The Mormon Prophecy
I'm not Mormon though my ancestors were. So I'm not promoting a religion here. They have this prophecy that sounds a lot like our times. I did a little searching and found a bit more on their prophecy. It is all quite interesting. Could our movement use another 5 million members?
“Even this nation will be on the verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground and when the Constitution is on the brink of ruin this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction." (Joseph Smith papers LDS Church Historical Archives Box 1, March 10, 1844)

Becoming The Staff Upon Which Nations Shall Lean
Glenn J. Kimber
In 1844, Joseph Smith prophesied the saving of America: “Even this nation will be on the verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground. And when the Constitution is on the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from utter destruction.” President Benson talked about the youth that will be the basis for fulfilling this prophecy. Learn about these prophesies and how each of your young people can become literally “saviors on Mount Zion,” not only saving this country but literally saving the sacredness of our families.
Someone made and is circulating an LDS flyer supporting Ron Paul. Download it from here:

Mormons for Ron Paul
......I really take issue with some of the inflamatory remarks on this thread.
Please google Mormons for Ron Paul and see what you get. Read the letter on Lew Rockwell to Mormons. Listen to Ron Paul and find one instance where he has belittled members of any religion. This person simply gave us some info on where our Mormon brothers and sisters for Ron Paul are coming from. The flyer is interesting....many groups for Ron Paul have their own sites and handouts and are doing great work, in their own way, from their own cultures and backgrounds. This has nothing to do with a particular religion...it has to do with people for the Constitution and for Ron Paul. Note what one meet-up group states as their mission.
And note that this is just one Mormon instigated RP group...from Texas not Utah and with 45 members:
"It is time to draw a line in the sand. We, of the LDS faith, need to gather in, organize, and unite for our principles, our children, and our country. "All is" not "well" and with knowledge comes responsibility.
The purpose of this Ron Paul Meetup Group is to facilitate grassroots campaign organizing in support of Ron Paul for President 2008 by forming a coalition of LDS Ron Paul supporters in order to create, fund, and implement projects targeted at educating, converting, and supporting LDS Ron Paul supporters in your local area and around the world.
We welcome and encourage people of all faiths, religions, cultures, countries, and political parties in joining and supporting our mission and goals as a meetup group.

My sister married a Mormon...
And converted to Mormanism. She believes the "end times" are approaching, just like many Christians do. And it all stems from what's going on with our government and our country.
Her and her husband both supported Romney til he dropped out naturally, but I think they both agree that the republican party is nothing like it used to be... and nothing like it's supposed to be.
I'm working on them. They like Ron Paul's ideas. I think many Mormans could come to support Ron Paul if they only had a chance to hear the message.
Ya'll...
... go outside and play.. it's nice outside.
=)
Joseph Smith was nothing
Joseph Smith was nothing more than a convicted con man who cooked up a scam that succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. I fail to see how anyone can look closely at the history of Mormonism without erupting into uncontrolled fits of laughter.

Phoo-There Are Many Ron Paul Branches
on the Liberty Tree. Ron Paul is my hero because he articulates that so well and never laughs at anyone. (Remember the example many of us have given to our children about what happens when you point your finger at someone and laugh? Usually three fingers are pointed back at you.)
Many Mormons are Ron Paul supporters. The very fact that they consider the Constitution sacred puts them on that tree. I don't see what Joseph has to do with that. I found his prophecy interesting. We have some major agreements with the belief system of Mormons, ie the Constitution.
I had a great Ron Paul conversation with someone last night who it turned out was a *major* fundamentalist, but who was open to RP because they considered the National ID the *mark of the beast.* I had no problem agreeing on the larger point. They were also very against the NAU, the Patriot Act, Bush/Clinton/OBama/McCain. They became interested in RP through our conversation.
Let's welcome all branches on that tree and laugh at none. I thank the poster...found it interesting. I too have Mormon friends. They are for Ron Paul. I like them....a lot! Like you, too!

I'm not laughing at any
I'm not laughing at any particular person (except the vile charlatan Mr. Smith); I'm laughing at a set of "prophesies" that are only fit to be laughed at.
And I am not saying "Mormons take a hike." Of course they are welcome in the Paul camp. But I'm not going to pass silently by when I hear someone talking about the "prophesies" of a con man that supposedly predicted our current political environment. Rather, I will stop and subject it to the open mockery that it deserves.

They are waking up
Watch the videos. We wake up Mormons just like we wake up everyone else - one person at a time. I see more and more people waking up every day.
Defeatism is not welcome. Discouraging talk is not welcome. There are 13 million Mormons to wake up. That number would overwhelm the crooks, liars and thieves in DC and elsewhere. I cannot wake them all up by myself. I cannot wake them all up at once. But I can wake them up one at a time - the same way one eats an elephant.
Your comments about some Mormons from some other Time and Space are more or less correct. So what? The past is dead. Now is Now. There is a Constitution and country to save. We can bellyache or we can get busy.
"It all boils down to choice."
Your imagination
Mormons voted 90% for Mitt Romney. Is that called waking up??
I live in Utah and the only way the mormon's would vote for Ron Paul is if the church endorsed him by saying something like vote for a man that supports the constitution.
Mormons know that mormon's are always right, so in the Utah primary they voted for the only candidate that was always going to be right Mitt Romney, Then Mitt Romney quit on them two days later and he has endorsed John McCain, and that is why John McCain must be the right person to vote for.
John McCain is their choice this year. Mormon Governor Huntsman (son of Billionaire Jon Huntsman), Mormon Senator Hatch, Mormon Senator Bennett, and almost ... all of the elected officials in Utah are Mormon and support John McCain.
Mormons are more like sheep (SHEEP) than the average American.
Sorry mormon's I know in Utah, it is just the way it is. A state of sheep. Praise be it that there are a few thinking mormon's, and may God bless you. If Utah does not sweep behind McCain at the convention in sept. then I will owe you all an apology. I challenge you to wake up the sheep. No I dare you awake them up. It won't happen.

I challenge you
I challenge you to get 10 only 10 of your mormon neighbors or 10 of your mormon relatives to watch more than 1 of those videos on the internet.
I double dare you.
They are mormon's and they do not need you to get them to learn anything. You won't get 10 to watch. They know everything already and they will not watch them.
If you know mormon's that do not live in Utah ask them to watch, because they might still want to learn something. At least you have a chance with them. Why? Because they are not all sheep. But you still will not find 10 mormon's to watch those videos.

what most people don't understand...
What most people don't understand is that the LDS church very seldom involves itself in telling its members where to stand politically. (If you live in Utah, you may here an official position every 5-10 years on a specific moral issue that is being debated, such as gambling or a marriage initiative.) For the most part, there is just a general reminder to study all the candidates and be involved politically supporting those who best represent your idea of good government.
I have spoken with family members and other members of the LDS church who really thought that Mitt Romney would be the one to lead this country out of the hole we are in. They somehow projected their own ideas of Constitutional government onto him because they relate to him in religious matters too. Unfortunately, these same people are still waiting for someone to step up as their leader and rally them to "save the Constitution" or that when the time is here, the official church leadership will tell them. That isn't likely to happen because 1) the church is world-wide, not American and 2) the leaders are more concerned with helping people understand basics like repentance and how to live a moral life. Any member who is reading their scriptures and studying the teachings of past prophets will know the Constitution is worth spending time learning and supporting, and needs to rely on the Holy Spirit to show them how to best do that in their own lives.
These same scriptures say "it is not meet that I (the Lord) should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward. Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness".
The problem with having a well-known prophecy in place for over 150 years is that no one knows whether it applies NOW. I think it obviously does, that is why I have spent so much time and money spreading the Ron Paul message, but those who aren't watching as we are think that life goes on as it always has and that today is not much different than yesterday or the week before. If you want to get through to members of the LDS church, it will be one person at a time (just like we became aware) and by getting them to start thinking about details like "Are you aware of this prophecy?" "Do you think it is occurring today?" "Have you read the Constitution so you could recognize whether this is happening or not?" Remember, most members of the LDS church went to the same public schools everyone else did, and the Constitution isn't taught in church.
I had the pleasure of meeting
Dr. Kimber last summer, at his home. Extraordinary man who also operates faith based schools. When it comes to education, LDS are at the top of the advocacy list.
Ezra Taft Bension, previous prophet, in his talk at the semiannual Conference of the LDS in October, 1961, should give everyone pause. He spoke and referenced earlier prophesy of everything that is taking place today.
And, you are right, if we do not get more people to wake up, and get on board, we will all suffer the consequences. There are more good people than bad, we just want to bring them forth!
Food storage has always been part of their preparations for what has been Prophesized. However, the only thing unknown is WHEN.
They volunteer in their canneries and send tons of food all over the world, as well as supply those who assist there, and in the orchards, and in the fields, etc. etc. None of the LDS people sit back and take -they have pride and sense of purpose! And their food storage is not just for themselves, it is to assist others as well.
We should all build this type of network for what is coming - start in our own neighborhoods, educate, and organize.

whoops, double post!
The 'Prophesy' of Franklin
"A Republic if you can keep it..."

I heard somewhere
That the Mormons have huge storage wherehouses around the country of supplies and food. I don't know if it is for a future event, or helping the poor or what the exact purpose of them are----but if is for their members in case of what we face, they are doing something right, unless of course the government decides to take them over.
The supplies are being constantly used
These supplies are used for emergency situations and to help the poor. Members of the church are encouraged to have their own supplies, independent of the general church resources.
Here are some links to see what these are used for:

I'll bet
I would bet, but I don't know, that the government and elite have underground worlds here in the US for when they need them. Stocked and ready, I might add. Guess who won't be invited. You and me.
You win your bet!
The money from the govt selling drugs is utilized for underground establishments, including a rail system from coast to coast in 1.5 hrs.
They buy the drugs, sell them, put users in jail so their friends can build and operate them.
They have ALL the bases covered - as we know, been in the works for dozens of years!
Now they are working on down-sizing the population - some said by 90% - so the earth can survive!
COG
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuity_of_government
Continuity of government (COG) is the principle of establishing defined procedures that allow a government to continue its essential operations in case of a nuclear war or other catastrophic event. First developed by the British government during World War II to counter the threat of Luftwaffe bombing to the functions of government during the Battle of Britain, the need for continuity-of-government plans gained new urgency with nuclear proliferation, as countries during the Cold War and afterwards developed such plans in the event of nuclear war to avoid confusion and disorder in a power vacuum in the aftermath of a nuclear attack.

Anyone with LDS ties, please put in a good word for Ron
I live in a state with a large LDS population. Note the use of the politically correct term? :)
With Romney out, I find a lot of them receptive to Ron Paul, but there is nothing like hearing it from someone within the church. Call your friends and relatives, ask for their support, ask them to get in the delegate pipeline!
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Is it Time Yet?
I encountered some materials by Cleo Skousen who we know to be Mormon. Skousen epitomizes the Spiritually developed man. He is amazing and an inspiration. Which brings me to a new idea.
It is my suspicion Cleo Skousen might be one of the Mormons spoken of in the prophecy.
http://www.ldslastdays.com/default.a...=pscthread.htm
He has done more in a high spiritual and down to earth practical way to restore our Constitution than anyone else known (to me anyway). Do you have any additional information or insight that might bear on this idea? Would you agree this is a possibility?
See National Center for Constitutional Studies
http://www.nccs.net/
Cleon Skousen is the one who inspired me
Cleon Skousen is the person who inspired me to study and love the Constitution over 20 years ago. He would go around to teach youth groups. I think that contact is what put me on track to use the Constitution as my guide in what the government should and should not be doing. That influence has now extended to my husband and children.
Well, what with the mayor's
Well, what with the mayor's statement in Salt Lake City, do not the Mormon's realize that NOW is the time they must save the Constitution???
WE NEED THEM TO UNITE and rise against the tyranny! Someone needs to talk to this man. He can NOT be unaware. The time of their prophesy has arrived. It is so obvious! Show them NOW. We need them at the Ron Paul marches. We need them to donate. We need them to come together and save the Constitution! Are they BLIND or what??????????
which mayor? Which statement?
Is the mayor of SLC even a member of the LDS church? If you are talking about Rocky Anderson, he is not Mormon, and spent a lot of time and money fighting the LDS church about zoning issues. He would not be the one to rally anyone. Also, the way to influence people to go your way is by example, not directive. I don't know anyone who is voting McCain because Mitt Romney said to.
