Income taxes and inflation make it a lot easier to jump into a war, but it's sill possible to go to war without them. The difference is that before we had funny money in circulation, it was necessary to declare war to get the public to tolerate the taxes to fund the war effort.

The banks give you free credit for one month during which you can pay your bills, buy groceries, contribute to RP's campaign, dine out, and more. They charge you no interest if you pay in full the entire balance.
By doing this you are depriving the banks one month's interest for the money they lent you. If one person does this it may not have much impact. If millions of us do it, imagine the losses they will incur. They will go bankrupt in no time and this is completely legal.
Think about it. Never pay interest on credit cards. Use 0% balance transfers to reduce mortgage balance again depriving the banks of the interest.
If more of us do this we can bring this system down to its knees legally.
They still make money if you do that.
Merchants pay fees to have credit card accounts. If you spend anything on a CC, your bank gets a cut, even if you don't carry a balance and incur any interest charges.

There's nothing wrong with having debt
You don't have to go overboard with it and let it consume you. Debt is a great tool to get ahead as long as you use it for investment instead of consumption.
Banks and credit card companies are not evil. They're doing a public service. If you get into debt over your head by using it for consumption, that's a personal problem you need to work in.

then go for it... I'll take a pass. To me it's a tax you pay for not living within your means. I've enough taxes, thank you.

How is lending money not a public service? Debt is very useful for investments, buying homes and buildings, and starting and expanding businesses. Yes they make money through the interest, but so do you when you use it to make profitable investments with it instead of expending it on consumption. To say that loans are not a service to the public is inane.
Do you expect a poor, or even middle class person, to have enough cash saved up to buy a home in one payment? Or a person to start a business without having the option to borrow money? It's a good thing that loans are available.

I purchased my property without a loan. Same with my house, my cars, etc. I have 2 credit cards with a monthly zero balance. I'm what you would consider middle-class, I would guess.

I was wondering earlier today something along these same lines.
I personally only have enough money in my bank account to pay monthly bills. I have zero credit card debt. I have no bank loans. I own my vehicles outright. So it may be a bit easier for 'me' to do what I was thinking than most other people.
But here's what I thought..
What if every person in the U.S. just 'didnt work' for a 3 day period?
I dont mean take the day off with pay, or take a sick day, I mean take 3 days off without pay. That's three days less tax money you'd pay. Multiply that by everyone else, and that's roughly 1% of the total U.S. income tax 'bill' that would be paid this year.
I'm not sure on the exact number that the IRS pulls in per year from income taxes.. but losing 1% of that can't be a small item.
Could you survive with 1% less pay this year? How about 10%?
If you're making 50k a year, could you make it on 45k? Could it possibly even be that, if you reduced your income by 10%, that you would fall into a lower tax bracket - owing even less overall?
Imagine a 10% drop in tax revenues for the government.
Take it a step further. Make it a 4 day work week. That's 20% less tax revenues and probably a lot more when you factor in the tax bracket changes.
20% less taxes to waste. Could be amazing.
Now consider how thrifty you'll have to become to accomplish that. Pay your bills, because that is needed - but no more credit card charges - no more expensive (or inexpensive) new toys or gadgets to buy. Less sales taxes are generated, because you're not spending.
The economy would probably do just fine, because there would still be enough to keep the requirements alive. Utilities, food and the like.
But the big corporations - not having anyone paying for their toys - would be crushed under the weight of the losses. Less corporate taxes being paid.
I bet we could bring the government to it's knees inside of a year.
Too bad it would take everyone to do it hehe.

Given the socialist state that we are in and the intentions of the presidential candidates and almost all other politicians to increase spending/taxes, what you are talking about will take place. I think a lot of people are finding that it really is not worth busting your ass everyday just to fund this corrupt government. Give this next generation of politicians a couple years and I think you will see a mass exodus of people from the office to the welfare line. It is my goal in life to try to get as much back from these rotten bastards as possible. Compound the fact that less people will be supporting more and more entitlement people in the future, and you will realize that it is all downhill from here. The current trend is unsustainable.
