Preparing 4 D.C.;;Tens of Thousands March on the Pentagon

0 votes

This is what were up against when we march on D.C. This is from last year and its the perfect day to do it. The anniversary of the war in Iraq. We can coordinate our Ron Paul Rally with the Anti War movement. We could follow the same logic and if you cant make it to D.C. Protest in your capitol. The San Fransico march was as big as D.C. and plenty of other states were involved. Wake up the to movement if you missed it the first time around.

If you're going to do it, go all the way

I think this is a bad idea. But if you're going to do it, go all the way. Take over the Pentagon and shut it down. Native American protesters seized Alcatraz and held it against the police for a few days in the 1960s. Why not follow their lead?

Just walking around won't do you much good.

Not

I don't think we should look like a war protest march. I think our march should be a positive march "For the Constitution." If we march as if we are protesting the war, that is all that will be reported and they will love that. It will make him look weak on military, weak on bin Laden, a peacenic with all of our strange looking little characters. Not a good idea. Keep it concentrated on Liberty and Constitution.

If we do multiple marches as

If we do multiple marches as suggested by ecjonnyboy we can do different themes from Pauls campaign.

We can even target locations like City Halls, Bus and Subways,Media outlets, Schools, Public Utilities, etc on specific days.

Each month or two weeks or every parade we can switch. 1 on Fed Reserve/Irs, Anti War/Non Intervention. Election/Voter Fraud etc...

The point is theres millions of us and we need to show ourselfs to the world. We can expect a media blockout but thats the reason we have to be everywhere.

Other Ideas is a Media Boycot, Dont go to work day,

I never said we should look

I never said we should look like a war protest. The quote was to show the effectiveness of public marches/rallies/protests. Think about it. 1968-1970. They rallied for 2 YEARS PEOPLE!!! Certainly we can pay these people homage with a meager showing over the course of a few months. Since when were we not looked at as being weak on military, etc? Where have you been???

Why not march on ALL OF THESE DATES???

Thirty-seven years ago when anti-war protests began to engulf the United States, the Nixon administration adopted a public posture of utter indifference. Nixon went out of his way to claim that he didn't notice massive anti-war demonstrations in Washington because he was watching a football game on TV. We learned later from the memoirs of high government officials that the rising tide of anti-war protests between 1968 and 1970 constituted one of the greatest fears for the war makers. The movement spread deep into the rank-and-file of the U.S. military as well, as soldiers, marines and sailors carried out their own protests and acts of resistance. Sometimes the people underestimate their own power, but the ruling establishment knows all too well the consequences of a politicized and mobilized people.

Bush pleads for "patience"

It is the protests sweeping throughout the United States during the past four days and the prospect of other demonstrations to come that forced Bush to go on the airwaves Monday to "plead for patience." The Bush administration and the Pentagon high command fear that the protest movement could become a contagion. Politics is dynamic and political apathy, lethargy and inaction can turn into their opposites. The protests of the last days anchored by the march of tens of thousands at the Pentagon raises this specter for the White House and the Pentagon.

Here's a thought. Let's take Ron's advice! We need to listen to our enemy! THIS ARMY MUST MARCH!!!

Why not plan it for EVERY SINGLE DAY PEOPLE ARE SUGGESTING? If some can't come on one march, go to the next! Hell, I live in Chicago and would make the trip to DC to march in as many as possible! Why limit ourselves?

Reasons why multiple marches will be more successful:
1. More people can attend (over all)
2. Show that this isn't a one-time thing and we're not going away
3. Make the police force work super-overtime (making them disgruntled and more willing to step out of line, if you catch my drift)
4. Everyone can learn from previous rallies how to be more successful (i.e. circumvent the roadblocks to show our true numbers)
5. Rally more troops to the cause

Thoughts? Additions to this list? Let's hear 'em!

good idea

I don't like 4/19 due to association problems.

My b-day is 4/20 and I hear them all:

-Columbine
-Hitler's B-Day
-American Revolution shot
-420 (Marijuana turds)
etc...etc...etc.....

I think there is something bad about 4/19-4/20 and it should be avoided.

Very good points!

I remembered Hitler----420 never clicked and forgot Columbine date----I really don't like the April date----this year it is also right before Eastern Orthodox Easter---don't know how many care, but.... I think there are better dates~! I personally like June 21 but I understand Memorial Day or the 4th also have good reasons.

Pentagon has security?

The Pentagon has security, including lots of people with guns. Doesn't seem like a bright idea.

They Do

But we have rights!

If you read the article, the police pulled out all stops. They shut down public transportation. Hijack the buses, filled em with cops and army to make giant roadblocks.

The speakers were stopped at the airport and temporaly detained. They basicly shut the city down. It happen in Atlanta, Cali, etc.

Somehow I think the Pentagon will be less tolerant than SF

I was in SF -- the police did very little.

The Pentagon will be far less tolerant.

not a bad idea....

if we are going to win this fight we are going to have to join large groups together since we have a common enemy....

lets get as many people out there as possible
