Why isn't Dr. Paul spending more time in New Hampshire?
Submitted by nateclarke on Sat, 10/20/2007 - 16:13New Hampshire seems like the absolute perfect state for Dr. Paul to outright win. I don't understand why he isn't campaigning here more. It's a very libertarian minded state with over 50% of people registered as independent or undecided. He's also 'polling' at 6% now in NH. I really don't understand this strategy at all, it seems like he's spent less time in NH than any other candidate.

not right now
why is huckabbee having such a poor fundraising ability? because he focused on one state too much and thats iowa.just like tommy thompson did and it got him nowhere. i live in iowa and i know for a fact that iowans are extremely tight with thier money. if NH moves thier primary to december, its over for huckabbee because he will get ripped to shreds there and it will kill the enthusiasm in iowa then he will run out of money and crap the bed. he's done! even if he won iowa he will be broke and have no support anywhere else. ron paul coming to iowa right know is crucial, he will leave his mark there and move on to other states that are important. he knows he needs national appeal to survive, not just one state. and he knows he has time to go back to NH and hit it hard before the primary.meanwhile his tv and radio ads will be taking his place until he returns. i think his stategy is good and it helps his fundraising to have events all over the country. you can only squeeze so much money out of one state, you have to move out and expand to get more money.
Ron Paul must win New Hampshire!
I agree, New Hampshire must be the top focus of the Ron Paul Campaign and not treated so lightly.
New Hampshire has a strong tradition of bucking the tide and knocking down whoever the annointed "front runner" is. It is the "Live Free or Die" State, that is the perfect audience for Ron Paul's own message of liberty. It has a solid libertarian makeup, and the NH Primary does allow Independents to show up and switch over to Republican and vote.
Ron Paul should be spending much more time in this State, and really try to cultivate the buildup of a large movement here. If he spent a few whole weeks here in the State, he could then move right up into double-digit poll numbers in NH and be in position to pull off an upset.
Caucus states, like Iowa, are more controlled by the Party establishment and much harder for an "outsider" to win. New Hampshire is the place where Ron Paul must plant his flag and stake his Campaign on.
If Paul does not prevail in NH, somebody else will be coronated by the GOP and the Media, and then all the other efforts will be fruitless.
then...
where does he spend his time? iowa?
"we fear change, especially nickels"
Good point
.
If Dr. Paul does not do well in New Hampshire, that will dog down the trail.
At the moment, Obama has 9 campaign offices in New Hampshire. Ron and Jesse need to cut loose some funds and do a full-court press in New Hampshire. A good showing here is money in the bank.
NH is a must!
We have no better place than NH. Seriously, we need to clobber that state with so much RP activity that even the media there will know who RP is.
A win in NH puts us in the driver's seat, for sure.
A loss in NH means everyone will wonder if we can win anywhere, since NH is the ideal state for RP (at least it seems like it to me).
Gotta do it. We can still win if we don't take NH, but it will be a lot harder.

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.
He IS spending more time and money there now...
The Family Walk weekend just happened a little over a week ago, and my understanding is that he is stepping up the campaign there with Radio, TV and personal appearances as well.
BTW, all of the other candidates are NOT spending that much time in NH -- Freddy has been there a total of 1 time, Rudy only a few times, and Romney a bit more than the rest (though probably less in the future than their campaigns might like to as they are ALL going to have to be out raising big $$ again -- which is NOT found in NH.)
RP should campaign in NH like Huckabee and Romney did in Iowa
I mean full week around, then next week, then next week.
I still think, that RP has strategy to be second or third in NH, like he though he would be fourth in Iowa (too less time). ITS NOT GOOD STRATEGY AT ALL.
I hope I'm wrong.
