On the Digg site that references the new Ron Paul Radio Spot Fundraising campaign:

a reader asked a reasonable question.

"What are you all going to do when Ron Paul doesn't win in the primaries next year?"

I wrote the following:

There is one alternative that many people may not have considered.

Ron Paul's not winning the nomination will not be for lack of support, which would be bound to grow if all the primaries had not been manipulated to give his campaign less time to get his message out. That support is massive, even though it does not control the Republican Party machinery. It will mobilize not just behind Ron Paul, but behind those individuals in the Revolution who will run for congressional office in 2008. So, the composition of Congress could change considerably in the direction of the Liberty Movement when the new Congress is seated in January 2009.

This same support could coalesce around a "FORMAL WRITE-IN CAMPAIGN" that would target not all states, because some do not allow for write-in votes, but key states with the goal of winning electoral votes sufficient to throw the election into the House of Representatives, because no candidate gets the required majority in the Electoral College. Should this be the case, it is important to note that the new Congress seated in 2009 will make the decision regarding who wins the election.

It is important to note, also, that most states require that a write-in candidacy be formally registered before a certain deadline, otherwise the votes will not count.

BOTTOM LINE: Even though, Ron Paul would decline to run as a third party candidate, he could be drafted by the movement as a Write-In Candidate. This could make the election very interesting, indeed, don't you think? Think of the news coverage of this groundswell of support for Paul in opposition to the manipulations of the voting process by those who have hijacked the Republican Party. It would be a peaceful "V for Vendetta" type, popular uprising, the likes of which have never been seen in the history of this country!

I wish...

I wish Ron Paul would turn that question around on its head and say:

"In a General Election? .... Well, mmm if Hillary does truly become Anti-War, which she is not now nor ever has she ever been, She voted for the war, she voted for increased spending, she will not take nukes off the table with Iran, she will not withdraw our troops from around the world and focus just on protecting this country, she will not get all of our troops out of Iraq in 6 months or even 2013......but, if a miricale happened and she comes around fully to my position on the war mmmmm you never know . But of course there is only one problem with that. Who could believe Hillary? The Iraq Regime change policy was Bill Clintons policy from 1996. Bush just followed the Clinton regime change plan."

Excuse me, I have my wishes....lol I think Ron Paul would get miles out of Pinning Bushes Iraq War on Hillary. I think he would get MILES of political avantage out of it.

Ron Paul Does Have a Way of Turning Things on Their Head

Dr. Paul did this neatly when he turned the "isolationist" accusation upside down and argued that it is the current foreign policy that is isolating us from the rest of the world, not his proposed policy of non-interventionism in which he advocates talking with other countries, trading with them and being friends with them.

Judging from the way that you hypothetically answered the question to which you alluded, I would assume it to be the one implicitly asked in the post debate interview by Hannity, viz., "If you would not support any Republican candidate, would you vote for Hillary?"

I agree. I think Ron would get a lot of mileage out of pinning Bush's Iraq War on Hillary, or at least on her partner. And, of course, he could do that very effectively

Original Third political party in the U.S.

Someone mentioned forming an "anti-CFR" party. Well, guess what the first third political party was in the U.S.?....

The Anti-Masonic Party. Go look it up on Google or Wikipedia.

The Whig party grew out of this one. By the 1820's, 9 out of 10 judges were Freemasons and they were overrepresented in positions of power. The William Morgan Affair was a big controversy, and we just about had them booted out of power. Obviously they just went even more underground, survived and came back.

It should be a law that anyone who holds an office where they take an oath to uphold the Constitution should not be allowed to be in an organization that requires bloody oaths of loyalty to the "brotherhood" (an oath that supercedes their oath to uphold the Constitution...that's why they break that oath routinely and therefore cannot be trusted).

Ron Paul is the biggest thorn in their side since Thaddeus Stevens.

The Makings of a Powerful Third Party

We hold the future of American Politics in our collective hands. We are picking up supporters and steam. It will not let up. The handwriting is on the wall.

If Ron were not to get the Rethug nomination, we will not stop!

All of the people who are on the UP side of the vertical political continuum form a coalition that has incredible power, as we have already seen, and it is growing exponentially.

It will not longer be a question of Left vs. Right. It will either be Up toward freedom or Down toward totalitarianism/fascism.

For more details on the vertical, political dimension, see my post at:

We will be a powerful force...the "One Up" party, perhaps?

Who has thoughts and/or another suggestion for a name?

Does anybody here know where youj ccan find the amount of increase in the Republican party since all the changes in the primairies structure.
I think we all should look to see if the numbers are increasing for
Ron Paul electability ?

Overreacting Does Not Political Cohesion Make

We agree on the GOAL, right?

Elect Ron Paul President!

No question about it, huh?

The question is how to get to that goal.

If one path is blocked, then it makes sense, does it not, to have other alternative paths in mind...to the SAME GOAL?

I mean, we do want to achieve the goal, come hell or high water or Hellary Clinton, correct?

So, let us not be quite so reactive, huh?

Fear, Not Other Candidates, is Our Greatest Adversary

Namslas...I replied to your comment below, but I have written something as another forum topic that relates to what you said and my remarks to you. As I mentioned, you seem to feel threatened by the thought of Paul's not winning the nomination and thus call for a pep talk and focusing on Plan A.

Your reaction to talking about a Plan B for the Election of Ron Paul illustrates exactly what we are up against when we confront the non-Revolutionary mentality that is fearful of loss and is security-oriented, and, then, we try to win them over. As I point out in the article, the negative reaction to the radio ads by many of the Ron Paul Revolutionaries misses their intent.

Read my article at the link below and see what you think about it. Perhaps, examining your reaction to mention of Plan B at this juncture will help you to understand the reaction of those who are leaning toward voting for security.

Porcupine...was it you who didn't close your italics code?

Somebody did not close the italics code and it has made every comment after it totally in italics. I am guessing it was porcupine.

Please stop taking the wind out of Plan A.

It's just simply too early to focus on a Plan B. This is all fear talk. We need to put our energies into how we can make Plan A work. Best thing to do is pretend there is no Plan B or C or D. There is only Plan A. Be Here Now. It's all about energy. Speculation is non-action at this point. It imposes a heavy tax on Plan A. It's more like being dead in the water than it is about Full Speed Ahead! This is supposed to be a rEVOLution. Somebody give us a pep talk!!!!! We need more pep and less poop! Go Ron Go!

Plan A is Elect Ron Paul President, Is It Not?

To speak of "fear talk," is, I think, to reflect your fear that all of the efforts now may go for nought, and you seem not to want to face that possibility. I disagree, however, that what we do now will be wasted and disappointing, even if Ron Paul were not to get the Republican nomination. If you would have read all of the comments with an open mind before your wrote, you would have recognized, perhaps, that this post was not intended to take the oompf out of Plan A at all!

A sub-goal is to gain the nomination, yes, but we must work not only energetically for the nomination, but we must work smart and remain cognizant of the contingencies that we may not be able to control.

However, as I suggested before, we need to be focused in the now, but we must not wear blinders. We must remain able to consider the contingencies of the future, so that we achieve the ultimate goal. The nomination, given all of the shenanigans of moving the primary dates, etc., may be out of our control, but the presidency is not, if we keep our eye on it, and not on a specific path to it!!!

Keeping our eyes on the ultimate goal is the best tactic. The paths to it may vary.

Nonetheless, I do say "Full speed ahead" to secure the Republican nomination, if it is at all humanly possible. If so, WE WILL DO IT!

If not, then activate Plan B....if there is one!

see my other post - election strategy plan a nominate = delegate

Ron Paul is My President

I think Ron Paul will win.

I think Ron Paul will win. If he doesn't, I'll probably just hurry up my plans to move to New Hampshire with the Free State Project...because a loss will prove that we're spread too thin and the masses of liberty activists need to UNITE to enact real change.

But again, I feel good about what's happening.

"I am a friend of the Free State Project. Check it out...and if you like it, join and continue the effort!" -- Rep. Ron Paul

"I am a friend of the Free State Project. Check it out, join and continue the effort!" -- Rep. Ron Paul

what is the latest date you can file or announce running third party? if it would take 100 million to do it, and we have nearly 9-10 months to raise it after the primary,( if ron paul doesnt win the nomination),could he just say "yep i'm in" like, in october ? or does he have to announce it right away after the primaries or soon after?i'm sure if we had that kind of money to support him and a huge amount of people behind it, how could he refuse? it would mean campaigning for him all year next year till then, but could it be done? i would do it!

Don't Know About Third Party Filing, But...

I suspect that it varies state by state. That is the case in filing a formal write-in candidacy. As I recall, the latter can occur with rather short notice in many states...but this needs confirmation. However, as I recall, some states do not allow for write-in candidates.

whoa man. whoa

No one wants to think about what would happen if RP doesn't get the nom. But, we need to be aware of the fact that we have been exposed to something that should never, ever be ignored. That is the idea of personal freedom. No other candidate will stand for this in the end. We all love our country and love our candidate, but we cannot let this movement end here. We must be involved in local government. We must be involved in defending the constitution along with RP. It's not the result we may want, but soon there will be no way that they can stop us. You and I are in a tidal wave of change, of innovation, imagination, pride, respect, and admiration for what the constitution really means to us as Americans. The better of two evils is beyond my scope now. I only stand for one, the constitution. And, dammit, I will not allow my fellow Paulites fall by the wayside if this doesn't go how we want it to. You now know truths that have eluded many for hundreds of years, do not be afraid or deny that it exists! We must be strong and have the will to carry on with or without RP. He says that he wants this to be about us. Well, let's at least give him that if we can't get him nominated. Long live the republic. Long live America. LONG LIVE FREEDOM!!!!

Geronomo!...gorongo1580!...LONG LIVE FREEDOM!

No way will we stop now! See my post at the top of the thread.

'Nuff said.

Tiger by the tail boys

It looks to me it will come to this.... NONE of the GOP candidates will have enough votes to take the GOP nomination. Thus it will be ONE rockin time after all the Primaries are done, and the DEMS have Hillary, and The GOP has ..... not one candidate who has enough votes to pull a 51% majority.

Then will come the Convention, and it will be back slapping time and lots of fake friendly smiles....and back room deals .... and Ron Paul will be holding three AAA 's ......and so Ron Paul and the Revolution will have some SERIOUS weight. Perhaps enough to even pull it all off.

SO ...Send your $100 Political Movie ticket in to the Campaign on November 5th, ....lets all make this ONE wild ride boys. We have the tiger by the tail and its going to start getting real fun.

Remember, the best thing we could do is save up all we have, send it in on that ONE Day Nov 5th. Then MSM will have a wild time talking about how Ron Paul can pull in $10,000,000 in just one day. After that the Revolution and Ron Paul will be on a Rocket that will make us all feel left behind.... but we won't be.

Watch for other paulies to run in 2008/9 for Congress. www Ron Pauls Across America dot com... Treg

Lets stop talking "Plan B"

All this talk of Governor Paul or Senator Paul is useless at this stage. We need him as President. Let's make sure that happens and stop second-guessing our candidate!

This is all taking away from the mission at hand - Electing Ron Paul as President and restorer of the Constitution. He cannot do that from any of those other positions.

I'm voting Ron Paul, period.

I'm voting Ron Paul, period. He's the right man for the job. People talk about wasting votes but to me the only way to waste a vote is to not vote what your heart and mind tell you.

I am free only because I choose to deal with the consequences of my actions. I do not fear death, I fear life without liberty.

be careful

i think things are still up for grabs if huckabee takes iowa.
We should look to see what to do to grab up his voter base, tancredo and hunters on key issues outside of iraq....

Romney could crash pretty quickly in iowa if huckabee, thompson and paul, tancredo eat up his voters.

That is the wonder of iowa with the caucus. If you do not have enough support in a region you can loose all your votes.

Not getting a top 3 for Romney would kill him...the bad thing would be that this would help huckabee. Paul should then would lead in NH.

But after that it would be a battle for all.

Still too soon for a plan "B" for me.

Here's my ball gazing exercise:

1. Giuliani will not sustain his support and will not get nominated.
2. Ron Paul by then will be #2 with Romney #1 as all others will be in deep debt and RP will get the nomination with a decent margin.
3. Hillary has enough against her to possibly collapse on corruption charges before the Dems vote. (*)
4. Obama would get the nomination.
5. We may see Ron X Obama in the end. (*)

If for some reason RP does not win the nomination I may end up voting for Obama or Edwards. Too soon to tell. None of the others in the GOP interest me. Not a happy decision.

(*) If Hillary ends up winning we are all screwed because she will be such a populist and get us so much further in debt we might miss GW! The bankers, of course, will be all smiles. It sickens me to think.

"You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more."

You MUST be kidding?

If you can't vote for RP you'd actually go with a socialist/totalitarian from the CFR????? This makes no sense at all.

Yet you all are giving me junk about revitalizing the GOP? My gosh, just amazing...

How about just writing in Ron's name?

What choice do we have then?

I didn't say I'd vote for either, I said it is still early for me to consider but I may end up voting for either Obama or Edwards because I don't see any other option. Well, I can choose not to vote as another option but that's not a good plan either, is it? It would be a sad day for me if I had to choose either of those guys but I would not consider anyone else in the GOP. Please let me know if any of you have a good strategy as Plan B.

Write-In Voting 101

Read my other comments in this thread about the technicalities involved in write-in voting. In most states, it is not as simple as writing with your pencil.

Is CFR... Pretty sure he wants to bomb Iran.
The rest of your analysis is pretty correct in my book. Just the part about dropping out of RP's support, hurts my soul & heart.

I never said I'd drop out of RP's support.

My sad consideration is in a what if scenario where RP does not get the GOP nomination. What then?

"You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more."

Hold on, partner...Obama...Edwards...whoa now!

Neither will take the nuke option off the table!

Obama has voted many, many times for war....in fact, every time except once, to my knowledge.

He is beholden to big money and is not straight with the American people.

However, I do think your analysis makes sense. I firmly believe that Ron will get the nomination. We are growing stronger by the day.

But, I think that it will be Hillary vs. Ron, and he will destroy her with the war vote of 70% behind him and by virtue of his superior knowledge, intellect, and long history of consistent, principled action.

That being said....if for some unfortunate reason, Ron Paul does not get the nomination....we must fight even harder....and we need a back-up plan.

Priority 1...

Get him elected by whatever process our creativity can devise! And, the two major parties be damned!

I'm sorry guys...

A third party winning is almost impossible.

A write in candidate winning is so astronomical that it should be considered essentially, zero.

If Hillary and Giuliani die of a heart attack during the general elections, then we can try the write in campaign. If not, forget it.

Forget it? Sorry but f--k that.

If you don't vote 3rd Party, if RP doesn't get the GOP nomination. Then who the hell are you going to vote for? - Democrats? The GOP nominee? As IF! They're literally as bad as eachother... So if you're not going to vote at all, then whys it so hard to vote 3rd party?

I suggest you all read this:
Ron Paul Is a Protest Candidate

If he doesn't get GOP nomination, he's running as 3rd party. Simple as that. Why has he been so addiment that he won't? - if there was ANY inclination that he would run; ALL his credibility as a GOP nominee would be lost..
Sometimes guys, if you are running AGAINST the system, you have to play it. He's sticking around, Freedom & Liberty are worth too much.
