Ron Paul 2008 has formed its March Exploratory Committee and is giving careful thought to the best date, specific format, and other details of the upcoming Ron Paul freedom march. We’ve also set up a new e-mail address for the committee, so supporters can send their ideas, suggestions, questions, etc. Please remember that the committee has a lot of information to sift through even before suggestions start pouring in, so be patient. This will be a great event, and it requires careful planning.

I HAVE A LARGE FAMILY
but there is NO way im taking them to the march .....look folks this is not sunday ice cream social....this is a march against the establishment and i absolutely believe they will use provacateurs to initiate violence against the crowd and the risk of harm by tasers, LRAD and batons is just too great to risk any harm to our children,,,,all the kids may learn from attending is just how evil men can be....please leave them home or with gramma and grampa where they will be safe,,,,please, im begging you to rethink it

Pull your kids out of school
and take them with you to the march. Make it a protest to the public school system. Besides, they will learn much more from being in the march than they would being in class. Instead of learning "history", they can be a part of making it.
Field Trip`
You can make it a school day and call it a field trip.. That's what I am going to do.. woot woot...
Children Safe At This?
With the ways things are going with the Gestapo, do you feel it will be safe for our children to attend with us?
Yes
It will be safe... I promise I wont throw water balloons at them lol.. kidding my kids love to do that .. But this will be a friendly march and they will get to see their parents standing up for something that our country is gradually losing.. Happy day to ya!
I Think Not

Of course there needs to be some age considerations by responsible parents -- I know I personally wouldn't want to bring my six young grandchildren along even though they have every right to be there same as I do. That's just too many people to me moving around in and too many people can make for a wild ride at times. And then there's all that missing children disappearance thing to consider. I would think it wouldn't be such a good idea to treat this as a pic-nic or a Sunday stroll. But that's just me talking.

I'm bringing my child. I
I'm bringing my child. I think it will be safe. I trust all of you to protect me! In return, I will protect you.
Ride Sharing // Help Others Get There & Back

For me the distance to travel is of no concern (I live @ 80 miles from DC) but for others it is certainly a BIG PROBLEM -- would be a good idea if folks opened up their hearts (and cars, etc) and provided transportation to and from the march. Perhaps a bulletin board (here in the forum) for those having space to share and exact location for meet up might be a feasible plan to consider. Or maybe some of that RON PAUL $$ donations we've provided to-date might be used to rent multiple bus transport -- that might be even a better idea, I think, than sharing a ride with complete strangers. I know that parking for automobiles is entirely out of the question in DC -- I have trouble finding a parking spot just when visiting museums in the area.
Still there's the matter of lodging to consider for long distance travellers isn't there. Maybe a bit more of those $$ for discount hotel space. I can see the problems of transportation and lodging taking a monster turn just thinking about those as potential problems. Maybe getting permission to set up circus/revival tents on the Mall might be somehow possible -- for lodging. It could all work out couldn't it -- somehow; I would think so. Maybe each person travelling long distance might be encouraged to bring a sleeping bag and necessary items for a one night stay over. A massive amount of food necessary to feed all those people is another problem -- and then toilet facilities. How in the hell are these things normally approached?
Vote RON PAUL 2008
I like some of their ideas
-Bring lots of camcorders
-Buy Ron Paul's book, read the book, bring the book
-Wear a tag - "Talk to me about": ..then a couple of things you're interested in..and try to connect as much as possible, exchange emails and numbers
-Bring a stack of $1 bills for a big bonfire outside the Fed
-Wear gold
-Bring the Constitution
Let's hear from the committee
The date, time,place please.
Interest is starting to fade.
Let's start to accumulate names
March
I would keep the march date away from major holidays like July 4th..DC is mobed on major holidays and there is no sense spending all day stuck in traffic..Also, when huge crowds are expected in DC security is also tightened..On a less crowed day we would be seen as a less threat to anyone and probably would be more visible and allowed more freedom to protest...Also, I think a lot more thought needs to go into the EXACT theme of the march !
me too....
I'll be there too. I can't wait. I'll bring the entire family. Ron Paul rocks!!!
Count me in! Ill be marching
Count me in! Ill be marching side by side with Ron!

Attend a Church of your choice this Saturday
On "march" date:
Thinking about it, first week of May or so may be best date: Time to plan it and weather still not too hot. It shouldn't be a particular date in history. It should be a date we choose and call it "Ron Paul Freedom Day." I can think of no better tribute to one of the greatest Americans this country has ever seen.
Any agree?
Bob W., Naples, FL
I agree with most
of what you are saying, except, this is a big country and there will be lots of driving to be done and everyone cannot leave their kids at home, so I am thinking right after school is out. Many more attendees after school and college is out. Early, early June??
June is better than May
May conflicts with college/university finals. It would be kinda dumb to automatically eliminate so many supporters, many who will be willing and able to participate. The campaign has already harnessed college power in Iowa and NH. Commonsense says more people will be able to attend after school is done.
I'd personally prefer earlier but it doesn't make sense.
March date
I agree May
Pick a date and let's get going.
What About This
A Modest Proposal:
Ron Paul Revolution:
“March to Restore the Constitution”
June 21, 2008
VISION: Restore the Constitution and Bill of Rights for Our Children
MISSION: Get out Ron Paul’s message, break the MSM blackout and educate America
STRATEGY: A red, white and blue Freedom March on Washington to “Restore the Constitution and Bill of Rights” led by Ron Paul and Rolling Thunder to Mall for speakers and concert
TACTIC: Follow-up red, white and blue July 4, 2008, Ron Paul Revolution Picnic with speakers and concerts on each state capitol’s lawn
These dates provide both symbolism and practicality. Other weekends in Washington will be described by MSM as mostly tourists to minimize our numbers. When our nonviolent Revolution arrives we want them to know how many we really are without leaving any doubt. The July 4th follow-up would probably be huge after Washington and give those at home an opportunity to join us to let MSM know our numbers continue to grow. Ron Paul Revolution media must secure our broadcast streaming over the internet to every available media outlet for simulcast to the world. It’s time to put up, show up, stand up and be counted like our founding fathers and mothers. I believe we could include the convoy from the west which would grow moving east and parade into Washington with over 1.5 million people in attendance. The July 4th Revolutionary Picnic easily could draw over 50,000 people to most state capitols that Friday and would force local and state media coverage through the weekend. It is not just about an election; it’s about restoring our God given Rights and the Constitution for our children. I believe we are many more than what we think or imagine. Truth is on our side and it is very powerful. It’s time for We The People to do what is Right for US and our children.
The Plan
Here's the entire plan: It includes three (3) events. First, the March to Restore the Constitution on June 21, 2008, to Washington. Next, reinforce it with the July 4, 2008, Ron Paul Revolution Picnics at each state capitol. And finally, a huge march with a mass rally of Ron Paul Revolutionaries surrounding the Republican convention in St. Paul, MN in September. That should get us MSM attention, educate the public and let the world know we represent millions of Americans. Much can happen between now and Election Day!
That sounds pretty cool. Good things come in threes =)

We too!
Count me and my family in as well!
My son, wife, and I
will be marching for freedom alongside of everyone marching. If someone gets violent, it will be the adults jobs to sustain the person until the authorities can take them away. We need to have this march done in an orderly fashion in columns and have people volunteer to be security every few coumns. Security personnel will need some type of shirt for this or distinguishing mark handed out to them before the march, so they are not copied by plants in the march. If you are not security, and some craziness breaks out, your only responsibility is to get out of the way and realign with the person(s) next to you. Security will hold the man or woman until the police arrive. Let's march people, I am INNN!!!!
Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine
The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!
Peaceful March
There is already great discussion about training security personnell the way that we did delegate training.
Anyone with any martial art/other useful training should contact their meetup group and offer to train willing individuals to peacefully subdue someone without injury to themselves OR the person they need to subdue.
By being prepared we CAN have a peaceful march, no matter what.

March on Washington I suggest April 16th

at an all time high!
Another perspective on the march
I posted the link at the bottom of this post because I liked the writer's idea of creating a political organization of our own and a conference to educate and empower. We need somewhere to go after a march. What is the end result?
I do disagree with the writer that this march is pointless. It sends a message to Washington that we are a movement of informed and dedicated citizens who love America and the freedom she stands for, not isolated groups of the "Fringe-element."
However, we need to be careful and aware when we march. I recommend not bringing the kids. Consider possibility of "plants" in the crowd who may become violent (see this link for example- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm2si152ncQ )
When we march, bring video recorders, voice recorders, extra film and batteries. We need to document the truth. I believe we need to go to Washington DC to experience the size, commitment and energy of this movement, uniting us towards the goal of Liberty.
This march is not just about Ron Paul, but about restoring the Constitution. Invite other groups who are fighting for our freedoms, such as those in the battle over the Trans Texas Corridor and about to lose their homes and land (the beginning of the NAFTA super highway), groups protesting the war, the Constitutionists, people who are fighting against big media...I believe many would march with us to uphold our Constitution.
Pledge to march at RevolutionMarch.com

Marita

My kids are going too
We homeschool, and our two oldest boys will be coming with us. How could we let our children miss out on such an historic event? What a lesson in government... if only I could have learned all they are learning about our Constituion, our government, and liberty when I was a child. My 7 year old is sold on Ron Paul. He said that if he were president, he wouldn't 'charge' taxes, abortion would be against the law, and he would stop the war in Iraq, just like Ron Paul.
Jason
Ron Paul 2012!
I'm a homeschooling mom too,
And I'm really hoping we can do this as a family. I would love meet you there with my 7 year old daughter. She has learned about the tax on labor, the rights afforded in the Constitution (basic overview), and a little of our history. She has attended two debates, goes with when we canvass, and loves Ron Paul. She would abolish the IRS, the Federal Reserve, and sign the Human Life Amendment.--sounds like they would get along great.
