Debate?

Wasn't there supposed to be a debate on February 29? Are the Republican debates over? Who knows anything?
Thanks

Cancelled.
Neither the Republican Party, John McCain, nor the national press are going to allow Ron Paul to have any further vioce in this process. As far as they are concerned, the candidate has been chosen. Get used to it.
I really wish that RP had been more vocal in the CNN debate.
Hind sight's 20/20, but I was expecting that CNN California debate to be the breakout debate for him, especially right before Super Tuesday. I know that little prick Anderson Cooper kept cutting him off.
I think it would have been great if in the middle of the thing he looked over at Huckabee and said something like, "You want to go get a bite to eat?" and gotten up and walked off. I'm sure it would have backfired but it would have been fun to watch. But alas, that is not the kind of man Dr. Paul is.
walking out
I had the same thought...it would've been great for Ron to stand up, after being cut off numerous times, and simply state that "this is no debate, there aren't any debaters here. This is a sham and you know it." Politely take off his microphone, and walk off stage amidst the gasps and guffaws of the crowd, and of course the thunderous applause of his supportes on scene. Live, for all to see. It would have been huge. As far as backfire? I don't think so. Us RP supporters knew he wouldn't get a fair shake in the debate, he hadn't the entire campaign. But his standing up (not in a hissy-fit, temper tantrum way; civilized, polite, but firm and direct) would've shown other people the obvious mistreatment. Huckabuckabee used the situation only as a way to drop a couple one-liners, but if he was really, truley upset that he wasn't getting air time, he should've objected more. These aren't debates in the legit sense of the word. These are free commercials for the candidates. They lob soft-ball questions at them so they can knock em out with the same stump bullshit they've been rehearsing for months. Vomit-inducing.
Paul v. Huckabee
Well, that's just the kind of guy Ron Paul is, too much class. Huckabee on the other hand did point out the obvious double standard several times. I was glad somebody did other than Paul. If Paul had said something, they would have just accused him of being whiny.
They hate us for our freedom. Thank God the government is here to take it away!
