Gaza is/was Israelie land from the 60's war as well as the West Bank territories. All recognized by the UN (league of nations) or whatever it was called at the time. Both areas are deemed their defense areas and once they were compromised it could be the end of Israel. I do not feel sorry for these Palistinian people, as their own Saudi brothers reject them. Hence they wander screaming for their own "state". Or the UN places them in camps, some eventually some have been "resettled" in other countries. The sticky thing here is that after that war, these "palistenians" were offered the land just outside these newly won territories and they REFUSED IT.

Under the former Bush, through the Mitchell plan the borders for Israel
began to shrink as they ceded more and more land for (peace). Bush has already stated "There will be a Palistinian state before I leave office. Recentlyhe paid a visit to the middle east. Nothing Israel does happens with out the blessing and/or arm twisting of the US. Israel has become dependent on all the "aid" we tax payers provide them.

Just 20 years ago the Isrelie gorverment payed people to settle in Gaza and it was turned into an oaisis in the desert. It 'was self supporting and also had a surplus of goods (fruits,flowers, veggies) that provided many a good income. Two or more years ago, more land was asked of them...GAZA. Some took the monies offered by the government, and left,while others refused and were removed by FORCE. Many are STILL homeless and with out employment. They lost beautiful homes and basically their livelyhoods they had established. Many were/are reduced to living in shanty towns or cargo containers provided by the gov.

To attest to the character of these poor Palistinians, the minute they entered the CEDED land, they destroyed all the greenhouses which could have provided them food and income of their own. They also blew up,burned or tore down many existing structures, especially churches.
Within literally hours they also began to launch rockets into Israeli cities!
Walls were built for protection. Then they cry they are isolated and starving. Technically, both are pawns to a greater evil lured and manipulated by all the "goodies" used as bait.
