Why Shouldn't Ron Run 3rd Party for Potus if he loses his Congressional Primary?

He owes the GOP zilch for screwing him...if he loses his Congressional Primary I say go 3rd Party and help bring McPain down.....

He won't lose his congressional primary
The good Doctor is an astute and clever politician who knows what he is doing. Trust the man.
I don't know why Ron is so loyal to the GOP
they have tried everyway possible to screw him out of politics, and now that he has established a position of influence, they'll try even harder. Just look at his Congressional race. If McInsane sews up the nomination, I don't know what Ron Paul can do as a GOP. Maybe the intention at that point would be to hold on to his congressional seat.

Why shouldn't Ron's supporters chill and see what happens?
Old time, old school Republicans DO like Ron Paul. McCain's campaign faces new problems daily, even Obamessiah is starting to show weak spots, while the economy is on the ropes and housing crisis appears ready to explode.
Ron has said over and over and over... no third party. Why do people who support him not get the importance of just trusting the man on this? Endless discussions of 3rd parties give any "spies" their happy pill for the day - dissension in our ranks.
IF and WHEN Ron calls for a third party run, then we have this discussion. Right now, I still have a primary coming up. I cannot sell Ron Paul by saying, "Well, he is Republican today, but next week he might be something different."
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
If
If RP were to lose the R primary for his TX14 district in Congress, AND the nomination for POTUS is sewed-up by McCain, then I see no reason why he shouldn't try another method.
If it was me, I'd pursue a "scorched earth" policy vs the RNC at that point.
Truthfully, the RNC deserves a scorched-earth policy against them for their already unacceptable behavior. But, it's best to run out of options there first, and then start going down the ladder to the 3rd parties.
This is proving to be a high-turn-out election cycle, which is the worst possible scenario for 3rd party candidates. Any 3rd party win would totally depend on a very low-turn-out election cycle. The average Joe is going to vote R or D, no matter what, because they don't have a clue about anything.
However, IF he ran 3rd party, and IF he could somehow get enough media face-time, and IF he focused on one issue of stopping the war immediately, that might be a winner. Over 2/3 of the people want the war stopped. That's enough to win the Presidency if they all voted for that as the over-riding issue.
Lots of reasons
First and foremost is name familiarity. If Paul goes third party he will get even less attention than he's getting now. The media WANTS him to go third party so they can officially get rid of him.
Second reason is that he wont be able to raise as much money third party. Most who have given are tapped out. By going third party and falling in popularity, less donations will come in.
Thirdly it will create confusion. Ballot access, which party, the timing of it will create uncertainty.
What might possibly make more sense, although it's not a perfect solution, is to run independent for his own congress seat if he loses the republican primary. The same type of situation that applied to Lieberman.
yeah
it would be nice, but does anyone know when they vote for that district? Because I thought they vote during the election!?!?!?!
So then timing would suck for him wouldn't it?

me too
also if he stays on the republican ticket long enough to get his name out there and everyone knows him then he runs third party and it gets all over the news people will flock to him and others will look into him as an alternitave to the dem. and rep. idiots and he could win....... He needs to do it and if his supporters encourage him too with money and support i think he would be delighted in doing so. Remember he hads never said no just does not have any plans of doing it...
