"According to news reports, food riots have broken out in Morocco, Yemen, Mexico, Guinea, Mauritania, Senegal and Uzbekistan. Pakistan has reintroduced rationing for the first time in two decades. Russia has frozen the price of milk, bread, eggs and cooking oil for six months. Thailand is also planning a freeze on food staples. After protests around Indonesia, Jakarta has increased public food subsidies. India has banned the export of rice except the high-quality basmati variety."

This is another reason why well-meaning attempts to further improve hygiene, eradicate disease, and reduce infant mortality in third world countries are doomed to failure. What good does it do to stamp out malaria if you are going to let those same children die of starvation? This may seem strange coming from a physician, but Bill Gates' attempt to earn immortality by throwing billions of dollars at eradicating malaria is worse than a waste of time and money. I wish he would follow the example of some of his high tech peers and promote space technology. Developing a new frontier in space (along with the unlimited, cheap, and clean energy that would result from solar power satellites) is the real answer.

It could end the threat of global warming by ending the need for fossil fuel and supply the inexhaustible, nonpolluting energy needed for carbon dioxide sequestration. It could end America's (and the developed world's) dependence on oil from the Mideast with all of its attendant political problems. It could provide the clean energy the developing nations need to industrialize without destroying the environment. The same energy from solar power would at last make abundant fresh water available for drinking and irrigation through desalinating sea water.

In fact, part of the global fascists' plan is to keep the masses ignorant of the possibilities of space development. (If you think global domination is difficult, try subjugating an entire solar system!)

The solution is economics

The root of the problem is economics, not energy or space technology. Those are worthy goals, but they don't strike at the root of the problem - fiat money. Only stablizing currency with hard money will do that.

The common person will never be able to freely compete in any area as long as there is government protection of business that allows monopolies and thus divides the upper and middle class. We will never be able to build wealth and invest our savings to develop those technologies as long as we have a central bank that erodes our savings through printing money which causes devaluation.

Once those issues are addressed, then the common person compete in a free market which will cause an increase in food and space technologies like never before.

that was the ruse wasnt it.....to sell us on biofuels, paying farmers subsidies to fill their fields with corn and little else.......you think that was coincidence,,,,,most of us here at this site have connected most of the dots but for those of you who are still trying to make sense of world events right now,,do some research. they will control us with the four "F"s ....food, fuel, firearms and freedom. theres an ernest attempt to bring all nations under a one world rule, yes just like the media was laughing about this morning on msnbc....if you dont have food or fuel you may find yourself in a desperate situation very quickly and those fema camps wont look so bad,,,,if theyve taken your firearms, youve a harder time resisting and thus in either event have lost your freedom.im so past caring if people laugh at me anymore. i feel like i spend so much of my day and energy now running around trying to shake people awake out of their comas....laugh at me all you want, call me anything you want but for the love of god, store some food and water now , supplies are getting low now, very low, sadly you must keep your own supply safely hidden for you and yours,,,,also any firearms,,buy seeds now and put in garden as soon as weather allows and keep it also out of sight if possible....just do it...laugh at me later, please im trying to keep people alive,and youve got to do the same......
