I NEED TO VENT! AAARGH!!!
I have TRIED to refrain from joining the conspiracy theorists, because it is the kiss of death. Once people can say you have expressed sympathies for such-and-such, you will be dismissed outright. But I can't take it anymore. There *IS* a conspiracy in *ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF BROADCAST MEDIA* to blacklist Ron Paul.
I knew PBS was left-wing, it is the home of Bill Moyers after all. But I've always appreciated The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, and preferred it over the major networks or cable. And I always chose PBS during Presidential addresses, because they always have fair and low-key commentary. No more. I'll never watch a PBS news program again.
Ray Suarez did a piece tonight on The NewsHour, about the recent Republican debate. Ron Paul was mentioned ONCE, very briefly, when they showed him third in the poll results. But during the meat of the piece, he was mentioned NOT ONE SINGLE TIME, nor shown on screen. Guliani? Check. Thompson? Check. Romney? Check. McCain? Check (although clearly undeserved at this point).
OK, I'm thinking, surely Paul is next, right? I mean, they do realize he is OFFICIALLY and UNDENIABLY a top-tier candidate now, right? They know he is one of only 3 candidates in the black, RIGHT?
THEY KNOW THIS IS A THREE MAN RACE BETWEEN GULIANI, THOMPSON AND PAUL NOW, RIGHT???????

During the commentary after the debate coverage, Suarez asked questions that would seem to be PERFECTLY suited to Ron Paul, yet his guests never took the bait. I'm hollering at the TV "RON PAUL!!! WHY DID YOU NOT BRING UP RON PAUL JUST THEN?!?" There was *no way* Suarez was unaware of the parallels to Ron Paul as he spoke, yet he also never steered the discussion to Paul.
So who did they bring up?

Paul eclipsed Huckabee into oblivion ages ago already! His candidacy should be over by now! He wins one poll after speaking to his fantasy audience of evangelical Christians, and suddenly the media has decided to revive his campaign? WHAT ABOUT RON PAUL?!? Where has the media been all this time?
I'll tell you where, they've been holding their breath in the shadows, hoping nobody says "Ron Paul" in their presence. They're breathing a sigh of relief right now, thinking they can bring Huckabee back from the dead and prop him up where Paul should be standing. They don't actually *care* about Huckabee, the point is that HUCKABEE IS NOT PAUL, and ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THAT DAMNED SYSTEM-SHAKER.
There IS a conspiracy in the media. Not just MSM, but *ALL* non-Internet media. It IS real. They ARE determined to prevent Ron Paul from being nominated. They have TOO MUCH to lose if he is elected. (Or so they think, for some unfathomable reason.)
This leaves me with precisely zero TV news outlets. I guess it's finally time to stop watching for good. Thanks, Ray!

I agree that its frustrating to turn on the "news"
and not see positive things about Ron Paul every night. But, we did just recently have a very good run on a lot of national news programs. Now is not the time to get antsy when there is a lull in the action. Google around for meetups and such in your local area.
After November most local elections will be over and the sign clutter will die down, this is when organized local events will stick out and make an impact. Use this time to donate like crazy and encourage donations, remember how the Paul campaign said that we got 40 million dollars in publicity from our 5 million in donations?
Talk it up with your friends, neighbors and co-workers with the best series of "campaign bullets" you can muster. Let's make our own news! Politics IS a very dirty game folks - and the worst thing we can do is to stare at the TV and let them feed "discouraging" disinformation to us because we "the shock troops" started this thing, we ARE the "base" and WE need to stay positive in order to bring others on board. Work on your talking points, donate, dream of good sign locations, read up on your local ordinances to see what your legal rights are to post signs, hand out "slimjims", etc., show up at the primaries to pass out RP literature and keep a "stiff upper lip"...
We can't count on "good breaks" from the MSM. Ron has pretty much been alone in this campaign at the national level but I foresee a very visible personality coming along to join the battle - and it will come, I promise!

Did you ever hear the ad for the Weekly Standard? They boast "We shape the news not follow it". So they are very up front about it.
Hillary has had MORE time spent on her on FOX than any other candidate. No matter that it's negative -- the public who likes Bill doesn't care about his peccadilloes in the white house.

You would think that the $5.3 million darkhorse republican candidate who is winning straw polls left and right across the nation and stirring things up online like no other candidate in history might be a story. Particilarly when he is resoundingly Booed by the radical republican base when he bravely stands tall for his rational anti-war position. Twice. Ron Paul is responsible for the few moments of reality that briefly illuminate these sharades. The silence and ignorance on the part of the MSM is damning evidence of their bias.

I'm drinkin one fer ya too. It's fer me, but I'll make it fer you. Lol. Fear not my friend. I just came back from a meetup signwaving. Only 6 of us. There may only be 51,000 of us actually in the meetup groups that go out and wave the signs, but I can assure you, after today, there are a shitload more Ron Paul supporters out there than you know. The reactions today were the best I have seen yet here in Florida and none of them were in our meetup group. To top it off, we only got the big "#1" one time in two hours at an intersection with 60 cars at any given time. Needless to say, we all turned and gave a big thumbs up sign while we yelled "yea" back toward him, knowing that most people didn't see what he did. So to them, it looked like yet another person liked Ron Paul. Lol. We don't need the media at all friends, all we need is motivated supporters.

the media is controlled by major corporations.. all those corporations care about is selling you products, taking your money, controlling competion threw controlling the government.. thus they do this threw bribes, donations etc.. there is no independent news source except for the internet.. until the internet grows up and people change from their old ways of watching cronkite etc. they will only believe what the news media tells them.. why do you think they put all of Ron Paul supporters down for being the online crowd. why do you think congress wants to regulate the internet?? the internet is the only thing the ruling elite does not control but they are working on it! For now, we have to accept mainstream media for what it is, warts and all. Getting bent out of shape isn't going to help us, but it might well make us look foolish.
We're already doing a great job of routing around mainstream media to get the word out, and to increase name recognition. Let's keep at it, and leave the conspiracy theories to Hollywood.

How much is intentional, and how much is monkey see monkey do, with the newer journalists trying to be like the big guys.
But if you watch the Aaron Russo interviews, he maintains that the media is mostly all bought off, or working with CIA, or other things. Strange things that J. Edgar Hoover did in the 1960's and 1970's are well documented.
Anyway, be careful how you approach this. Most people will still think you are crazy for believing in any manipulation. Also, be careful that you don't go too far into conspiracy theories, many people go to far into bizarre things like mind control, subliminal messages, etc. The control is not so fantastic. Think how a fraternity operates, and the groupthink involved in those organizations.

It's interesting how certain topics are OK and others are verboten.
The North American Union is OK because Ron Paul mentioned it in the very first debate, along with the National I.D. card. You can find some Lou Dobbs videos on YouTube in which he talks about this. It is still hush-hush, but I think it's a real initiative.
Mentioning the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) gets a mixed reception. Those who know about it (and I am one) know that it is insidious and has steered the U.S. into GATT, NATO, the United Nations, NAFDA, the WTO and the possible North American Union. However, more than one poster has admonished me with, "Cut out the CFR conspiracy crap!" Well, it is real and many have supported my views with a barrage of good supporting evidence. I also got a book, Shadows of Power by James Perloff. That pretty much confirms the story. Rockefeller's Memoirs also.
9/11 as an inside job is verboten. Even though there is good evidence to support the controlled demolition theory, those who talk about this are branded "nut jobs." Dr. Paul (wisely) maintains the conventional viewpoint. Were he to even breathe otherwise he would be marginalized more than he is now.
Somehow, "conspiracy" has gotten a bad rap. Our Republic was founded with one. It is our heritage and birthright. One thing I know: there is a lot of bad stuff happening under the cloak of secrecy.
