* * * Huckabee Hoping for Brokered Convention * * *

"And my point is, if people say, 'well, he should have left' –- they said this of Ronald Reagan in 1976, when he continued to campaign right on until the convention," Huckabee argued.

"It was said of other Republicans in previous times. But, ya know, the rules are, that if you don't have the person that has the delegates to claim the nomination, it goes to a brokered convention. I don't necessarily think that's all that bad.''

good for him

I find it very hard to believe the huge conservative base in the GOP would want McCain and a brokered convention would prove that only ballot fraud got him there in the first place. If it weren't for the skullduggery at the polls it would be Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee contesting for the nomination right now, even with all that they can get to the convention and McCain will be finished. Everyone here that has been pushing for an independent or 3rd party run please take some time and go to www.givemeliberty.org Bob Shultz site where there is an excellent breakdown of the delegate process. McCain is just a hood ornament that can be beaten

yeah...that he is.

yeah...that he is.

true

what kind of race is it when you judge who wins a third of the way...........Why make it easy for one guy to role on through!!!!! You don't know, and Huckabee wants there to be some conflict, or else what was the point of running in the first place?!?!?!

Has anybody ever wondered if

Has anybody ever wondered if Huckabee is staying in the race because the establishment doesn't want Ron Paul to be the only one left with McCain?

Uh....No.

That would seal the deal for McCain. He would win most of the rest of the delegates with ease. Remember what Paul said when Romney quit? He said then that almost but assured that McCain would get the delegates needed? Well.....if Huckabee quits then it is a done deal. Right now, he's Ron Paul's best friend and vise versa.

Agreed

Completely agree, I think Huckster and Paul supporters should probably be working together right now in order to keep McCain from getting to the magic number.

I agree

yes be buds until the convention...It is a good thing.

I wonder that all the time

me too.

me too.

He can dream

Huckabee has to say that, otherwise he'd have to admit he can't win the nomination. And if he did that, how would he win enough delegates in Texas to claim second place at the convention ahead of Romney?

this is too good not to

this is too good not to share :-)

Confirmation it will be a brokered convention:

You have to listen to some Obama crap first, but at about 1min-30sec into it one of the top GOP persons tells you this:

I think they might have cancelled the Feb 28th debate

From wikipedia: CNN and the Republican Party of Ohio were schedule to have a Republican debate for February 28, 2008. However, it has been removed from the CNN debate schedule and it is unlikely that it will happen, since John McCain is the presumptive nominee in the mainstream media.

It has also been removed from HQ's website. Maybe we should form a coalition with Huckabee voters to try to get that debate to happen.

bump

We are getting closer to winning every day.
