Time goes on but some things never seem to change
not sure how many will have ever heard of Larry Norman - considered by many the 'father of Christian rock.' One of his songs asked "Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music?" Larry died on Sunday. (among other places, you can find the story on www.worldnetdaily.com)
The reason I'm passing this along is because of the social consciousness of Larry in his music. Much like the special I saw on our local PBS station on Pete Seger last night (and boy - was much of it relevant to today as well!), Larry wrote many of his songs in that same lyrical style.
The song, "The Great American Novel" shows that things don't really change very much... hear for yourself with this 1988 video of a song that was originally released in 1972... yes, 1972. And make sure to listen to Larry's comments after he finishes the song.
