Ron Paul racing takeover complete

0 votes

As you all know Ron Paul Racing has been attacked since day one, now that we had our website in the top ten list for weeks and a deal with Kenny Wallace a group of people came in and said I was required to form a PAC a 527 to be exact. This was called Liberty Racing PAC formned in Wyoming. I transfered all the funds to this pac. As of yesterday I was forced out of the board, my website was closed, a new website was registered yesterday under the ownership of :

Kathleen Hanover
Communications Director
Liberty Racing PAC
www.libertyracingpac.org
media [at] ronpaulracing.org
(937) 275-2235

I implore everyone to ask for there money back as soon as possible from this PAC. I have no association with them and its a shame I let these people do this to all of the good people who donated. There will be more and I shall continue to press all lawfull options to correct it.

You all sound and look like a bunch of idiots. No way should you guys be doing this on here. You guys are lame.

Holy CR@P!!

It sure did smell like a duck!

Now they have crossed the line.

Tell them to give you your money back and if you still want to donate it to get more recruits please consider this...

I am not selling anything! There are no t-shirts to buy. Especially not for $26 each! It is only me and there are NO OTHERS INVOLVED. Thus, once we get the money it goes right to what we wanted it to. I am going to confirm 2moro, but I am relatively certain I do not need to prom a PAC. There is a part on form 5 that asks for a FEC ID #. I just have to ask them about that. It seems that to many chiefs and not enough indians aint all that good.

I will post the contract and receipt of payment once the money is recieved and disbursed. Everything will be posted on the site when the deal is done.

Peace

Does my burka make my butt look fatwa?

What happened?

Was it an attempt to crush Ron Paul's message,

or was it the actions of a bunch of GloryHounds?

what happened

I have read all the comments, and NO I don't think it was to crush rp's name. I do how ever get the feeling that (recon1) doesn't like playing by FEC rules.

Maybe you can help me with that one.

When I spoke to the FEC they told me that if all I was doing was collecting money to put RPs name on a fighter than I didn't need to form a pac. He told me that all I had to do was fill out Form 5. Then ColdFusion told me that the FEC ID# was on that form. I am calling them back tommorrow. Do you know anything about that? Either way I am gonna call them tommorrow. Get a name and post it back here.

Peace

This is soooo sad

Ms. Hanover and Mr. Conrad should both be ashamed of themselves for allowing this debacle to unfold in this manner. Seriously, who in their right mind would consider donating to this cause now? You've ruined it for yourselves -- and for those of us who believed in this project. I wouldn't trust shiesters like you with one dime of my money. I can't believe you would even take donations from Ron Paul supporters without having your ducks in a row FIRST. For shame. You owe everyone who donated to this farce a public apology.

sooooo sad

Its been my experience that It only takes (one person) (recon1) that doesn't like to Work as a team!!! , to mess up a great plan.

Go forward and give me the wheel

Get me a car, a helmet and a position in the pack and I'll take that puppy to the checkered flag. I did drive from Allentown to Pittsburgh in under 4 hrs to see Dr Paul back in August (conservative average is a 6 hr trip - shhh don't tell anyone in case we're being monitored by militant traffic cops who haven't reached their monthly citation quota).

With Ron Paul as my inspiration, and the good Lord as my pit crew, we'll light this thing up. Can I donate the prize money to the campaign?

bwahahaha!!!!!

Don't give up

even thought that was your hard work, initiative and project, don't give up!
The others have to return the money to the donors or bring in RP driver/car into the nascar race as promised!

You should concentrate on another project for RP, you learned a lot from this one and I am sure you'll find lot of ideas how to spread the message. Keep up the great work

At least they are RP supporters and not trojana I think:

About Liberty Racing PAC

Liberty Racing PAC was formed by race fans who are dedicated to advancing the cause of Liberty through the political process. We support candidates and organizations who work on behalf of a return to Constitutional government, the advancement of individual political and economic freedom, and the promotion of free market solutions to societal problems.

Ron Paul Racing

Liberty Racing PAC officially endorses the following candidates:

Ron Paul (Republican, Presidential)
Brent Sanders (Republican, US congress from Louisiana)
Barry Hess (Libertarian, Governor from Arizona)
Ed Burgess (Republican, Statehouse from West Virginia)
Dean Santoro (Republican, US congress from Florida)
Theodore Terbolizard (Republican, US congress from California)
T. Lee Horne (Libertarian, Governor from Louisiana)
Butch Paugh (Constitution, Governor from West Virginia)
Randy Russell (Republican, US Congress from Mississippi)
John Mitchel (Republican, US Congress from Ohio)

New ideas

Ron Paul Demolition Derby
Ron Paul Monster Trucks
Ron Paul Dirt Bikes

Come on man- there's so many things they can do with Ron Paul Racing-Nascar isn't the only thing.

Also, send the money to www.ringsiderevolution.com-$10,000 to get a Bruce Lee clone to kick ass. You gotta send the money before MArch 15, though. His site is legit-he's got all of his contact info on the site.

What a shame

This was such a good idea. It's dead now - no-one will trust it. I don't know what this Kathleen Hanover & co. thought they were doing but theyv'e destroyed what would have been an invaluable tool. Hope they're proud of themselves.

Congratulations you just

Congratulations you just killed any chance of Ron Paul racing succeeding. No one in their right mind will give money to your organization now. I suggest you refund the money and dissolve the whole thing instead of acting like 3rd graders bitching at each other and paying peoples hard earned money they gave in donations to a bunch of lawyers because you people couldn't get along.

70 pounds lost and counting! Get in shape for the revolution!

Get Prepared!

I talked to the FEC this week.

They said that if I am just collecting money and then putting RPs name on stuff that I do not need to be a PAC. All that is needed is to fill out Form 5. All donations under $200 remain anonymous and any over must be included in that form.

Its that simple. You don't need all of these regulations to put RP on a friggen race car. Don't believe me.. CALL THEM YOURSELF AND ASK!

Does my burka make my butt look fatwa?

We have great advice

From a man who has been involved in many PACs including the formation of some, Mr. Matt Harris. He has diligently advised us of the safest way to go about all of this as far as election finance law goes. Other organizations choose to approach it differently. This is the path we chose.

I belive you

This whole PAC thing was a joke, Its my fault I listen to them.

Liberty Racing PAC Received No Funds from Ron Conrad.

The Executive Committee of Liberty Racing PAC is extremely disappointed that Ron Conrad has chosen this course of action. We are concerned and dismayed at the thought that Ron Conrad's behavior may reflect badly upon Ron Paul's campaign.

We urge Ron Conrad to cease his accusations immediately. Should he make public accusations that may be defamatory or libelous, Liberty Racing PAC and we as individuals reserve the right to seek any and all legal remedies that may be available to us.

The Executive Committee of Liberty Racing PAC received the following email from Ron Conrad after the conclusion of an emergency meeting held by telephone on February 20th, 2008.

From: ron.conrad@ronpaulracing.com
Subject: [web@RPR:] Resignation request
Date: February 20, 2008 10:57:01 PM EST
To: web@ronpaulracing.com
Reply-To: web@ronpaulracing.com

As much as I’ve tried to explain the condition of this agreement , even
after speaking to Kenny today, the money is not the issue the issue is how
we present ourselves at the track to even have a chance to succeed. Having
that power removed by committe is the last straw.

Therefore, I have no choice but after much thought and effort is to resign
as Chair of Liberty Racing, transfer all funds in a lump sum to Liberty
Racing PAC withhold a not yet set percentage retainage to indemnify myself
from litigation and move forward.

Send me any paperwork for me to sign and I shall consider any offer to buy
out my interest in Ron Paul Racing, its domains , contracts and emblems as
soon as practical. I will not allow another to negotiate a contract
without my direct supervision or assistance nor accept any further work or
personal liability in down stream contracts bearing my name. This has to
come to a end and tonight is the time. Your PAC has 48 hours to respond.

Respectfully,

Ron Conrad
GM/RPR

Points of Clarification:
--The Bylaws of Liberty Racing PAC determine how meetings are run and how motions are voted upon. Most motions carry with majority vote. Ron presumably agreed to the Bylaws of Liberty Racing PAC when he filed the Incorporation papers.

--No individual officer or representative of Liberty Racing PAC may contractually obligate Liberty Racing PAC without prior approval of the Executive Committee.

Thursday we continued our attempts to purchase the www.ronpaulracing.com domain from Ron Conrad. We also received another resignation letter:

Statement of resignation
Irreconcilable differences in management styles once again has caused a major shift in the Ron Paul Racing stable. As of last nights board meeting with all in attendance I was barred by a emergency meeting to try and get a sponsorship spot on the Kenny Wallace car for this weekends race. The board feels its alright to continue on until the Las Vegas race to make a deal, to leave the donations down for over a week and vote against this weekends publicity including the presents of a star ARCA driver who agreed to help us in publicity. I disagreed. Its Five against one and I lost. I cannot continue to be associated with this team as assembled. The funds contributed to Ron Paul Racing have been transferred to the 527 PAC as the law demands. Again, I did my best to achieve the notoriety for Ron Paul he deserves though NASCAR and maybe the PAC can achieve what I could not get done. Therefore I relinquish all association from Liberty PAC and any liabilitys thereof. The Future of the name and domain of Ron Paul Racing is still under consideration as the best way to accomplish this delicate task without a complete shutdown of the site.

I will and am directing the webmaster he is no longer permitted to make any further changes to the content this site pending a full review as the domain and website is my personal property.

Thank you for your past support,
Ron Conrad

A few points of clarification:

--Although the domain name www.ronpaulracing.com is the property of Ron Conrad, the site content itself--the designs, pages, and content--are the property of its creators--my employer, Imagine That Creative, Inc., and Realm9. The site is used by Liberty Racing PAC with our permission. The pages are hosted on a server owned and managed by Realm9.

--We have attempted in good faith for the past 48 hours to purchase www.ronpaulracing.com, from Ron Conrad, and although he claimed he wished to sell it to us, he ultimately did not do so. We felt we had no choice but to register the www.ronpaulracing.com domain.

We then received the following email:

From: ron.conrad@ronpaulracing.com
Subject: [web@RPR:] Funds and other issues
Date: February 21, 2008 6:46:00 PM EST
To: web@ronpaulracing.com
Reply-To: web@ronpaulracing.com
I have transferred the Pay Pal funds to the PAC.

Upon further review of the current situation, I believe the best for the
contributors, the web site as well as the future of the Liberty PAC to
remain on the board in a advisory role, to assure a monitor while
remaining a voting member. This solves my issue with holding out RPR
website without controls. I belive this best and shall forward this for
consideration while I remain chair pending a formal hearing.

Ron Conrad

The Bylaws of Liberty Racing PAC do not include a provision for "un-resigning."

A few hours after we received Ron's second resignation we received the following notification from PayPal:

Our Treasurer refused the transfer because Liberty Racing PAC cannot be held responsible for actions Ron Conrad or anyone took prior to the formation of the PAC (which was stamped Feb. 11, 2008). We cannot be held responsible for actions Ron Conrad took at any time thereafter without prior approval of Liberty Racing PAC. And we certainly cannot be held responsible for his actions after his resignation on February 20th, 2008.

To date, Liberty Racing PAC has received no funds from Ron Conrad. We are not aware of exactly how much money Ron Conrad collected via PayPal prior to the formation of the PAC. We do not know exactly how Ron Conrad may have spent any money he received via PayPal for the Ron Paul Racing project. We do not know who contributed to him, nor how much each person contributed. Ron Conrad never shared his financial records with us, despite numerous requests.

If you have any questions about any funds you sent to Ron Paul Racing via PayPal, please contact:

Ron Conrad
15111 Pipleline Ave.
Chino Hills, CA 91709
(949) 228-6596

If you sent funds to Liberty Racing PAC via Google Checkout, your funds are fully accounted for and will be detailed in our filings with the Federal Election Commission.

In spite of this latest extremely disappointing setback, the Executive Committee remains in contact with Fitz Motorsports, and we hope to secure a sponsorship of at least one race with the funds we have on hand--those funds that were donated to Liberty Racing PAC via Google Checkout. It is our sincere hope that donations will pour in once Ron Paul supporters see us succeed in at least one race.

We remain incredibly enthusiastic and excited about Ron Paul Racing, and look forward to bringing Dr. Paul's message of Peace, Prosperity and Freedom to the NASCAR Nation!

We're in the process of setting up Ron Paul Racing at www.ronpaulracing.org. Please check back this weekend. (And please be patient, we're all working other full time jobs and doing the best we can in the time we have available.) By the time new site is up, we should have the capability to accept credit card payments directly.

We are so grateful for the support and good wishes we have received from so many people.

We truly believe that the best days of Ron Paul Racing and Liberty Racing PAC are ahead of us! If you've already maxed out your contributions to Ron Paul's Presidential and Congressional campaigns, we hope you'll consider supporting Liberty Racing PAC's first advertising project, Ron Paul Racing.

dare I say fascism ..

dare I say fascism ..

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

I'm not involved in this

I'm not involved in this little debacle (and glad to say so), but it's my opinion that you are crossing the line putting this information out here in a public forum, Ms. Hanover.

You may be putting yourself in legal jeopardy. This could be considered harassment, intimidation or even blackmail by posting sensitive and private information of "Ron Conrad" which should instead be settled with an arbitrator or in a court of law.

Keep this garbage off these boards.

Behind the scenes it is what we have been desperately trying to do. Mr. Conrad brought this here.

Agreed....This is not the place for dirty laundry

Does my burka make my butt look fatwa?

I have my proof

In the morning I shall file my response in total, I have a pay pal recipt including transaction number as well as emails stating the transaction to tresurer@libertyracingpac.com , Ms Hanover and I will be in court very soon i see by her responses. It goes without saying I was the founder, own the domain and have remained in control of all funds verified by Pay Pal, this trail is un broken and verifiable. The resurer Mr Simon is a trustworthy man I have full confidence in. Ms Hanover has registered the domain www.ronpaulracing.org, this along with the accounts will prove who has what. You have no chance of winning this fight troll.

PAYPAL funds

Most people that use PayPal know that funds can be sent to another PayPal account, ( this doesn't complete the transaction.). And yes you did send the funds from your account to LRPAC's PayPal account, but you had added in your comments, several stipulations on accepting these funds. I as Treasurer could not accept. Those funds were refunded back to you from PayPal not our bank account.. ....I am responsible for any funds that come in to LRPAC, ...... for complete and accurate records, deposits and conforming to ALL FEC & IRS guidelines. The funds you sent were funds you collected and that you need to report to the FEC, with Names, Addy's etc. Or refund the money to the Donors that made those donations to You ..(Also you only made a Transfer of $2,863.50 ) and i do not think that is the total of the donations you have on hand. Lets please stop this mud slinging. I will only post the facts as i have them. Mike Simon Treasurer@LibertyRacingPAC.org

Sounds like everyone is part of the scam

Just a 25,000 exit strategy.

if this was a scam, it would be the opposite of brilliant

This would be the most idiotic scam in history. A bunch of people join up with an already hurting organization and form bylaws, form a real non-profit and register it as a political action committee, raise thousands of dollars from Ron Paul supporters, and negotiate deals with NASCAR teams, publicize our names, and even attach our personal businesses names to the project for more openness and credibility. Bust our asses for weeks hurting our own ability to generate income, and then try to do what with the money?

It's really amazing how easily even some Ron Paul supporters have been sucked into believing the most controversial thing that is rumored.

brilliant

After reading ( all ) the post made here it sounds like Liberty Racing Pac worked very hard at trying to do this as transparent, and legal by FEC rules. Some people don't like rules! and as we all know it only takes one bad apple to up set the cart. It is still!! a great idea keep us informed

Next

Im going to call LB from Revolution Radio and explain in detail what happened, I will also ask he call up Kathleen Hanover to come on with me and explain her side.

We will see what happens next. I assure everyone this has been a learning ordeal the scum out here is thick. I wont go away until this is right.
