Greenspan = Francisco D'Anconia?

I am puzzled by Greenspan. He was a staunch backer of gold standard. But then, he spent his life in office creating fake boom and busts, and creating products that will kill our monetary system, by endorsing subprime and letting the derivatives market come to play.

Maybe he decided he couldn't beat the big guys, and so he was bent on destroying the economy so that a completely new one will rise out of it?

Protecting them so they could let the public, us know we were being screwed.

No shit, didn't know that one. Doesn't really surprise me that much though. Most of these talking heads were wannabe actors in the beginning anyway. Living in L.A. you learn to take anything, anyone says with a two grains of salt.
