The Ron Paul Movement is in danger of fading away and no one gives a crap!

Several times I've posted a request for discussions on Freedom Force International or other similar organizations. 2 of the Ron Paul Meetups in Wisconsinsin are looking at transitioning into a Freedom Force Chapter. I've asked for feedback about this and/or information about what others are doing to keep this movement alive. A few people comment but not enough to keep the threads alive. Do I not know how to use this forum or isn't anybody really interested in discussing the long term future of this movement?

I've noticed that too.
I've also noticed that our presence is less in Digg as well as YouTube. I don't do MySpace or Face book...but what's the deal? I hope it's not cuz people are feeling defeated. We are a Long way from being defeated which is why the corporate medias are working even harder to bury and censor and ignore the good doctor. They and alot of the talk show hosts rarely even acknowledge his candidacy anymore but he's still holding the fundraising record. In addition we have already seen many strong cases of voter fraud in the caucuses and primaries of this year. In my canvassing activities, I am seeing more and more support all the time so I keep telling myself that my brothers and sisters in this movement have not gone away but are busy putting more boots on the ground......
**the soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears**
It will not fade away
It will not fade away because people like me are staying on to bring our Country back to its Constitutional roots.... Some of you are talking about moving to other parties... I personally don't feel that's the right way... they haven't been successful at really bringing issues to the forefront in this country, and that's what Ron Paul realized in 1988. I for one am staying in the Republican party.... We just started a local chapter of the Young Republicans. I am vice president. The president is also a Ron Paul supporter, and so are most of the new members. We will be shaping young minds....
It's not time to give up. We must set our goals. There are many Ron Paul people running for Congress and Senate. We must support them. This Movement has bred them.
But enough of this "what are we going to do now" defeatist talk!
It's not over till it's over. Our eyes are still on the White House, and we will not give up on that for this year until after September.
Until then... Continue the good fight, my fellow Patriots!! Ron Paul CAN STILL WIN THIS!!! :O)
NONE BUT PAUL!
Hi Mike,
I've read all the posts below, and I would agree with those who say this Movement is serious and won't go away. Yet at the same time, those who point out some of the deficiencies of the Movement and our human weaknesses also have a point.
Ron Paul offers a vision we know is right; that is how he galvanized our interest in the first place. And the Grassroots have answered with true enthusiasm, ideas and initiatives, constant communicating and amazing donating. More recently, HQ has directed us to become involved in the Precinct Leaders Program, and to find ways to dominate the delegate selection process in each state, and now to explore the merits of a march/rally. All that is important and useful in it place... but what is the proper place for all of these things? What other things are being overlooked? And where does it all fit together?
That leads to the big question: Where is an overall, unifying, compelling Strategic Plan that answers all the critical questions about how we should be deploying our resouces between now and November in line with our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats?
Only such a comprehensive Strategic Plan that can be readily seen as workable by everyone, and so gain "buy-in" from all, can stir us to energetic action—not only to recover momentum, but to go far beyond our past performance to realize the vast untapped power that truly does lie dormant within this Movement.
In essence we have an Organization/Planning problem. Something is missing, and now many are sensing it; there are some undefined gaps between the place we're at now, and the vision we want to realize for a better future.
I will be posting ASAP a detailed (not too long) explanation of what I just briefly touched on here. It will be called "Time for Clarity." and I hope you can take time to read it. Frankly, I'm finding it tough to finish. I'm wracking my brain to grasp some of the the fundamental problems, and also find ways to clearly present some rather sophisticated organizational matters that will be unfamiliar to some. We Ron Paul people are a smart and savvy crowd; still, this is advanced stuff and we do need to get into it...
We can do much better. We need to do much better. But it has to be done the right way.

The Libertarian Party IS the clearing house!
Ron Paul has often pointed out that his views are libertarian. He, himself, was the 1988 Libertarian Party (LP) presidential nominee. The LP is running thousands of candidates this November. You can help keep the movement alive by voting Libertarian and electing like-minded people at the local and state level. The LP has WON somewhere around 1000 offices. Your vote is NOT wasted.
Contrary to another opinion expressed on this thread, the LP has done quite a bit in the last few decades. In addition to electing state and local elected officials, the LP has been the "clearing house" for the movement. People join, learn, and either work within the Party or extend themselves outside it, like Ron Paul has. Nevertheless, the tie is always there. When Dr. Paul was asked why he left the LP, he replied "I never left." Most people stay connected even when they feel their efforts are best placed in other arenas or parties.
Indeed, RP's initial supporters were LP members. I, for one, have donated to his Congressional campaigns ever since he was the LP nominee. If you want to stay connected and keep the movement alive, check out the LP and its members. Most of them can plug you in to other groups that are out there and help you find YOUR niche!
Libertarian or Constitutional Party
It would be nice if we all joined forces to vote for either of those parties...
I have NO idea about anything other than...
the RON PAUL movement. We are in an election process and NEED to stay focused on GETTING MORE SUPPORTERS!!!
I have posted many a thread that have been dismissed to the abyss. That's just the way it is. I do not believe they ignore your or my threads because they think they are bad. Maybe they just do not know or are not interested. That happens. People have a right to post and respond as they desire. However, it does seem to get a bit off topic. Meaning, they discuss NON Ron PAUL stuff a bit much. But that is just the way it is.
I've been promoting www.RingsideRevolution.com and have had some success thus far. Although the clock is ticking and the frustration mounts daily.
Hang in there. Do not get down or offended by others. Many a troll have infested RP sites and many have taken a back seat. That is obvious. But this is not over until we say it is. Keep up the fight!

Define "no one."
Last I checked, there's a race for the Presidency going on.
Wrong
The movement is not fading away. While there seems to be a lull in the primary process, I assure you thousands of organizers are working on the delegate process. You will find many great reports of RP supporters getting selected as delegates in postings here on dailypaul.com
Another thing we are seeing is a movement among Republicans, not just Ron Paul supporters, to unbind the delegates in "bound" states. This is very real and will probably happen in a number of states.
Therefore, it is of vital importance we get as many Ron Paul supporters selected as delegates as possible.
All across the country Ron Paul supporters are helping to rewrite the Republican Platform. An easy example is Alaska, but there are many others.
I can also assure you that a great number of Ron Paul supporters are also running for, or have already been selected as, Republican Committee people. This is truly the way to turn the grass roots movement into the new establishment position. Local Republican Committees have more power than many understand.
One last thing, there is currently a very pervasive apathy in the Republican Party. That is to our favor.
We're kind a busy right now trying to win an election.
I appreciate that you want to make sure that the movement continues after this election, but, for many of us the battle for the nomination / delegates is still going on and we are kind of busy right now.
I GIVE A CRAP!!!
I can mail it to you if you want.

The Second Amendment
The ORIGINAL Homeland Security
The Movement is Not New, and...
The freedom movement is not new, did not originate with Ron Paul, and has never cooperated within itself except on specific projects. It is unrealistic to expect all that to suddenly change in a couple of months.
Freedom Force is not new, either, in that other such coordinating efforts have been out there for years. Bob Shultz' struggling We The People organization is over 8 years old. My own LawfulGov.Org is six years old. Neither, as with many others, is fully self-sustaining, despite the vast numbers of people who bump together temporarily to support local phenomena and events like the Ron Paul insurgency.
In fact, I invited interest for LawfulGov.Org twice on this forum, and did not receive a single email back. Some hits at the site, but that's it.
Why? It's not because of apathy. It's because everybody is an expert. Just ask them. The movement is rife with competing opinions and egos (but sorely short on facts and skill); everybody wants to be in charge but nobody wants to do the drudgery. And it's been like that longer than most of you have been out of diapers.
Independent people don't tend to cooperate, for whatever excuse, and that's why they always lose in a war of attrition against their liberties.
The neocons have a plan, and you don't. The liberals are working a plan written over 160 years ago by the original Marxists. You're not. So they win and own the contest, and you are uncounted passersby and discounted spectators yelling in now and then from the sidelines.
The first step to changing that harsh reality is to accept that it is a fact. Only then will you begin to address it. Only then can you get to the stuff that is really hard, like overcoming and replacing the actual source of all this insanity, the government schools.
The opening line of the Libertarian Party's Statement of Principles reads, "We, the members of the Libertarian Party, challenge the cult of the omnipotent state and defend the rights of the individual."
How much more clearly could it be stated? Yet the LP itself went off onto a tangent, challenging the state itself instead of the cult-think that creates it, and in turn became the cult of the anti-state. And until next year, has accomplished virtually nothing in more than 37 years of infighting and contests of ego and opinion. And the current solution of many of the newer members? Those who aren't old enough to know what liberty looked like only as far back as the year the LP was founded? Certainly they have not determined to finally do what the statement says!? No. They are trying to drop the statement!
That's right, that's what people have been trained to do these days. If at first your feebly inadequate misdirected effort fails, abandon the entire proposition!
Don't anyone here try to convince me we're any different here on this or any other RP forum. Can't even agree on a date for a money bomb or even whether to have another one.
Worry about the ego problem, and the unquestioned faith of each potential superstar in his own opinion, and you might have a prayer of creating an actual organization. Of course, then you'll still have to deal with the territoriality and competitive natures of groups' leaders, but hey, just allow for competition in the marketplace of ideas and let the best effort prevail without regard to friendship and shallow loyalties to people instead of ideas.
Okay, I've exceeded reality with those rules, so.....
Contact me if this appraisal offends you and you're serious about doing something about it.

Victory for the Ron Paul Revolution in Louisville, KY
We had our precinct and legislative district caucus in Louisville, KY yesterday which is the largest city in the state. We won 12 out of 18 legislative district and we have supporters on all the five standing committees. We joined with a group of social conservatives and we have either a super majority, majority, or 40% minority group in every district of the county. Viva the Ron Paul revolution!
WOW!!!!! WTG and work
WOW!!!!! WTG and work together!! You guys rock!
The Problem Is,
a large amount of DPer's are so eager to get their information on the blog, they don't read what is already posted, and comment, until after they posted, thus pushing topics out of active forum. I have posted good blogs and within 10 minutes, they are gone off the active forum topics.
hmmmmmm.......
I've never even heard of Freedom Force (it does sound kinda corny) but anyway, here in Spokane, where I am currently one of the Organizers, we did our job and got paul 46% of the caucus vote.
We're looking into various roads to take, the main one looks to be establishing some kind of Political/Educational organization for Eastern Washington.
So dont give me this crap about no one caring, we do, but we might not care about your posts, besides I would say a small percentage of people actually use these forums for more than casual browsing.
So even if you get posts (such as this one) they don't mean anything, unless your talking face to face with the person.
Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.
We're not going anywhere...
We're just regrouping. I begin my new job in Washington D.C. tomorrow to fight with the Libertarians! We will forever defend the principles of the constitution and the Second American "Ron Paul" Revolution.
No retreat, No surrender!

I saw your post on this the other day and sent it
out to my meetups and said I thought it would be a good way to continue the movement with an organization that is already up and running. We are definitely continuing on after this election. No doubt about that!
I agree that their should be
I agree that their should be open discussion and I am cool with that. But seriously, I would have to agree there are a few people posting some pretty kooky things on DP these days. Whether you believe it or not, look around this site. Their are many post and subjects that go right along the line of conspiracy theories.
Now, I'm not saying that conspiracies don't exist, but I do believe that the majority of your so called "conspiracies" happen by conincidence, carelessness, and accident as opposed to some diabolical skeem.
I joined the revolution because I believe that America has lost it's way. We have carelessly and accidently drifted down the wrong road. I believe MOST American's are good people and that we all want "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of hapiness." But few of us can even say what that is anymore.
Like my grandfather used to say "The reason I'm a Catholic is because my parents were catholics, and the reason I'm an American is because my parents were Americans".
My point: When we look at our lives and all that we know is the America that we have been used to and headed toward our whole lives(The America we live in today.) Its hard to know anything else, and especially hard to see the America that once was and can once again be. This is the boat that I think many American's are in.
We are indeed in a new revolution and it requires us to be vigilant and in for the long haul. But first we have to believe in ourselves, the American people, and the abilities of our form of a republican form of government.
People are begining to get fed up and they WILL start listening.
Talking in terms of diabolical conspiracies of the past or present ain't gonna do it! But, talking in terms of what we might achieve in the future with liberty, and prosperity WILL! For example,Ron Paul did it and look where it got him in less than a year! We are at a crossroads and we CAN make a change, but we must continue to set our sights on a goal even if Dr. Paul doesn't make the White House!
excellent
that's exactly what I have been trying to get through to people
www.OurFreedomNetwork.com

It's in the works now, but will take a little more time to get it finished.
The real need has been recognized, and responsed to, for something to not only continue this revolution, but expand on it beyond even what has already been done.
The system is being designed to not only allow for local chapter involvement, but county, state and regional chapters as well. The system will:
Allow you to sign up in your local chapter, which then gives you access to other local members as well as an events calendar, project management systems, forms and documentation, and candidate support systems.
All local chapters are part of their county chapter. The county chapters are all part of the State chapters, and the State chapters are part of regional chapters.
If someone wants to run for office, say at the local level, the system will automatically create a campaign web site for them. Then, all members of the local chapter where they are running will be notified of the campaign. You can join the campaign support system in any way you choose. Whether it is just to lend support in the campaign forum, or you can go all out and actually work for the campaign based on projects and events that the campaign manager sets up within the OFN system.
If the need arises, the level of participation/contact of members can be expanded past the local level into other areas - such as actual distance (i.e. within 100 miles of campaign headquarters) or surrounding communities.
Of course, if the candidate is running for an office at the county or state level, the same methods would apply - but with a lot more initial member notifications than at local levels. After all, if someone is running for mayor of Temecula California, there is no immediate or justifiable need to automatically notify members in Bangor Maine of that campaign.
The site also has 'normal' things like member's personal profiles, friends lists, and discussion forums. There are forums for the OFN as a whole, individual chapter forums, campaign forums and specialty-specific forums.
The site will have publishing systems to assist members in distribution and/or the sale of e-books, campaign materials, audio and video productions and newsletters.
Distribution systems for audio/video/multimedia presentations are being built that will help a producer integrate their material into a variety of networks and media outlets.
The site will allow members to create their own blogs, which are then set up on RSS feeds for both internal and external subscription systems to use.
You can create networks of members for specific things.. for instance if you've got a peice of legislation you're opposing, you can create a group network of like-minded individuals to help in the tasks involved in opposing it. Those networks will have their own forums and messaging systems.
The internal messaging system is used for members to contact members without ever having to send an email. Messages are kept internal to the site, and only a notification that a new message has been sent (and only when the member requests such a notification) get sent through standard email channels.
Project management systems are in place to allow individual groups, chapters, campaigns or any combination of the three, the ability to specify tasks that need to be done - and the system then allows users to sign on to assist with those tasks, or suggest alternative methods to complete the project goals.
A forms and documents search engine has been built to make the discovery and printing of government forms a lot easier. If you're running for office (for example) and you are not sure of what forms and docs you need to fill out, this system will help you find exactly what you need.
The forms and documents engine is based on a coded-intelligence engine that is used by the healthcare industry. It not only organizes the documents and forms that are needed for anything 'political' in nature, it can actually 'learn' as it collects the data.
Every time it is used, it gets smarter. The longer it stays up, the easier it is for the next person to use it.
Another aspect of the 'learning computer' system is that it can keep track of campaign/project ideas that have already been completed. If a member or group of members decides to embark on a project that has already been performed by another group, the system will identify that similarity.
The system can then be used to help the new project administrators by reporting the outcome of the prior project. If it failed, and the administrators recorded that it failed - the new project administrator might find a way to avoid making the same mistakes, or wasting time.
On the other hand, if the project was a success, the new project manager can learn from the experiences of the prior project members - either through reading their project notes, or contacting them for advice with the new project.
That is what a real 'network' is supposed to do. If an idea is not a new one, and there is any data at all to suggest or assist in the implementation of a plan, if the network cannot supply that information then it's of no use. Without these systems in place, it is not a network - it is simply a bunch of people hoping for the best, without the tools to drive them toward success.
There are other aspects of the system that are being compiled as well.. from polling and voting systems to multi-user videoconferencing systems, sattelite-fed live reporting and news systems, OFN Broadcast networks (internet television and radio), delegate mapping and tracking services, to a categorized, searchable, member driven and ranked search engine for on-topic web sites outside of OFN.
There's a lot more that's being put together on the site, and it's turned into an 18 hour a day, 7 day a week job, but it's going to be done.
So, dont be discouraged - the answers are coming!
// edited to add
This system wont only be something to sit at home with. It will work anywhere you can get on the internet. Whether it is your home or office desktop, a tablet, PDA or even an internet ready cell phone - this system will only be as far away as your closest internet connection.

I think your title is way
I think your title is way off-base. Sorry, but the hard truth of these kinds of websites is that not every post will drum up the interest you hope it will. It's happened to me and I'll wager it's happened to 99% of everyone else here. To claim that "no one gives a crap" is frankly, a little insulting to those of us who do ....
