RP, the super highway, and the texas primary...

0 votes

according to lou dobbs' piece on the superhighway, texans were shown to be overwhelmingly against the project...

has RP made it clear to texans that he is the only guy who is with them? via radio and tv waves?

any texans here that can post an update regarding how RP is capitalizing on this?

there have been many townhall meetings there--

has RP let people know that he was laughed at by the republican establishment for having a runaway imagination and conspiracy theories on this issue... that they LAUGHED AT HIM?? and in turn laughed at texans?

if i was a texan- the laughter by the other candidates regarding the superhighway would be enough to throw my vote to RP... is that the case in texas--??

RP needs to run ads stressing the fact that the government thinks they are all crazy---

Makes me sick

How those clowns laughed at him during the debate regarding the Trans Texas Corridor (TTC)/NAFTA Super Highway question.

I just hope people in Texas (and Oklahoma!) who've been seeing those government land surveyors on their property for the past couple years know what's really going on.

I agree that he needs to address the eminent domain concerns of his constituents, HARD! Blocking Federal funds for the TTC is the best first step in preventing this monumental theft of private property. Only Ron Paul is addressing this, and has addressed this for years now.

Texans hate it.

Here you go

Do not give into evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.

Governor of Texas

seems he won't be too popular if he is supporting the Highway... Did he endorse this Chris Peed-on meathead?

"I think we are living in a world of lies: lies that don't even know they are lies, because they are the children and grandchildren of lies." ~ Chris Floyd

The Governor....

Not that's a touchy subject around here.

He won with 39% of the vote in a 4-way race. He's called either "39% Perry" or "Governor GoodHair" (he's got GREAT hair, but that's been about his only good attribute so far).

He's the one that's pushing this project through; he's the front-man for the beltway special interest groups that want this. The citizens of Texas have certainly spoken out that we DO NOT want it.

He endorsed Guiliani very early on.....Then more recently endorsed McWar.

Common belief is that he's looking for a Cabinet position....or maybe even a VP slot. No way he'd win an office here again with this TTC thing.

The sad part is...

Just to show how utterly controlled media is (nationally and locally), the Dallas area has reported NOTHING on the Trans Texas Corridor.

I dare say 80% of people who live in Texas don't even know about it.

The only people who know about it are the ones directly affected by it, from the government taking their land. Unbelievable how controlled our media is.

I had read some time ago

I had read some time ago that foreign interests were buying small news outlets along the corridor to control information.

thanks...

i guess?

Eastern Oregon is Ron Paul Country!

Trust the Campaign

Remember the radio ad he ran in Nevada, about how he opposed the forced federal dumping of nuclear waste in Nevada? I'm sure he is or will do something similar for Texas. He knows his district.

IMissLiberty

IMissLiberty

then it should be a landslide...

Unfortunately

Fortune Favors the Bold

The TX 14 has been rezoned to include the southern suburbs of Houston. Alot of these people work at the NASA base nearby. Furthermore, Houston media has been VERY anti-Paul, especially the Houston chronicle, which I believe is a News Corp outfit. They have been trying to push the idea that that the corridor will be good for Houston, as in increase it's significance as a shipping port. They also have been selling the notion that this will help decongest the coastal evacuation routes. Alot of the Houston suburbanites aren't the "traditional" Texans, there are alot of out of staters who don't care much for Texas farmers and think that the area between Houston and Galveston needs "modernization."

Fortune Favors the Bold

Houston doesn't want it

They're just thrilled that it's going AROUND them. Right through rural Texas.

There's a "segment" headed from the Houston Ship Channel east of Houston through the Piney Woods of east Texas that will meet up with the "segment" that by-passes to Houston's west; both will meet way north of Houston.

Problem is: most people in Texas don't know about this thing.

When TxDOT did their Phase I Public Hearings, they had maybe 20-30 people show up....No one knew.

Local activists did a great job of getting the word out for the Phase 2 Public Hearings and people are pissed about this thing. They're working hard to get the spotlight shined on this special-interest disaster.

The RP groups have been involved from the beginning, including some of the protests that were organized. The "Family Farms" slim-jim addresses the issue of eminant domain and were handed out by the hundreds at these Public Hearing events.

Video of one of the protests here: http://www.saveourtexas.com/

So in answer to your question: Yes, RP supporters here are letting people know.....But canvassing is SLOW going and televised or print ads from the campaign would cover a lot more area in the short time we've got left before our primary on March 4th. I'm hoping for something along those lines here.

Either way, I'm in this for the long haul: working FOR liberty and AGAINST the TTC.

wow...

only a crash will wake people up...

i am becoming more and more convinced...

there are alot of ignorant people out there...

Let RP remind Texans about Alamo..The Texas Revolution!

"In circuit motorsport, a driver has..."Paul position" when he or she starts a race at the front of the grid."

Wonder what ManicCain would say to Texans on NAFTA SHwy....

"In circuit motorsport, a driver has..."Paul position" when he or she starts a race at the front of the grid."

McInsane would say...

"My friends, there are gonna be more roads. Huge roads. Highways. Super-highways, even. And they will take over your land, my friends. But if the American people are OK with that, then I am OK with that. And I am telling you that the American people are OK with that, because I sat down with them recently and they told me that they wanted to take your land.

Because we are fighting Islamo-fascist terrorists who want nothing better than to take over your property. And we aim to take it over before they do. And, my friends, you understand that the government has to take your land so that we can fight the terrorists over there."

with foresight...

this should have been the question to mccain in that debate...

From Lou Dobbs CNN Quick Vote...

Do you believe the presidential candidates in both parties should be required to take a position on the North American Union and the NAFTA Superhighway?
Yes 97% 6932
No 3% 185

Hot Daym!!

"In circuit motorsport, a driver has..."Paul position" when he or she starts a race at the front of the grid."

i hope the campaign capitalized on this...

Everyone in Texas

should vote for Dr. Ron Paul! The only candidate that will fight WITH you against NAFTA and NAU. Spread the word far and wide; all Americans need to stand up NOW; it is nearly too late. Help bring back "conservative" to the gop.

I'm thinking,

that within the next week Huck will be talking about it....

no kidding...

and he'll call it his stimulus plan...

Eastern Oregon is Ron Paul Country!

Isn't it funny that RP was labeled as crazy in a CNN debate...

when he was asked a question about the North American Union and the NAFTA Superhighway?

F__k you Dobbs, and F__k CNN too!

"Free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions." Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions of 1798

exactly---

are there commercials that have been made playing that clip of the debate...

excellent point!

RP could almost run on this point alone. Makes my post about the relationship study looks absolutely silly in comparison... :-O
Good job Paul Revere!
