The Good News: Ron Paul Wins Texas 14
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 21:42
The good news is that Ron Paul is successfully defending his congressional seat in the Texas 14th District, 68% to 32%. The Daily Paul projects Ron Paul as the winner.
See the results here:

In other news, McCain sweeps today's GOP primaries, Huckabee concedes.
Now there are two, but don't count on the MSM letting you know that.

I wonder what they're afraid
I wonder what they're afraid of to vote for him as President?
Let's see - 37,220 voted for him for Congressman
only 6,697 voted for him for President.
He got 12%, probably the highest in any open primary in the country.
What were the other 30,523 scared of, since everyone knew that McCain won anyway?
That Bush would drop a nucular on them if they gave 3 delegates to Ron Paul?

Have you thanked Milton Friedman lately?
That is GREAT NEWS!
Now with that monkey off our backs we can again, re-focus our efforts on making sense out of the spew we are told AND get this wonderful, patriotic man into the office he sought in the first place! Hooray!! :)
Speaking of spew...how is it that these same district 14 voters do not appear to have cast their presidential vote for RP?? Am I daft or simply in error?
From where I am sitting it certainly looks as though the electronic voting machines were programatically set to certain percentages for certain cantidates and that the *geniuses* in charge of this fraudulent effort *forgot* to alter the congressional district numbers to a similar percentage. I have three family members in district 14, all them voted for RP twice yesterday. It is hard for me to imagine the rest of the district didn't do the same. Smells funky...
Congrats!!!
Bravo Dr. Ron Paul!
where's Peden's concession speech?

"Phone messages left on Peden’s cell phone, at his campaign office and with his campaign manager were not returned."
What a classless jerk this Peden guy is.
Donate to Ron Paul today!
Since it seems unlikely that Ron Paul will get the
GOP nomination I hope that he is thinking of the next step. Perhaps an organization to help individuals wanting to follow his steps into politics or one devoted to preserving the Constitution and our American heritage. Regardless, I would like to see Dr. Paul's influence and ideas play a major part in reshaping the future political arena. With enough influence we just may have that third party candidate one day and/or reform the Republican Party. I wish now that Dr Paul had run third party. I think he would have had a better chance. At least that party would have supported him instead of shutting him out. But then, hindsight is always 20/20. I'll be writing in Dr. Paul's name and pray that everyone here does too. We can still make a difference.
Heh...
Understatement of the year... "unlikely"... don't censor yourself, just state the facts Liberty08. LMAO.
Ron has sown the seeds for the next iteration of the GOP, and that's 1000x better than no effect whatsoever coming off this campaign. I'm positive about that.

The facts speak for themselves
Yesterday's Money Bomb didn't happen. Let's at least recognize that and deal with it. Dr. Paul can't continue to campaign unless a great deal of money comes in very soon. We should be focusing on that.
I fell asleep with CNN on
and could tell throughout the evening as I woke repeatedly that Ron Paul must have prevailed in his contest. How did I know you ask? Not one mention of his congressional race. If he had lost you can bet they would have been trumpeting the news. Can you imagine if McCain, Clinton or Obama were up for reelection how much coverage there would have been?
If not us than who?
So now get your arse up to Pennsylvania
Lets see Dr. Paul come up to the Keystone State for 2 weeks - make a stand here since the Alamo has been run over & the MSM has annointed the presumptive nominee McCain - don't let us hang in the wind - the volunteers here need to hear something from HQ -

Well It's Certainly NOT Bad News -- It's Not Great News Either
Vote RON PAUL 2008
____________
I don't personally see anything as good when the entire process that surrounds that tiny island of good -- is bad. Meaning, winning in one District is certainly good (one positive voice as it has been -- and I want only the best for RON PAUL as he does for us) but there are 435 districts (in total) if I'm not mistaken. A majority win (in total) is what I would see as good news. But that's my take on matters. Majority rules, isn't that how the game is played?
Vote RON PAUL 2008
The revolution isn't just about this election.
Through the convention process and getting involved locally in the GOP. Running for local offices in 2 years we can get more Ron Paul Republicans in the congress. We hatched a plan
for 2 years to get a Ron Paul republican in District 22 (next to 14) in 2010.
After November the Republican party will be ripe for new faces to be involved. It is these people who decide who the candidates for congress and local offices are.
68% is a LANDSLIDE..... IT is IN YOUR FACE VICTORY!
It is going to take a lot of energy not to break out laughing and doing a victory dance next time I see someone who was a known Peden Supporter.
But, now is time for making friends and building a co-alition and finding common ground.

I think that it might be a good
time for Mr. Peden to lose his "day job".

vote with their magic boxes and believe what the magic box at home tells them. This will only make our job easier. Now that McCain has "clinched" the nomination, it will be easier for me get elected as a delegate, since the process is already over. :)

I thought
I thought Jersey had chosen all its delegates.
Nope. NJ has two primaries
Nope. NJ has two primaries this time around. One on Super Tuesday, and then we have another for House/Senate/Etc. primaries. Delegates are included on the second primary ballot.
Problem is, they are bound for at least one vote to McCain. So if he wins the nomination on the first vote, it won't matter who is elected as a delegate.

NJ is the most restrictive (sort of)
NJ is bound to 3 votes for McCain... by pledge not law. Breaking your oath is punishable by possibly being forbidden from being a delegate ever again. (Just the facts)
Assuming the delegates show up for the first vote
I imagine some of the delegates are in the bathroom when the vote is called.

How did McCain win in Ron
How did McCain win in Ron Paul's district in Texas? Obviously, all the people voting there were also the people who gave Ron Paul his overwhelming victory against Peden. Shouldn't he have also had the same victory over McCain there?
