I am disgusted.

For weeks I have read all the whiny posts about RP should be doing this or he should do that. He should say this, wear this. He needs this, he needs that. One of the things whiners were complaining about is that RP "needs" to appeal directly to his supporters. Give them an update, make a video, etc.. Well, guess what?? He did just that. It's been posted for more than 12 hours on his web site, and it was also emailed to supporters. Yet, nothing has changed. Donations are down so low it's scary. He made suggestions, provided explanations, but I don't see anything changing on here or in the donation totals. I am in this until the very end. But, I really believe there are very few who feel the same way.
Too much negativity. Always an excuse. Always a complaint. I will continue to canvas and spread the word. I will continue to donate whatever I can, whenever I can. But, I think most of you on here are a sorry ass excuse for an "army". You're too weak and too easily discouraged. THAT'S what needs to change. No one can do it for you. YOU have to decide to do it. Or simply go back to sleep. War is hell, and make no mistake about it. We are fighting a war as surely as the troops are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are their voice back here. We have a responsibility to preserve what they are serving with honor and courage.
I'm finished ranting.

You might not be getting the full picture.

Some of us REALLY APPRECIATED the video and have been re-energized by it. Things ARE looking up. But you will have to be patient. We took a hard hit Friday night, and everyone has to reassemble, prepare for the next project, and then transfer our enthusiasm to others.

Everything is not as it appears!!

Personally, I am more energized than ever. The donations do not reflect the true measure of the army's move forward. My husband and I are almost maxed out on our donations to the campaign, but that is not stopping us! Today, I spoke with American Free Press about purchasing up to 50,000 of their Ron Paul newspaper supplements. They are 8 pages (in color) and absolutely fantastic. I called all the area newspapers (weekly and daily), and the price of using them as inserts is nominal (compared to other advertising media). I also contacted outdoor advertising companies to get prices for billboards (very costly). I also got on a radio talk show today espousing the conservatism of Dr. Paul along with advising the audience that he was on our PA ballot, along with McCain and the Huckster. We have a weekly meet-up group of more than 200 people, and I know that many of them are putting just as much effort into this war for our freedom. Perhaps, many supporters are doing just what we are doing. It is so exciting to know that we are going to have our own media outlet, and also the march on Washington. ONWARD!

"Nothing is as it appears; everything is smoke and mirrors"

Agreed but

I think a large percent of the people on here have nothing better to do with their time. The real supporters aren't on this site very often.

//not a real supporter (I only got out and canvased two days prior to my primary, never made it to a meetup.. etc etc.. :( )

And your post adds so much

"I will continue to donate whatever I can, whenever I can. "

Did it ever cross your mind that people are losing their *homes* due to having lost their *jobs*? That they may have one less meal for their families *because of what they already donated* because they *believe* in the Revolution?

That young people with great jobs in the financial markets topped out their $2300 maximums (before possibly losing their own jobs on the exchanges)?

And (almost!!!!) $6 million dollars raised in 6 weeks is something to be *DISGUSTED* by?

Do you have any idea how much *personal* effort people are willing to offer for the hundreds of tasks required to make the March a success?

Now, all we need is a RON PAUL statement as to his choice of a DATE.

(Given the questions about the Friday e-mail, I'll accept a videotape from RP, "I approve this date".)

there is more to measure than money

I am broke, so cannot contribute again for a while. In the meantime, I have conquered my shyness and been going door to door. If you had not noticed, the economy is tanking. The Ron Paul catch-22 is that we get that, and are trying to be fiscally responsible AND trying to donate all we can. It is the lull before the storm. Stop panicking every time things don't go the way you think they ought to!

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

I think the people you're trying to reach..

are probably just going to ignore this thread.

Look man, if this is your idea of what someone who isn't easily discouraged says...

"But, I think most of you on here are a sorry ass excuse for an "army". You're too weak and too easily discouraged."

I mean, you sound discouraged. Come on... I've always found statements such as this to be more discouraging than encouraging.

Where's your spirit. Cheer up. Seriously, if you canvas with that attitude, you might scare people away.

This effort we are all making is extremely important, but have you thought of some of the other things other revolutionaries might be doing? Some are donating money to Dr. Paul's Congressional Campaign, which we need him to win. Some are donating money to the NASCAR project, which could provide enormous strides in name recognition. Some don't have money, but they've got time and love talking with neighbors or strangers and they're canvassing. Some don't have a lot of time or might be shy, but they are working hard to earn money. Some are driving around with bumper stickers and car magnets. Some are attending rallies and organizing marches. Some are calling people in other states. Think division of labor. Do what you can and do what you feel best doing.

Please don't blame others who love Ron Paul every ounce as much as you do for what you perceive to be a weakening. Let's be positive.

All the best!

yeah, donations are

yeah, donations are extremely important, but word of mouth too.
Donations alone, dont reach your neighbor or community.
yeah they advertise, but sometimes when people are not interested in watching a commercial they get up and leave. by the time they come back to their seat the commercial is over.So my advice, hit the neighbors with slim jims or dvd's

Fellow Warrior

I would first like to comment that I too noticed that donations were down a bit. I am also in this until the end and beyond if I can. I live in MD. and have been doing all I can. I am handicapped and have a meager income, but have managed to give allot and will continue as I can. Which I am sure is the case with many others. On the other hand, I took my beat up old body, (what's left of it) out on friday and walked all day. I went to my polls at 7:30 this morning and stood out in the cold snow and sleet all day until I just about couldn't stand up any longer all by myself. People thought I was nuts until they took a few minutes to talk with me about why. I hope I turned a few hundred heads today and wish I could still be out there. The founders pledged their all and gave their all for our great country and I have done the same. To all of you who continue in this battle for all you are worth I salute you and see you as fellow patriots and true American heros.

I love my country
I am appalled by my government

hey thank you

I sit here warm in Ca thinking sometimes that I'm cooped up by a two year old, you make me want to get off my ass. I love all you Fellow Warriors, you give the world hope just like Ron Paul. Thank you.

I think the general feeling

I think the general feeling around here and from the campaign is to take a little breather until his Congressional race is over. Maybe Ron himself needs a bit of a break; he has been at this a very solid year now. I actually believe it plausible that even with $50 million in donations, the media could have put any spin on the race they wanted and the current results would be the same. An honest run campaign is no match for the current voting system and GOP of the good old USA. We just had one of our best states with WA and were simply ignored.

With the news of a march, I think the excitement will come back into the campaign. If things are up and moving by the 28th (MSNBC debate) he may even get to promote the march on national television. I think patience is going to be key for the next month or so.

Sorry but....

I think everyone is donating as much as they can. Not all people are on the internet to know his campaign is alive and well. We need to take charge and advertise.

I think everyone has done very well so far. Does it really surprise you that donations are down now?
