I am not embarrassed.

I am am proud that so many supporters are paying for all their own local advertising. This is so key to our victory.

We are spreading quickly and just watching the donations for the quarter are a little bit deceiving - don't forget Monday.

Monday is President's Day and I am off work. Going to canvass for the good Doctor and going to see him and UNT in Denton, Texas - almost too much excitement for one day!!!

I'm jealous...

but I saw him last Sunday in Lake Jackson, so I'll sit still...

The quarter won't be over until March 31st

Grassroots is spending locally

We just got three highway billboards and are working on a movie theater showing of Freedom to Fascism here. The Ron Paul campaign is not dead. We are using the money in the grass roots as well as donating.

We'll be here!

We can spend the money just fine on local ads,
thanks

$1000, Our Meetup group just spent that on signs

We are now passing the hat for another $1000 to run cable ads, plus we have spent on slim jims, ink and paper for flyers, etc. We aren't running out of enthusiasm, not even running out of cash really, just allocating it differently. The money bombs served their purpose, now we have to take care of things ourselves.

Yup...

Agreed!

I thought the same thing days ago! What's the deal? Are we effectively getting the word out about the March? Are there still people who think he dropped out? Come on, people! Donate!

I saw the counter jump up 25 dollars

That was my money,
Since then it hasn't budged.
Would someone like to make that sucker move a little?

Where are all the special interest groups

when you need them.
Already donated this week.

Yes it is. Even if one can

Yes it is. Even if one can only donate small amounts, one should. I donated again Tuesday night, and just sat and watched the ticker for a while. It was SO depressing. Wouldn't move at all for LONG stretches at a time. Had to take an herbal anti-depressant.

People are donating

People are donating to/funding local grassroots, local billboards, the congressional campaign, race cars, UFC fighters, slim jims, sign, saving money to attend the march(expensive), etc..

In general people have lost faith in HQ (not me).

And the GOP is trying to get Huck to quit

No one has asked Paul to quit.
They just pretend that he already has.

He hasn't, and could use a few bucks.

Donations

Huckabee has less than $2M on hand, Ron has a little less than $8M with no debt.

McCain has about $3M on hand with $4.5M debt!!!!!!!!!

Jane, those are Dec 31 numbers.

A lot has changed since then. Both Huck AND McCain have been getting much more money coming in recently.

And the $8 Million for RP was spent in January and on Feb 5th.

As cited elsewhere, Jesse Benton states that the only cash the campaign has on hand is somewhere around $5 Million, or the majority of what has been donated so far in this quarter.

Exactly where the rest of the candidates are cash-wise right now is pure speculation, or based on whatever their campaigns are choosing to tell the media (and which numbers may or may not be true, like the purported "loan" of $5 Million by HRC).

Just curious

...how one can find the amounts on hand.

Btw I tend to donate on the special money bomb days, but I do think this is a little depressing. Would like to see more Ron Paul presentations from him, infomercials, people invited to join him to speak who will rubber stamp his views, and as alluded to in another thread, paint a picture of what the country would be like with no IRS, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm a delegate and voting for him, just think there are things the campaign can do to inspire, so there would be no need to implore people to donate.

No way of really knowing... Jesse Benton said $5 Million

There is no way of REALLY knowing what any campaign has on hand at the moment (other than what they or their campaign chooses to tell the press)...

As far as RP is concerned, Jesse Benton stated they had $5 Million on hand in a few interviews within the last week or so (sorry no cite, but the articles are out there -- just google them).

And since word from various places is that there is either little or no advertising going on, and heaven knows virtually no travel or appearances (beyond the Georgetown college speech) within sight; well with a "tighter and leaner" staff, salaries should be down to $200K or less per month...

So they ought to have the majority of that $5 Million left yet. But until and unless the campaign chooses to disclose (or let slip) more information, no one can really know for certain.

And we have to wait until mid-to-late April for the 1st Qtr FEC filings, so confirmation will have to wait until then. (And same is true of other candidates as well -- for instance no one REALLY knows how much Romney spent after January 1st -- speculation says somewhere around another $70 Million, with some $60 Million being another loan -- but it's all sheer speculation w/o hard data).

Next Filing Due Soon - they file monthly

I read that the January filings are due on the 20th. Apparently, they are now on a once-a-month reporting schedule until the election.

IMissLiberty

IMissLiberty

Ah, I missed that.

A quick lookup confirmed that they will indeed need to do monthly filings now.

So that means we'll have a slightly better idea of what was spent pre-Feb5th anyway (sans last-minute media buys). But we still won't know how much money they have on hand NOW (mid Feb) until near the end of March.
