A very nice little idea:

Infiltrate the convention!
On February 13th, 2008 lynnopoly says:

Alright people,
We can, as supporters, stand and hold our signs and cause a ruckus for RP behind a roped of area; OR we can get VIP passes and infiltrate the system behind enemy lines. The Republican convention is looking for 8,000 volunteers, sign up!

Yea!

Thank you for reposting

Thank you for reposting this. It fell into the "dark pit of unread forums" and I truly feel this could be a major act on our part. We will be given passes and have access to hundreds of delegates. I have signed up, as well as 30 members of my meet-up group.

REMEMBER: If need be you can cancel your pledge in the future.

Hey, For Those of You Who Check the $3 Box on your 1040 Form

Here's a chance to see where it went. The taxpayers subsidize the Republican and Democrat Conventions.

They're much more extravagant than the Libertarian Convention where we pay our own way. Funny how spending other peoples' money is so much easier.

#1) Great Idea..and

I did hear that Libertarians in various states Saved taxpayers in 04 like a few Billion dollars...iirc.
Bob DeBrosse was OH first LP mayor(Piqua)...in 2004. The place got painted and cleaned up when he got in office. Too bad there wasn't more attention about him on MSM(locally), and his great efforts and improvements.

Please post on main page!

This is great, getting involved in the GOP is what it's all about.

Specifically we should be finding people to run for RNC. In Colorado, we have 2 open RNC spots at the State Convention.

In a couple weeks we should know the Ron Paul State Delegate count and be able to determine if we can elect an RNC member.

If our numbers are low (I doubt they are, I think we have 1/5th to 1/3rd the State Delegates), then we can push a "Ronald Reagan conservative delegate" for RNC member and maybe get some votes from non-Paul delegaets.

thats the webpage to volunteer

That is to volunteer with the city.

I think it's different then this:

which is a direct link to the RNC

Sounds Great

Good idea, lynnopoly, and thanks kylefeenix for bringing it up for proper attention.

Now, my question is: once we've infiltrated...what precisely do you envision us doing? I don't mean to sound too clueless, but, my guess is that as a GOP volunteer, we would be able to talk up the Republican Party a great deal, but may not be allowed to address delegates/attendees for the purpose of swaying them toward any particular candidate. I'd hate for a volunteer to go all the way to St. Paul, just to get the boot for "improper conduct".

Not that such a threat would really stop us from talking up RP :)

So I'm hoping I'm off base here with my concern. Just want to know what effective steps we could take once we're an official volunteer at the convention.

It's as simple as applause

Imagine someone says something positive about Ron Paul. Or Ron Paul gets to speak. A ROAR of support needs to go up.

Also, well-mannered, reliable volunteers are going to make some GOP super delegates (who are doing all this hard work, often unpaid) very grateful. This can go a long way toward earning their respect.

This is a great chance for those who are willing to help the cause, plus it's an education and an eye-opener when you realize that the "powers-that-be" are nothing but regular humans.

I'm still working toward

I'm still working toward becoming a national delegate. It's likely I'll make it to state but I'm not sure from there. Hmmm I wonder if I should volunteer now and back out if need be.

Get some friends to volunteer for the RNC

Then you can focus on your delegate post and pool resources come convention time - make a trip of it.
