Whether you think you can

or you can't, either way you are right.

Did his rich dad

leave him money? And if so, did he donate?

;)

Policies but not charisma

Robert Kiyosaki says that during the course of history, only charismatic leaders have ever succeeded in switching a nation back to hard money after they started using paper money. Although he agrees with Ron Paul's policies, he states that RP lacks the charisma to pull it off.

In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.

I Think We Just Might See

A Rich Dad - Ron Paul event in the next few months.

Would be nice

but I don't think so. I've met him and several of his present and former advisors and my feeling is that he is very happy with his writing/speaking niche. He does well there. His comment about Ron Paul lacking the charisma indicates a deal-breaker to me. I could very well be wrong, I hope so. I like both Robert and his wife Kim.

Maybe a discussion panel could be set up between he and Ron Paul

Would LOVE and endorsement from him!!!!

All his books are top-sellers, even his wife's. Why? Because people talk about what books they read and how those books helped them!

Thanks BTW I saw this video

Thanks BTW I saw this video last week and I loved it. Cash is trash. Yes it goes without saying that we still need it but the point of that saying is to help people understand that savings account of fiat currency will not help you.

I agree

With Multi-level Marketing, these books would never have taken off. I'm not saying they are wrong, but I can boil it down for you:

1.) You can make millions in real estate
2.) You can make millions in other investments
3.) Working as a wage slave for a company = never get rich
4.) You won't be as happy if you never get rich
5.) There is millions of dollars worth of precious metals in outer space

What I said above is more or less true, but no real application (how do you make it happen is mentioned). So, go forth young man, and buy low and sell high.

The guy is interesting to watch and makes some valid points, but nothing is ever that simple. It generally takes a lifetime to get to the top (generally) and these courses seem to stress "get rich quick" ideals.

Actually, I have a CD where Kiyosaki' expounds the MLM

idea as a start for those who want to get out of the rat race. To find a MLM that fits and work your a&& off! Then you reap the benefits of your labor!!! And, grow and expand from that!!!

There is NO get rich quick scheme here or course!!! It's all about the education, reading, and honing and utilizing your OWN unique skills and ability!

There is no "get rich" mold! It's all about you!!!

You have to depend on yourself!

You LEARN from successful like-minded people and go forth!

Too Simplistic!

Have seen many of these before and usually only one gettting rich is the one selling the books vids etc...telling you how!

"I think we are living in a world of lies: lies that don't even know they are lies, because they are the children and grandchildren of lies." ~ Chris Floyd

Nothing simplistic about it!

Kiyosaki's has made millions, and lost millions and LEARNED from those mistakes.

Please read all my posts here for encouragement. E-mail me privately if you want a list of books which changed MY life!

Again, it's all about YOU and how much you want to work for your own success!

Another infomercial turd

Cash is not trash. You need it to buy land in the first place....Unless your family just happened to own all the land under Hawaiian hotels and you are collecting rent;)

Read up on yer boy there and get back to us.

Oh Help Me Jesus!

Another genius who never tried it - and has ALL the answers.... and a zero balance.

BTW - Robert Kiyosaki's Dad was the "poor dad"

not educationally, but he never thought of doing anything but working inside a system which failed him time after time. Counting on others for his living. Working for money instead of having his money work for him!

Kiyosaki's FRIEND's Dad was the one with an 8th grade education, but knew how teach and inspire his own son, as well as Robert Kiyosaki!

Robert learned, through many wins and losses, how to become successful. He earned his success - his real Dad died w/o money and debt!

There is NO shame in going broke; you want to ask yourself, "what did I learn from this?" and continue with that education! That's exactly what Robert did!

Education, reading, and using your own mind are the true keys to success.

With corporate ladders, all you can do is look at the big buttox of the one in front of you, who is in return, being pulled up by their own friends, while staring at their butt!

Guess you never read ANY of his books?

or are just plain retarded!

He's not selling anything!!!!!!

He and his books have helped MILLIONS of people and he only wants to help what's left of the middle class.

All his books, including RichDad/PoorDad will support my comments here.

I bought my granddaughter RichDad/PoorDad for Teens, and she read it all in one night-because she just could not put it down!!! Now, ALL her friends want to borrow it!

Yeah, but...

People buy books by Dr. Phil and Sanjay Gupta too! And they can't put them down...Strange. Must be a writing strategy at work.

"We are the inheritors of the American Enlightenment, which tells us that Individual Liberty always trumps collectivism in all forms."

Guess you don't read????

Never read any of his books, obviously. So don't knock what you don't understand!!!

I could give you a reading list which would change your life, as they've done mine. I now have my money working for me instead of working for money! Company rewarded me for 10 years in the industry by letting me go - most experienced, but also the oldest and highest paid!

Good thing I started my reading list the year before my target date, and was READY to get out of there! They only let me go four months before the date I had in mind, but, gave me a 3 mo. severance package. And that job paid $45k per year and I don't miss it at all!!!! That was 12-2-06. Don't tell me education/reading isn't key!

Education and reading is the only key to success. Read, Read, Read!

Turn off that TV - encourage your kids to read and not get hooked on retarded video games. What a waste of time they are!!!!!

It depends on what you are reading

Reading the right things / self education is the right way to go. I agree with a lot of what Kiyosaki says; and his books are definitely entertaining. However, his first books were written as pep talks for MLM companies. They have reading lists that basically get people all fired up to buy products / sell products. Again, I'm not saying he's all wet, just most of it is very general like "buy low sell high." I know people who have gone full bore by getting all hyped-up on pep talk books and then lost everything and had to go and beg their old jobs back. Most things come by education / experience / dedication / TIME and a fall-back position. Some of his books rail against education, some of which is valid. BUT, do you want someone that read a book and then decided they were a mechanic to drop a new engine in your truck?

I like that he opens the door for people showing the world has more to offer than being a wage slave. I don't like that the context makes it seem simple when the fact is that it's not simple and when you run your own show, you live it (on call 24/7). Also, education has some value if nothing more than opening doors; and you aren't going to know how to be a chemist / engineer / accountant without some formal training. Buy low / sell high is complex enough to have almost ruined Donald Trump, Kiyosaki's new sidekick.

Funny the first book I read

Funny the first book I read from his "reading list" was the Sovereign Individual by Lord Reese Maug. It was one of the most eye opening books I have read. * yrs ago this book predicted (through understanding of history) the death of our nation state. Robert Kiyosaki is a marketer that I appreciate. I never got rich from his ideas but I tell you truthfully my life is in a much better position due to his books. My son bought his first house at 18 yrs old just from reading Rich Dad Poor Dad instead of buying that new car he was saving for. ( no he did not get/borrow money from family). We saw the housing bubble burst coming in 2005 so he sold his house he lived in and always rented rooms (college town) to cover his mortgage. He made 100K and invested 25% in precious metals 75% for other entrepreneurial ventures. Just a regular kid not an "A" student, but he's inspired by the simplicity. It's true you can find flaws in his marketing, especially for people who want it all in 2 months, but there will always be people like that.

It's Lord William Rees.....

Mogg. He co-authored "The Great Reckoning". Along with James Dale Davidson.

Thanks for the testimony...

It is NOT one size fits all - it's about using your brain, doing something you enjoy while building it into your own future!

You and your son got out of it all that was necessary for YOU and him to be better off today!

There is no mold! There is no instruction manual! It's all about you and your imagination and goal to be serious about what you want out of life.

It is about BELIEVING in yourself, visualizing what you want, then go after it. It's about your own unique ability and mind set!

"Train the brain to believe"; "Success and failure are largely part of
HABIT"; "The more we focus on what we DON'T want, the more we GET what we don't want". Napoleon Hill, from THINK AND GROW RICH!

One more from Hill - "What the mind can Conceive, and Believe, it can Achieve". I call it the ABC's of success!!!

Right

That's his point "take the trash (cash) and buy assets that will weather the currency storm".

Why is

Ron Paul Racing still asking for donations? I thought maybe you would have sent them the rest of the $$$ by now !?

"I think we are living in a world of lies: lies that don't even know they are lies, because they are the children and grandchildren of lies." ~ Chris Floyd

You thought wrong LB

They started off sloppy and they didn't have a good plan. Real simple.
They are rolling dice and they want everyone else to bear the risk.

People unjustifyably accuse me of 'jacking people up" again only to let them down. They call me grandiose. That's not how I operate. Nor do I look for poor plans to bail out and rescue.

I'm not a gamber - with money nor people's trust.

Hey Daddy...

What happened to the very long thread regarding supplying videos to be utilized in a multi-million dollar advertising initiative by a private individual?

if you read

the thread, then you know.
This book is fab. It really puts logic in perspective for an easy yet all around helpful read...
