I just saw this, this is very impotent and urgent. Stage 6 is a video sharing site that uses the divx format. They have literately 10s of Tera bytes of data on their servers on that site. Stage 6 is one of the THE major video sharing sites on the internet that has the distinguishment of having a large number (10,000s-100,000s?) high quality videos including HD status 720+ type resolution. Far and above youtube quality. Dozens of video sharing web sites stream or link from this site.
And MANY RP vids on the net are in divx or from/on this site.
Imagine the loss of Google Video or Youtube, that is the kind of loss that this site being shut down is,well maybe a bit less but you get the idea.
Why should Ron Paul supporters care?
The Documentary section has 16,000+ vids alone on almost ANY subject but most importantly on subjects that involve Ron Paul and his message
The Fed,
The IRS,
The NAU,
Naffta,
The CFR,
ect.
"Freedom to Fascism"

THERE IS A WEALTH OF INFORMATION ON THIS SITE FOR THE EDUCATION OF WAKING UP PEOPLE FOR THE REVELOUTION!

and I don't know what you expect people to do in reaction to a business man wanting to shut down his business to pursue other avenues. I understand that this is a loss to you and to us, but it is the guy who is running the site the STAGE 6 site, it is his choice. You can raise hell about it, not like it, but what do you expect people to do?

I hate to think this...
But, I'm not a computery kind of guy. Was this site posting videos without paying for the rights? Was this a dump site of some kind. Even the History Channel stuff is not public domain. I don't mind supporting free speech and helping preserve important works of video, but I don't want to support piracy or stealing either. I feel if you are going to watch a video that had writers, directors, cinematographers, researchers, etc... then they should be paid for their skill. I don't have a problem with Youtube videos from networks, that is public airwaves (essentially until the digital thing kicks in...) But entire films or specials I have a problem with.
Edit: I'm just asking - please don't rip my head off.

A word on Copywrite,
Without going into a long legal discourse the point I would like to make is that the letter and spirit of the law so far as copy write and Intellectual Property are concerned is this ,so long as you don't profit off it but share it then it is okay, I know a lot of crap legally happens as corporations race to protect their bottom line from the digital age well tough nuggies. P. S. I'm not advocating entertainment but educational file sharing no one is going to go after you for documentaries. PBS doesn't need money THAT much.

Perhaps you should post a list of the content you've already downloaded and intend to upload to some other site (Google, YouTube), so that others can focus on content you haven't yet saved. If a bunch of us each grabbed a few items, we could preserve the most important stuff.
I'm sure a lot of it is already on those other sites, so people should probably double check before wasting time on redundancy.

Terry Hamel, who has posted here, is a friend of mine who got excited when he encountered that site. I've never used it myself but I do hope something happens to save it. If not... darn.
Definitely everybody who has extra storage space should grab a few lesser-known vids off of there while you can. The main ones will no doubt be available somewhere; AFTF and MM in particular are way too popular to die. :-)
