Jan Mickelson of WHO News Radio 1040 in Des Moines interviewed Ron Paul 2008 chairman Kent Snyder today about Ron Paul being excluded from the upcoming candidates forum sponsored by Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance.
Ed Failor of Iowans for Tax Relief joined the interview later to explain why his group decided to keep Ron Paul out.
"Congressman Ron Paul isn't welcome at the Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance candidates forum." Oversight? Nope. Kent Snyder Ed Failor exchange words. Lotsa them.

WOW
Ed Failor made some serious harassment alligations about the Ron Paul campaign and its supporters on that radio show. I'm curious as to what proof he has to back up those claims, besides his word. Which he has shown himself to be a fraud and liar, so his word doesn't mean much.
A lot of supporters showing support for their candidate is not harassment, the last time I checked...
Who knows, maybe McCain-Feingold did change that.
What about individual privacy
One of Ron Paul's strong points is his stance on individual privacy. I know this is mostly talking about the gov't snooping in your business, but I think on the philosophical level it also includes the right of a person not to be harassed in their home.
If he did in fact get lots of phone calls to his home, which I can see happening given how passionate people are about Dr. Paul, the persons doing that are deplorable, especially if they made angry comments to his family. I'm a big supporter of Ron Paul and his message, but this is just wrong.
That being said, I don't think these persons harassing Mr. Failor are a representation of Ron Paul supporters. We should make it clear that this behavior is not welcome for this campaign (which is built on individual freedoms) and not try to excuse it or say maybe he is lying.
It's just wrong. Don't do it.
Just a Clarification
I just want to make it clear, In my post, I never said I condoned the act of calling ED FAILOR's house. I DO NOT condone that, and I think this protest should stay strictly to their business phones, business E-Mails, and business Fax machines.
I'm questioning the fact that ED FAILOR made some serious aqusations. He said Ron Paul supporters Harassed his wife and kids. What does he mean by Harassed? Does he have proof of this besides his word? ED FAILOR made very broad sweeping generalizations against the Ron Paul campaign and its supporters. To be frank, I think he made himself out to be a total jerk off in that radio interview thats posted. Even the Radio Host called ED out for being "Lame" in his excuses for excluding Ron Paul, and then ED labels Ron Paul supporters as being absolutely "Fringe" and extreme. John McCain would beg to have the type of Grassroots devotion and support Ron Paul has.
He needs to admit he is wrong, and let Ron Paul in that Presidential Forum.
ED FAILOR is already being exposed for the fraud he is. So what he says about Ron Paul and his supporters means absolutely NOTHING to me.
Just had to clear that up a little bit.
Update from a Des Moines newspaper editor
I sent an e-mail about Ron Paul's exclusion from the Presidential Candidates Forum to an editor at the Des Moines Register newspaper, Carol Hunter. She responded saying that their news staff is working on a story about it right now.
What wasn't discussed
Ed Failure is one of McCain's reps in Iowa. Not sure why Kent didn't ask him about that. It's probably moot since McCain won't be in Iowa anyway. Still, it wasn't discussed. There is obvious deck-stacking going on in Iowa, thanks to Ed and his minions.
Ed cried foul that people called his home. The democratic process is not always pretty, especially when lame excuses are meant to justify excluding Dr. Paul.
So Ed got some "blowback."
Good.
Whoops
Somehow the above message got posted twice. Sorry!
I do not feel sorry for Mr.
I do not feel sorry for Mr. Failor. If he is going to be presumptive enough as to determine who is a "viable candidate" and undermine democracy, then he is NOT immune from being confronted. I called his office today---and he is NOT taking calls. Instead, they are being forwarded to voicemail. The Iowa Christian Alliance is not taking calls, either. Now, I do not condone any abusive language toward his family members. That is out of line. But if the man is going to do what he did and then try to not answer for his behavior---that is not acceptable. I say his fax machine should be bombarded with faxes, and his office should receive so many phone calls as to be effectively shut down.
What would Ron Paul do?
Kent Snyder did a great job on the radio with Ed Failor. However, Failor's case would have been even weaker if he hadn't able to state that some of Ron's supporters had been making angry, abusive calls to his home, to his wife and kids, at all hours of the day and night.
I've known Ron for nearly 20 years, and there is no way he would ever personally do something like this, nor desire that it be done on his behalf.
Ron is a gentleman, a class act, and that is one of the reasons he is so effective at presenting the case for liberty. If we want to truly support his campaign, we need to treat our opponents like Ron treat's his.
This outrageous attempt at
This outrageous attempt at censorship seems like something that Drudge should pick up...

I just got off the phone with Mr. Gopal Krishna.
He told me that he has nothing to do with the decision to banned Ron Paul from the June 30 Forum and that the decision was Ed Failor's - and only Ed Failor's.
Mr. Krishna said he would very much like the people of Iowa to hear what Congressman Paul has to say and likes Ron Paul himself.
He also asked me to do what I could to tell people that the Iowa Christian Alliance can do nothing about the situation.
He has been getting phones calls all day and sounds very tired.
