We need $82,048.01 by tomorrow for this:

Race car reaching MILLIONS of viewers!

A New Leadership Team: Founder Ron Conrad, Co-founder Ryan Rittenhouse, and Webmaster/Designer Justin Flores have been joined by a dedicated new leadership team that includes Matt D. Harris (of Ron Paul Radio), Mike Simon (a lifelong race fan), and Kathleen Hanover (a public relations/marketing guru). Several original supporters are still on board, and support is growing every day!

A New Organization: Liberty Racing Political Action Committee is a new non-profit organization created to help comply with the maze of anti-grassroots McCain-Feingold campaign finance laws. Liberty Racing PAC is dedicated to supporting Pro-Liberty candidates and organizations. And Ron Paul Racing is Liberty Racing PAC's first official project!

A New Sponsorship Deal: Visit the Blog to learn the details of this once-in-a-lifetime chance to sponsor TWO cars in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (formerly the Busch Series) starting at Daytona International Speedway on February 16th! All 35 races in the series will be televised (on either ABC or ESPN2), with an average viewership of 2 million households per race! The price for this sponsorship deal? Just $300,000, and it includes appearances by the "Show Car" at Ron Paul events! $300,000 is a very small price to pay for this much TV exposure (not to mention all the other media exposure that accompanies NASCAR!)

A New Deadline: To get the Ron Paul Racing cars into the first Nationwide Series race at Daytona, the Team Owner requires a down payment of $100,000 by Wednesday, February 13th. Please show us your support by making a donation! (And even if we don't raise the deposit in time for the first race, the Team Owner will pro-rate the sponsorship so the Ron Paul Racing cars can run as much of the season as possible.)

Join the Ron Paul Racing team as we Race for the Revolution!

"This Nascar idea is a stroke of genius. As someone who has attended 4 National Republican conventions as a voting delegate and someone who holds a nightime driving speed record at Daytona in an 500 mile nightime event, I aplaud this marraige of politics and power. God bless America and gentlemen start our engines. We got to clear the carbon out of this democracy. 2008 is the year to do it."
— L. Kenneth Ross (co-driver, 1985 Paul Revere 500)

(Ron Paul Racing is funded by Liberty Racing PAC. Ron Paul Racing is not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s campaign committee. Contributions to Liberty Racing PAC are not tax deductible.)

This is awesome news!

I am not a race car fan, but I am a Ron Paul fan.

This is a huge sport here in Dallas/Ft. Worth and we certainly need the exposure for Dr. Paul in Texas.

If you all remember what the good Doctor said - "Have fun". This sounds like fun to me.

Thanks for all your hard work on this one!

I am going to go donate now.

COMING SOON!

The Ringside Revolution!!!! Yup.... RP will be sponsoring a fighter in an upcoming MMA championship on March29!!! Web site is on its way!!! FIRST EVER!!! Like the BLIMP and the Race Car. WE DON"T STOP!!!

Does my burka make my butt look fatwa?

This is NOT a scam

Please check the response from Kathleen Hanover to the post by that website that says it is a scam, which someone had posted here.

http://www.connietalk.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=260

Is there a different link?

The one you provided does not link to a story ...

Sorry, that link just goes

Sorry, that link just goes to the connietalk forum, which I dont care to sign up for.

Far too many anomolies - perhaps misunderstandings, misinterpretations, and miscommunications are wrapped around this sponsorship.

They're quitting - they're not quitting. They've got one car, they've got two cars, they've got three cars. They have a PAC license, but wait, that's not their PAC license. Their site is using Domains by Proxy - which is regarded as scam central by many reputable scam-aware sites.

But all that doesn't mean it is not legitimate. They could be perfectly good reasons why all of this doesn't seem to add up.

I'm sorry, but as much as I would love to see Ron Paul being sponsored on a NASCAR car, I feel that a rush to get 100k in a few days time isn't going to happen without a lot more information being provided.

It's not our fault that we can read, research and point out the strange things surrounding this entire proposal. It is our fault if we read them, dont act on them, and end up getting the bad end of a scam for not mentioning it.

Call some of us overprotective.. but if you're going to claim to have a PAC, you'd better be able to back up that claim with something other than someone elses PAC ID number.

CF

Please, give up on this NASCAR idea...

It has the potential to educate 75 million NASCAR fans about the only truly conservative candidate left in the race. Someone who actually shares their values and beliefs...and will continue to vote his conscience (i.e. the Constitution) even after he's elected.

What's worse, it will allow Ron Paul to circumvent the carefully crafted news media blackout that has helped me succeed. It will give Ron Paul 40 weeks of TV time where he will be given positive exposure week after week.

This idea must die!

The people working on it are no doubt fallible...probably not experts at campaigning or fundraising. And they're doing it part-time...even better. They won't have time to respond to all the attacks that my surrogates can launch.

The good news is that I'm sure my campaign finance laws will make it difficult, if not impossible, for them to pull this off without making any mistakes. And, ladies and gentlemen, that's how we will destroy them!

Ron Paul Racing...your days are numbered. I will fight you for the next 100 years if necessary!

Sincerely,
John McCain

I can appreciate humor and

I can appreciate humor and sarcasm, but when we're discussing an issue as potentially damaging - or potentially important - as this one, your attempts at getting people to point and say "Look at the weirdo who is against Ron Paul" doesn't cut it.

For someone who showed up here on just about the same day that this whole Nascar sponsorship idea was brought to us to be making a post like that is not suprising at all.

In fact, in looking at your track record here (pun intended) you have only posted on three threads ever - each of them involving this sponsorship.

So lets see.. you show up when the NASCAR promotion is announced.. you only post to NASCAR promotion threads.. and now you're here claiming that this is all about RP.

Call me weird, but that doesn't sit right with me. Not at this stage of the game when hundreds of thousands of dollars are being asked for.

All we're asking for here is some proof that this is not a scam. A PAC identification number would go a long way in accomplishing that request. Thus far all we've been given is someone elses PAC identification number.

One more comment, and then I'll go to bed.

One thing that caught my attention to this sponsorship was the fact that Big Daddy was a part of it. If anyone can help put together a winning engine, it's him.

I went to the racing site and looked for the blurb that was on there about him, because someone mentioned that they had tried to get his verification about all this and had come up empty handed.

I must be missing something because I can no longer find any reference to Big Daddy at all on the site. Can someone tell me where that went? Is BDDG still on board?

This thing has too much potential to do GOOD if it's legitimate - but I can't ignore the potential to do bad if it isn't.

If we cannot feel obligated to protect our fellow Patriots, when there are so many 'oddities' surrounding something, then we're no better than those we hope to replace in government.

I for one would rather be wrong and say something, than right and say nothing.

If this does turn out to be a scam, imagine the bad press that would surround it. "Ron Paul supporters, even though they are touted as being internet savvy and masters of discovering cover-ups and lies, get scammed out of a hundred thousand dollars - details at 5, 6, 7,8, 9..."

Too much is at risk here - not just dollars.

I also noticed that the TWO places in this thread where the incorrect PAC number was provided have been flagged out of existance. Even more reason to ponder impropriety.

CF

LMAO

I like that - made me chuckle :-)

Having said that, here's my two cents: I am a NASCAR fan and I do think this is a great idea. I also think that Coldfusion raises some legit points that deserve a response from the people in charge of this event. That should put to rest all these threads disputing the validity of the fundraising (I think there's two active ones right now, as a matter of fact). That's all.

I do hope it comes to fruition though - I'm looking forward to seeing it :)

Can RP HQ donate to Nascar idea, 'token' amount?

Like $100 to show they support the idea and want supporters to run with it?

Thank you for the pac # I

Thank you for the pac # I also noticed that the article was posted on Feb 1st and they announced that had secured the deal on Feb 10th. so that article can not be right.

I was just, in this thread,

I was just, in this thread, provided with a PAC license number.

That number is #C00234641

According to the posts about the RonPaulRacing site, they started their PAC under the title 'Liberty Racing', and they started it recently.

According to the data on the PAC license provided, that license is assigned to the Liberty Political Action Committee - NOT Liberty Racing

It is also assigned in Lake Jackson TX, not California (as posts have said on other sites).

It has also been in existance since 1998, where they had total receipts of $89,604 for the year.

So this is obviously not the Liberty Racing PAC ID.

Perhaps the person who provided it has nothing to do with RonPaulRacing at all, and they're just mistaken, but this is just one more nail in that coffin.

Be advised, now that the PAC license number has been publically provided in this forum, legal action can be taken by the REAL Liberty PAC against any body claiming that they are affiliated, and accepting revenues in lieu of, that PAC identification number.

The owners of RonPaulRacing had better get in here and clear this up immediately.

You're mistaken about the PAC number.

Liberty Racing PAC didn't exist before last week. It was specifically created to help Ron Paul Racing rise from the ashes after the contentious volunteer split that is referenced in threads on the Ron Paul War Room.

I don't know anything about Liberty PAC, but it looks like they live in Ron Paul's neighborhood.

I came on board about 10 days ago and I've put in close to 80 hours on this project so far. My own business is suffering...so I need to get back to work now! :)

Ok. So what is the PAC

Ok. So what is the PAC number for Liberty Racing PAC?

Provide that in a link to the PAC lookup so we can validate it, and all the problems people have with this project can be eliminated.

It wasn't 'me' or 'us' who screwed up this proposal so badly, not that there is any blame to put on anyone really. But when so many questions are asked and the only answers given are basically 'go to our site and see', and the site doesn't prove anything other than someone knows how to build a site - the questions are not being answered.

The claim has now been made that there is a PAC in place for this sponsorship. Along with that claim was a threat that anyone who spoke against this sponsorship would be breaking federal law.

I'm not one to back down just because someone makes a claim. Back it up with proof or your threats are meaningless.

I am FOR a sponsorship of a NASCAR car! It's a fantastic idea, those who thought of it should be - and WILL be - commended for their work and efforts. But it's not going to go very far if all that can be offered as proof it is not a scam are threats and false information.

Sorry to say, that doesn't work on us. We don't respond well to threats, scams or potential damage to the Ron Paul campaign.

So stop talking about web sites and press releases, and give us something we can verify with the federal authorities on this matter. It shouldn't be too hard to come up with that PAC ID number - it took mere seconds to come up with someone elses!

CF

I was mistaken about the PAC #

sorry about that.

Rally or Ride?

Here is what I got from the warroom.. summed it up for me

Rattlesnake says:

I found my confirmation-ATTENTION EVERYONE-PLEASE READ-this was posted on ronpaulracing site

There have been 10790 different visitors to this site
We’re now at Over $10,000 (pledges + donations) 01/31/08

Ron Paul Racing: Too much to handle

As you all can see the vicious lies and attack’s on Ron Paul Racing are not stopping, the time and resources spent all week have been to much for our small organization to swat down. Every word in our prior statement is true and verifiable.

We tried to be as open and honest as possible while maintain our ability to discuses options for our car sponsorship with the top people in the industry. Nobody in their right mind will now. I can say we were close to three different deals that would have been mind blowing.

Our webmaster has given notice that he will be pulling out as well as three other key people. I can’t do this anymore. Our job now is to do the best thing for the donors.

So, we will be instructing Pay Pal to return to the individual donors their pledges . We’re all sorry but we don’t have any other options. We spent $150.00 dollars building, maintaining the site and $280.00 to Scanner Scott for Cell time (Radio Interviews etc.) and expenses he said he needed. Any other expense deductions will be the cost of returning the money Pay Pal charges. A Complete final total when completed will be posted on the War room.

Thank you all for understanding,
Ron Conrad (ron.conrad@ronpaulracing.com)

__________________________________________________

So, what are we to believe? The site say's they're up and running, the warroom says they've got archived clips like what is written above.

Someone posted a long stretch of information about hosts and domain names - that a webmaster such as myself would even be ashamed to see posted about one of my own sites. DomainsByProxy is notoriously used to hide the real identities of the person who owns the domain name.

From all the information I can gather - including the above information - I can not and will not suggest putting any money at all into that site until some verification is provided.

We've got posts coming from RonPaulRacing.com that say they will sue anyone who slanders them because they are a licensed PAC - and yet there are other sites that say they cannot find any record of a PAC license at all.

I'm a Nascar fan myself, and would love to see a car with Ron's name on it.. but the site itself is misleading enough for me to change my mind on that one. The car shown at the top of the screen at ronpaulracing has the number 08 on it, as if it will be a " Ron Paul '08 " car... when, in reality the car number is not 08.

Also, there is no mention of what we are actually getting for the 300k they need. The image of the car is repleat with tons of Ron Paul identifications.. but we could just as easily end up with a bumper sticker under the driver seat.

I commend the folks at RonPaulRacing for their advancement of this opportunity - but many of us here have more important things to do with our money before we give it up for something that has provided no real evidence that it exists, other than a web site that anyone could have built, and a press release that anyone could have paid for.

Until something more solid appears to show that this thing is real - my suggestion would be for the RPR folks to get something verifiable, and not something that any 12 year old could have drummed up on the internet.

How about the license number for the PAC? If you've got one, that would be a great start. At least it's something that can be verified. Then you'll probably get a boatload more support from everyone - including me!

What You Get For $300,000

What you get for $300,000: http://www.ronpaulracing.com/blog/?p=40

If a message from Kenny Wallace isn't going to do it for you, I don't know what else to say. (www.ronpaulracing.com home page)

Car numbers are 36 and 22.

Fantasy NASCAR car on the site is an artist's impression of how cool it would be to have at Ron Paul NASCAR ride. The "08" refers to the "08" election.

I have to ask...did the blimp people get this much grief, or are we just special?

Try checking out

Try checking out ronpaulracing.com yourself instead of basing your judgment on a smear article.

Do you judge RP based on smear campaigns?

82 thousand until tomorrow is nothing for Dr. Paul's supporters

Because we are millions. And I support this idea with the NASCAR, indeed it is already making a lot of buzz on the internet! I think it is even greater as the Blimp!
The crowd is huge, millions of people watching the season on the cable TV and Dr. Paul's name and the CURIOSITY to find out more about him is THERE

I am going with 100$ to support this idea

My 2 cents on NASCAR

Personally, I think car racing in general is silly and have never watched it, however, I am more than aware of how fanatical its supporters are...(My brother is one. If NASCAR is on TV, nothing short of a death in the IMMEDIATE family or a fire (in the chair he is sitting in only), would tear his eyes away. They study every detail about their favorite drivers and their cars. If Ron Paul's name suddenly appears on the circuit I have no doubt millions will notice, many who may have never heard of him, the rest will at least be notified he is still in the race.

Do you have any idea the exposure Ron Paul would get from this?

Ron Paul Racing, Hey everyone I thought I would write about the Nascar sponsorship, I am a huge race fan, an I can tell you this is not a joke, Kenny Wallace would not have sent us a message if this was not for real, Do you have any idea the exposure Ron Paul would get from this? We complain all the time about the msm not giving Ron Paul the same media attention the others get, and here's a chance to reach millions of people and we set back and question it. Daytona is the biggest race of the season, and Kenny Wallace is not just a driver but a commentator for the speed channel, He does all the pre race shows, having Ron Paul on 2 race cars on race day is huge, and having him on the side of their car haulers going from one side of this country to the other is no small thing either, Company's pay big bucks to sponsor these cars, and they are giving us this opportunity, Also I'm not for sure about this but I would bet we would be the first presidential campaign sponsoring a Nascar. I don't know anyone who doesn't look at a Nascar hauler as it goes by. If your a race fan you know what I'm talking about. I have already donated to this effort and plan on getting a t shirt. If you want this campaign to get a lot of national exposure consider going to Ron Paul racing.com and sending in a donation, it doesn't have to be a lot, I donated $50 and I live pay check to paycheck, but as a race fan I can tell you it will be well worth it. The deadline has been extended to Feb 15 at 12 noon

NASCAR is the second-most popular professional sport

in terms of TELEVISION RATINGS inside the U.S., ranking only behind the NFL. The largest track can accommodate over 170,000 people which is far larger than any non-motorsport venue in North America.

I am a Formula 1 fan myself and most of the races are broadcasted on the Speed Channel. My boyfriend and I have actually started referring to it as the NASCAR channel because it seems like over 80% of their programming is dedicated to the sport.

Having the RP sponsorship logo in front of the rear tires on both sides of the cars is huge. This means it is clearly visible every time the camera focuses on the car and there would be close-ups of it at every pit stop.

The GrannyWarriors website has links on their main page to 2 videos of their NASCAR experiences which are posted on youtube.

One of the best things about the RP racing sponsorship is that it also a way to stick it to Faux. The Speed Channel is one of their subsidiaries.

This is Bad!

There is no substance to a car with RP's name on it. How will that get votes? It is the economy, war, and constitution that is the issue. RP's name on a race car will not get votes.

If you think it is a scam

That is your choice to make, but you will be the one not supporting this.. Do not keep someone who is in support of this, from not donating..

I'm very interested in the

I'm very interested in the potential of this.. so I followed the link you said we should look at before saying this might be a scam.

I found nothing there but a press release posted by the RonPaulRacing people, and continued 'go to our site to see if it's real' posts.

I have seen no credible evidence that this is not a scam, and plenty that suggests it is. So I say again - evidence that it is real?

Kenny Wallace's Cell Phone Number

If I gave you Kenny's cell phone number, and you called him, and he told you about the sponsorship, and went on to say how much he likes Ron Paul, would that satisfy you?

You can get all of that (except the cell phone number) by listening to the message from Kenny at www.ronpaulracing.com. And you even get to hear my lovely voice as a bonus. ;)

RON PaUL RACING

This doesnt need to be anywhere near the level of a ron paul moneybomb. 100,000 for now? Thats nothing. I know we can do this. we only need 300,000 for an entire year of coverage? They dont even mention the coverage of practice sessions on speed channel. Even after the campaign this is a valuable investment. Lets do this.
