Second wind time people
Now is the time to break through that wall. Athletes know to push beyond their boundaries and there is a scientific reason for this-it takes the body a long, hard time to switch from burning sugar to burning fat. That's what we need to do with this campaign.
Originally it was all sugar, the people who got excited and frothed at the mouth thinking this would be an easy win. When the going got tough the sugar bowed out and said "back to my shackles I'll leave the heavy lifting to the people who care".
The body, our remnant, must remember it takes a long, hard time to burn the fat it needs to win this race. And if we don't get in gear we'll peter out without getting into that second wind. Look at the other posts on this site, McCain hasn't Clinched anything, etc., the old media is trying to brainwash us again! Come on people lets remember we survived when 11 others have failed!

It's over, dude. Ron Paul couldn't even win in his home state!
At this point, what good will it do to be a delegate. What are you gonna do -- steal delegates from McCain and somehow emerge with Ron Paul the Republican nominee? Do you have any idea how much negative press and ill will from the public that would create? If 75% of the Republican voters cast their ballot for that jerk-wad McCain, do you honestly think you can pull a bait-and-switch and install Ron Paul as the victor? The outcry would be enormous. If you thought the last couple of Presidential election were bad -- hanging chads and potential lawsuits notwithstanding -- just wait until you try to affect the Republican convention.
I've supported Ron Paul since the early 1980s. I've spread the Ron Paul gospel for over 20 years. I campaigned for him hard in this Presidential bid. The time has come to throw in the towel and get out while RP -- and we -- still have some dignity.
My advice: Cease with the conspiracy theories, quite challenging every election result, stop e-mailing every media outlet that doesn't treat RP fairly, and just continue working to spread the message at the grassroots -- under the radar -- level. Meet in homes. Talk with friends. Lend books to people.
But, for God's sake, let this campaign go. It's over.

How do you 'know' that 75% of republican voters actually voted for McCain? Because you saw it on the tube, or read it in a paper? Because the 'best political team' on TV said so?
You don't. I don't. None of us does. That's the point. The system is suspect. It is flawed. The polls close @ 8:00pm and by 8:00:37pm MSM is 'projecting' winners. Based on non-scientific exit polls? Winners in a process where the actual results are months away? It's way too complicated. But that doesn't appeal to average Americans with ADD. Imagine if you had to wait 3 months to find out who won the Super Bowl? It just doesn't sell. Quick and easy, like American Idol. That's what they push. We are being fed bullshit, a self-fulfilling ad campaign. I do find it truly upsetting that you have been supporting RP for 20 years, but are giving up now. They've gotten to you too...
You are missing the point.

BTW: Does anyone know what happens if a "committed" delegate votes for someone else? What are the rules for that?
I might be wrong but the way I read it
committed delegates must vote the first time for who they have committed to. If no candidate gets the necessary votes to win the next vote allows a certain amount of delegates to change their vote. After two tries everyone is free to vote as they please.
