Senators,
Your vote against an amendment to the
Immigration Bill, 1348, to make English America's
official language is astounding. On D-Day no less
when we honor those that sacrificed in order to
secure the bedrock character and principles of
America . I can only surmise your vote reflects a
loyalty to illegal aliens.
I don't much care where you come from, what your
religion is, whether you're black, white or some
other color, male or female, democrat, republican
or independent, but I do care when you're a United
States Senator, representing citizens of America
and vote against English as the official language
of the United States Your vote reflects betrayal,
political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance,
dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism,
borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion
makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator.
Impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is
warranted.
Worse, four of you voting against English as America's
official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden,
Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd, and Senator Obama.
Four Senators vying to lead America but won't or
don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of
English as America's official language when 91% of
American citizens want English officially designated
as our language.
This is the second time in the last several months
this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as
political hacks.....unworthy as Senators and
certainly unqualified to serve as President of the
United States. If America is as angry as I am, you
will realize a backlash so stunning it will
literally rock you out of your panties...and
preferably totally out of the United States Senate.
The entire immigration bill is a farce...your action
only confirms this really isn't about America, it's
about self-serving politics....despicable at best.

PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING AROUND THE UNITED STATES TILL THE ELECTION.

I do not have a problem with english being
the official language. I have a problem with voting on it. Stop making everything bilingual. Every form, sign, phone message etc. etc. You do not need a vote, you just need to do it! In my humble opinion. All these votes and discussions and no action. Stop giving out the free insurance, money etc. Just stop.
"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."
John Quincy Adams
Quote from Theodore Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN
In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
To those who oppose
Voting against English as our official language is also voting for The North American Union, Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) and The New World Order, its what "they" (the designers of these things) want, this includes "Amnesty", "NAFTA"!
It opens the door wider in support of the Illegal Invasion.
Take look at all nations that are bilingual, see how well they are standing, compare. Their already coming to take your job!
.............
Oh, your saying that they shouldn't have to vote on this, o.k. I sort-of see that. The problem is, is that our English language is under attack!
But, what about banning all of the other languages that a person has to swim through, around, just to read English, the result of "NAFTA". Its disheartening and weakening, where have we gone!

If you support Amnesty, I have nothing to say to ya!
I'm not here to convert anyone.
Good for them, Government
Good for them, Government has no right to regulate language.
If you drive through miami
If you drive through miami FL you cant read hardly any signs unless you know spanish, it truly feels like you are in a foreign country down there. We truly do need some kind of law requiring at least a basic understanding of english so we can all use the same road signs, menus..etc.
These anti-english people are all NWO types that want to see America fall and it will eventually. Too many Americans, christians in particular, are just too brainwashed or naive to see what is going on around them. God did not say "let everyone of the world run over you until you no longer exist" but you would think he did listening to some of my fellow christians.
Ron Paul 2012
I know this is old
But I am trying to answer this question right now... And here is what I found from Ron on it
"Q: Do you think that there would be a practical value of making English our official language?
A: Well, it's practical because we can all understand each other. I sometimes think that those who attack bilingualism sometimes are jealous, & we feel inferior, because we're not capable. But we should have one language. But we, as federal officials, as a congressman or a president, we only have authority over the federal government. So I think all federal things should be in English. But when it comes to bilingualism in schools or the states, under our Constitution, it really is permissible. And the states can decide that. But under the conditions that we have today, I think it is good and proper to have one language, which would be English, for all legal matters at the national level. But this doesn't preclude bilingualism in private use or in education or in local government. "
I believe it was the first Congress in 1789 or so
which voted on whether English or German was to be the official language of the several states of the Union. It was a tie vote which was broken by a man born in Germany. If you can read this you will know what his vote was. Auf wiedersehn folks!
You're kidding, right?
You're kidding, right?
This is one of the many myths that exist about the country. It didn't happen.
What the hell are you
What the hell are you talking about? Those 33 votes are the correct votes. The federal government has no place and no authority to dictate how i express myself, plain and simple. Your anxiety over national identity is understandable but oppressing expression is just plain stupid. It's a no-brainer. To have that anxiety override one of the most vital and central aspects (meaning keeping the authority out of expression) of a healthy society is absolutely in error.
truly have never
understood this debate. I think it is a shame that the average european can speak three languages and many of us have barely mastered english. If you think this is a prelude to the NAU, I can see your beef. Otherwise, who gives a flip? When I go to the airport I read the English sign. It really doesn't bother me that there is a sign in spanish as well...
Partially true

Check it out, it is hard to determine what exactly was the motives on the "no" votes, but I still can't stand Hillary, or Obama.
GO RON PAUL!!!! I will never give up the fight for freedom!!!!
"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:22)
Yeah, you know, I'm pretty
Yeah, you know, I'm pretty much okay with this. We're doing just fine without a national language for over 200 years now...
I don't see that changing.
