-party politics and gets right down to the heart of the matter.
I laid awake in bed last
I laid awake in bed last night thinking of how we could make this march most effective.
I'm sure there will be a large gathering where everyone stands around and listens to music and speeches. But I wondered just how much IMPACT we would have if we devoted one day to splitting up into teams and walking the streets and residential areas of D.C. to spread the word.
Monetary policy is what brought me to this campaign, and I would like to see more people become informed about that.

I was thinking the same thing. The more our message is unified on that day the louder it will be.
I think the march is to spread Pauls message of prosperity and peace.
