Decreases in votes
I know I read that for the Dem recount, one or two counties had "confused" people doing the counting.
If people wrote in one of the Presidential candidates as a *VP* (a waste of a vote, except to make a point to some unknown counter!), those VP entries were erroneously counted as *Pres* votes.
Effectively, that meant those voters voted for *two* Presidential candidates, which is why vote counts need to be reconciled against the total number of voters who signed in!
The recount caught that error, so there are decreases for most candidates in those counties. In the grand totals posted above, some candidates had enough votes overall to "hide" that issue, while others with smaller numbers above did not.
You can understand why at the county level for the Dems it really jumped out to everyone!
wouldn't have helped any candidate after tallying up votes lost
but how is this possible, it really can't be justified that a candidate lost votes, can it?

I am not great at math
but how in the hell do candidate's lose votes? That seems very crazy to me. I can see gaining, but losing? Did someone decide to pass them around, I didn't calculate the losing votes to see if they would add up to place a candidate ahead of another. Keep up the great work!!!!!

most expensive 38 votes of the campaign
those were probably the most expensive 38 votes in the campaign so far
With zero chain of custody
Thanks for posting! Given the importance of Texas to all candidates, I wonder how reliable mailed-in votes are! How many of those can get "lost" (legitimately or intentionally)?
Given the Bev Harris videos about beatup boxes that weren't sealed, that were delivered by two men who raced around the state, that were left out of the vault overnight, etc., etc., etc., the "closeness" of the vote counts (when there were substantial differences for Dems) just shows they had long enough to simply *replace* the ballots in boxes to make sure the counts matched those that were published.
The NH SOS and other officials looked like a comedy routine of "dumb".
Did Albert Howard ever receive the total number of how many people *voted* Republican that the count should have tied to?
Guess I'll have to spend tomorrow looking at recent posts at www.blackboxvoting.org-
I think Devvy Kidd/NewsWithViews columnist is actively involved. I won't be surprised if she writes a book against e-voting in the near future-
