McCain BORROWED 8 Million FROM YOU AND ME
Wishful thinking on the part of McCain

he borrowed from a private bank, but the fundraising total is actual cash recieved from supporters -- which went to pay back the loan
Of course he did
there are 2 very important factors that have nothing to do with CFR, MSM or any other agencies.
1. Ron Paul all but conceded there would be no brokered convention. Thus he took the wind out of his own sales. The day he did that donations plummeted.
2. John McCain is on a roll. Mindless drones accross the US always back a percieved winner. Regardless of whether they feel he should or should not be in office. They vote for their party or convenience.
I tryuly wish this were an Athenian democracy, wherein you had to have some sort of 'viability' to be ablle to vote. In Athens it was Male, non slave and a land owner. Today I'd just like to see a minimum age, IQ test and a class on politics from a local college. Is that so wrong?

Our money is more valuable
This should be expected, McCain is now the frontrunner- the money is now pouring in to his campaign, not because people believe in his message or like him, but because that is what the party wants them to do. Ron Pauls 6 million is that he has gotten in the last month and a half plus the nearly 1 million for his congressional seat is from people he know and like Dr Paul and his message. Our money is from informed and concerned citizens, most of McCains is just because it looks like he will win.

when buying air time, a dollar is a dollar. the networks dont ask how it was raised, they just ask for a check.

between grassroots and bundled donations?

Is there another fund raising tactic we can employ besides the internet? How did candidates raise $ before Al Gore invented the internet? What are these $1,000 a plate dinners you hear about? Good salesmen know how to "close the deal". It's one thing to enlighten people about RP, but quite another thing to get them to ante-up. There must be something we're not fully exploiting here, but I don't know what it is......Ideas please.

All the cheapskates...
... who didn't want to blow their money are now coming out of the woodwork to support their nominee (annointed). They didn't want to put up any cash at the outset because they didn't need to. They were content to sit back and wait until someone was chosen by the powers that be. Now that he'll be going up against a Democrat, they'll feel more inclined to chip in a few.
I guess I shouldn't denegrate them for this. After all, they're just playing the game that they believe will work for their benefit. How wrong they are.
