I am registered to the Washington Post site. They have a database of all Congressional Bills and voting records. I just checked and HR1955 was referred to Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs on 27 Oct 07. Jane Harman CA introduced the bill w/14 co=signers...this database covers all bills in 1991. Also of interest is the "National Service" which Hillary & Obama has allluded to in their speeches. it covers everyone 18 to 42. That has been introduced in almost every session..Chas. and I have never given a crap until this election cycle. But juxtapose this "National Service" thing (sounds nice, huh? Think they're gonna' say "draft"? No way--political suicide!) and it gives me pause, I'll tell you that....
I'm not freaking out, but I'm paying attention.
As for HR1955: this is one of my personal favorites, because not many are paying attention to it. It has already passed the house, and it in committee in the Senate. EVERYONE needs to contact their Senators about this trash bill (s.1959)...ASAP.

Smart ass that I am, just about every time I write my senator I ask him if I should start packing for Guantanimo. I know it is ridiculous. There are MUCH closer camps than that!
