Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, by John Perkins.

This book was very shocking for me to read. I bought it after seeing the dvd from dollar project, which was John Perkins at a booksigning telling about his experiences as a hitman. This had been on C-Span.

A must read for anyone who wants to understand our foreign policy, the war in Iraq.. the genocides that have/are occurring worldwide including here in the US. (the Navajo atrocities)

bump it

saw this a long time ago
really helped putting the pieces together

Almost like reviving an old thread,

but after having watched Secrets of the CIA this afternoon, I thought those who know John Perkin's book might find this a rather interesting documentary even though it is not pretty at all.

http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid=-8562860981340825...

This documentary explains how CIA pioneered, developed, manipulated prisoner abuse, sold drugs, changed regimes and killed millions of people worldwide.

this documentary is only

this documentary is only giving half truths....sure it says the CIA was resposible for the drugs and overthrowing some governments...but oops...it was an accident..they didn't see it coming....
and the CIA was completely caught off guard by the 1979 uprising in Iran...give me a break...how about they trained and planned it....just like everything else....

"and the truth shall make you free"
John 8:32

They sure are no innocent spectators, the CIA lot.

Still, a good documentary I thought. It is more than we normally would have known when putting together the info from the book and possible some other sources.

Tonight, the documentary The Spy Factory was aired here on SBS. Not sure when it was aired in USA (PBS) but it certainly tries to give an image of the NSA is only for your own good. It gives some insight in the NSA and its workings, it is still working on the premise that the viewers don't know any more than what they will see in this documentary. Have to watch it again to pick up on a few more cover ups within the documentary, or giving it a spin (hoping that the public will buy the whitewash)

thanks, now watching
