Remember the 5th of November

Ron Paul's fundraising has substantially increased each week this month:

Oct Week 1: $321,054
Oct Week 2: $501,674
Oct Week 3: $676,452

One reason has been the Ron Paul "Money Bombs." Supporters have gotten together to release a "money bomb" in a brief period, spiking his contributions. These are easily tracked on a minute-by-minute basis on RonPaulGraphs.com.

The biggest money bomb being planned is for the 5th of November. On that day, the goal is for 100,000 supporters to donate $100 each. If they make this goal, it would give Ron $10 Million on one day. I think that may be a bit high a goal, but even a fraction of this will produce amazing results, both for the actual fund drive and for another great press release. In the first four days, nearly 6,000 signed up.

If you haven't maxed out, $100 isn't much to make this kind of splash.

Nice write up...

Has Ron Paul Become Our Guy Fawkes?

Nov 5th

Nice article here is a short piece of it.

We are rapidly approaching the day of remembrance for this year and this time a group of people dedicated to peace and freedom want to update his memory with a singular event. By donating an unprecedented amount of money in one day it would mark the beginning of a new way of doing things, a new means of organization. In essence, to drop the proverbial bomb on the U.S. political establishment, testifying to the raw power of the people to self-organize when motivated by something in their best interest and shaking the power structure at its core and by never once lifting a hand in anger.

Campaign Donations Monitoring Tool

Here is a tool that allows Ron Paul supporters to monitor the campaign funding progress minute by minute right on their desktop. It is free and no registration is required. Just hit download and choose your options after installation.

You can get it here: http://gibwo.com/ronpaul/

ENJOY!!!

A reason to donate

I have been using the 5th to get others to donate. Most of my son's friends have seen the show and understand why that date was picked. They want Ron Paul to win, but have been slow to commit their money. I have received commitments from several for donations on the 5th. My two boys will also pitch in on the 5th.
The last time I leaned on them was the end of the quarter push, that netted a couple of hundred dollars for the campaign.
This did not stop me from donating for the radio adds, and I will also donate more on the 5th.
Use all the tools you have.

Exactly

The reason why the idea of November 5th came about was not originally intended to be a focus on Guy Fawkes or V for Vendetta. It was more a reason to get public awareness so we could all unite as one entity and donate on one particular day. If I were to say to anyone of you lets donate on Nov 1st for Ron Paul would you? It would probably cross your mind but lets face the facts there is no meaning behind that day.

The November 5th idea of V for Vendetta is this, for those who have not seen it. There is a repressive military type government like the Nazis that manipulate their people through television. The main character V inspires people by using the day the 5th of November much like were doing for Ron Paul. It's not about the man, a man can be forgotten and die. Ahh but the message it can live on for 1000's of years.

If anyone is interested in seeing a new version of the video I made please see the link below. This covers the November 5th idea with out any conspiracy behind it. Share this version with your friends and family if your against the original version that was created. I want to thank Trevor Lyman for creating the website and taking this thing to the next level. It was only a good idea when this started. He saw the potential immediately added the Digg site to the website and numerous other things.

I believe this will be the largest grass roots effort in the history of America. Be proud on November 5th this is our day to break through to the MSM and show the American people why we support Ron Paul!

That very well could make some headlines.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

These Nov 5 people are dangerous

According to Alexa, they have - horror - more traffic than DailyPaul !

Instead of stopping them, we keep promoting their site. I suggest that DailyPaul will remove all mentions of Nov 5 from the site. There.

Fundraising

Well the secret is out. $100 each and we get the jackpot. . Anyway, all the other candidates can now try to do this, but do they have the thousands and millions of followers? Dr. Paul has won nearly all straw polls and debates by a large margin. I would doubt he does not have millions of supporters, and out of those, not all can donate $100, but only a small part may be enough. I hope I am correct in my hopes and a surprise landslide will emerge.

Romney

Romney would just put his own money in from his supporters himself, because thats the only way this guy can stay in the running, by using his own money. Maybe the Feds are making it for him, you think?

Should we sacrifice today for tomorrow?

I might suggest that some people swallow their Nov 5th pride and just donate the $100 now. We're currently $79K short of today's goal with less than 3 hours left. If 790 Nov 5 donors donated NOW, then we'll be much better off for today and for October in general.

I very much think it exciting and cool to raise so much money in one day, but doing that at the expense of the present may not be the best choice for our freedom campaign.

Waste of Time

$10,000,000 is an amateurish, outlandish goal that makes us and this campaign look stupid. I don't mind a fundraising drive tied to whatever date people think is important, but this goal isn't an attainable goal, it's a crack pipe dream, and failing to reach it will be worse for this campaign than if we never even mentioned it.

And what's worse, we have a fundraising crisis right now! This campaign needs another $200,000 in the next 15 hours of we'll fail to reach and official fundraising deadline. That is what matters!!!! Let's meet the radio ad deadline and then meet our October deadline instead of holding our money for some silly $10,000,000 drive.

I'd disagree

I don't think any drive for campaign money is a waste of time. The 5th of November thing and the fund raising graphics are just ways to motivate and give feedback versus a "Donate Now" button. If you aren't into that, I don't think it would prevent you from donating on your own schedule, but I think last quarter showed those types of things actually have some kind of success for this campaign. I think because it is an internet-driven grassroots campaign, the little challenges give some motivation.

The nature of the grassroots campaign is that we aren't a bunch of people that can just send in the whole $2300 chunk at once (and to multiple candidates like the Hollywood coalition), so I think these goal-oriented vehicles are a way to let a bunch of people that can give $50 or $100 a time to feel like they are contributing.

I don't think that creative fund drives lessens the importance of the message or the campaign. The only problem I see is when the goal outpaces the drive and it can make it look more like we are losing rather than showing that every donation is a win.

I'm not partcularly motivated by these things, but I wouldn't say they are a waste of time.

I'm Motivated

I'm planning to send in over $100 on November 5th, and I know at least two people I work with are planning to do the same, and they haven't signed up on the website.

The Campaign people really turned me off, because the more you listen and talk to them, the more you realize they do not speak for Ron Paul. The campaign has "professional" people in it who want to do this campaign the way they've always been done, and the way Romney, Giuliani, etc. do theirs. These "pro campaigners" are embarrassed by the word Revolution. They are embarrassed we make our own signs. They wish we would only put out "official slogans". They are dismayed we have chosen November 5th as a donation day. Ron Paul is not nearly as uptight, and he wants us to have the freedom to build this drive as we see fit, because he knows great ideas are born out of liberty.

If you don't want to donate on November 5th, that's your right. But thousands of us are planning to, and we are excited about it.

This is not a waste of time. They need to let us be us.

We are the grassroots movement for Ron Paul. We are not the campaign. The campaign should provide us the freedom to organize ourselves in conjunction with their activities, not, try to ram their new fundraising timelines down our necks. We gave him $5.3 Million to spend in the fourth quarter and they should focus their efforts on efficiently spending that money on ads in NH, IA, SC, etc... And, I have faith that the good Dr. will use our money wisely. I will not second guess is spending plans.

At the sametime, they have to show some faith in us. We will figure out a way to get to the $12 Million mark or beyond by the end of the 4th quarter come hell or high water. The November 5th Rememberance is a unique idea that is going to generate at minimum well over $1,000,000 for the campaign in one day. Don't you think that will get noticed by the media?

I'm actually kind of peeved that they took down Lady Liberty and replaced her with the Radio Tower. We need real time feedback on the overall goal so that we can assess whether the things we are doing are successful. If they want, they can hold back the results of their own fundraising thru direct mail and other events and add it on at the end of the quarter.

Dr. Paul promises to open government to the light of day. I think it is a missed opportunity on the campaigns part not to show the online daily fundraising. The simple act of showing this information seems to confound the media and forces them to deal with Dr. Paul's support on a daily basis.

On the November 5th Remembrance, we are a broad coalition with different life experiences and cultural reference points that appeal to us. It seems, that this idea appeals to the younger more revolutionary portion of the coalition. Let them have their day, let them have their fun, let them express themselves and then join them in raising a butt load of Money for Dr. Paul on November 5th.

And, then, let's see where we are and then come up with (10) more creative ways to raise money by the end of the 4th Quarter.

Money bomb thing

I agree. I am a bit annoyed by this Nov 5th thing, over and over and over. Money bomb? It's like telling people NOT to give when the campaign needs it the most.

I wish they'd give it a rest!

You're not getting it,

This is about PUBLICITY, not holding back your money but strategic timing to get ATTENTION. There are certain things the media won't ignore and if manages to hit 1/10th of that goal raising, $1,000,000 in one day (which is not far fetched considering there are thousands signed up already) the media coverage would be priceless!

The only thing we have on our side is strength in number and showing them we are united and can synchronize our efforts is what will really get the point across!

If you're making signs...
