April 15 (or ASAP at Ron's choosing)

April 15th

Why:
1. We NEED people to realize the tax/federal reserve problem. That is why the stand on April 15th was created.

2. We NEED people to remember our stand against the unlawful taxation and the evils of the Federal Reserve...seriously. We NEED that in the history books. We NEED people to remember the huge taxation and the
economic instability from the Federal Reserve.

3. We are already working on a MASSIVE international strike/march for April 15th. (In fact, I received an international email pushing for April 15th...SEVERAL countries are already planning events around April 15th and request that we have our major stand on that day so that it lines up w/ their stand so it can be WORLDWIDE!!!)

4. April 15th is before at least 8 states vote!!

5. It is neither too soon nor too far out (enough time to make travel plans, but not enough for the energy to peter-out)

6. There are NO local Republican conventions/caucas or other important meetings held on or around April 15 so people will NOT miss any delegate election meetings. (see http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/events.phtml?s=c or http://www.ronpaulforpresident2008.com/pages/action.html#STA... ).

7. In the time between April and July not only will several states vote in a caucus/primary, but there will be county (followed by state) conventions still to affect. (Many, if not all, will have passed by July.)

8. We already have videos, emails, and other things surrounding a BIG stand on April 15th...all we would have to do is move it to Washington.

9. People already plan to miss work.

11. We already have international support for April 15th...

12. People driving from the West Coast can drive all weekend and make it to the march on time.

13. Having it on a day that government officials work (instead of a weekend or holiday) is important.

14. Cheaper airfair on weekdays than weekeneds.

15. It's not a holiday, so people won't be busy, rentals will be available and flights will not be booked...

16. The meadia will either cover us or the lines at the Post
Office...seriously, we have a chance to grab media attention BEFORE the states are finished voting!

17. It won't be TOO hot, especially for those of us not used to DC-type heat. (summer=a lot of people w/ heat exhaustion...April 15th is late enouh we won't freeze, but early enough the sun won't cook us)

18. People will be getting their Theft Day refund...to use towards funding an anti-Theft rally!

19. It will keep people more tightly focused because we all know this event, and it can/will be used to advance using loosely related agendas.

20.. To wait with a march on Washington until July 4 means loosing valuable time to get/use media attention. (which means that even if Ron chooses a different day for the BIG march, we must make our own stand!)

21. By April 15, the Texas primaries of March 4 to defend the congressional seat will be over, so Ron Paul and his campaign will be freed-up to particpate/help in an April march/rally.

22. Having a march already on April 15 (and not wait until June or July) would leave the possibility of having a SECOND march on Washington on July 4 (3 months later)...or a march on St. Paul in early September. (The further out we put our first big event, the less time that we have to organize a second one...no matter WHAT that is...)

23. We are in a critical situation right now that is only getting worse (financial markets, dollar collapse, national ID card implemented soon, foreclosures, people starving b/c of taxes, etc.). That's why the sooner we make a turn around, the less the damage can be done. I am sure that if Ron Paul knows that people in this country are "hot" to march on Washington and that a huge number will show up he will be the first one supporting the idea of having a march the soonest possible (in April but AFTER the Texas primaries) rather than only in July.

So, I guess it all comes down to us. Now that you have heard my ideas on why April 15th is so important, make it a note on your calandar. Go support it in YOUR city!
