Really Interesting Deadlines Sneaking By Us

I got this from the campaign site under the "States" tab:

"Nevada State Convention Process
State voting strength? 34 total delegates
10 base at-large
9 re: 3 congressional districts
3 party
12 bonus
What are all the relevant dates?
Precinct Caucus: January 19th
County Conventions: February 18th – March 4th
State Convention: April 26th
District Caucus:
Delegates to the national convention are not bound
What is the process for someone to become a delegate to the national convention?
There are precinct caucuses that elect delegates to the county convention. You should run to get elected to the county convention.
The county convention delegates elect delegates to the state convention.
You must submit an AL filing form to the nominating committee of the state convention to be considered as an AL delegate to the national convention. The deadline for filing is March 30.
At the state convention the nominating committee will submit to the convention all the names of candidates for AL delegate. There may also be nominations for delegate to the national convention made from the floor of the state convention.
CD delegates are elected by district meetings held at that state convention."
______

Note that there is still time to be an at-large delegate. On the other hand, when I looked at Louisiana, another date just went by:

"You do not need to be a delegate to the state convention to run for delegate to the national convention. To serve as a District Delegate or district Alternate Delegate, the only requirement is that you must be a registered Republican and you must be nominated by a state convention delegate from your congressional district. To be nominated for delegate or alternate delegate, a delegate from your congressional district must nominate you by filling out the nomination form and returning it to the Republican Party of
Louisiana by February 11, 2008."

Folks, go to your state's tab at RonPaul2008.com and see how to get in there. You may still have a chance to go to a state convention and become a delegate to national because other delegates drop out or don't show up or they never filled all the slots.

What happens is your state GOP wants to fill every delegate slot they can with people from their state! Otherwise, those people from California will nominate the wrong person or make the wrong changes to the bylaws! (Darn those California delegates.) If you are willing to show up at the state convention (or, as you see above, you don't even have to do that) and then go to represent your state at National, you may well get your chance.

We have the personell to do this.

.

Didn't realize this....

I'm heading straight to my state in ronpaul2008.com and check this out....suggest all do the same.

I was browsing Alaska

Their convention is in one month. We did well there and none of the county delegates are bound. That means we stand a chance of selling them on Ron Paul at the state convention.

Some of these state conventions will start happening before voting or caucuses in later states. Good news here can still happen in time to help us. Make sure that if you become a delegate, you show up!
