Seperating conspiracy theory from conspiracy fact- REPOST
I realize this post is going to get flamed. However, I felt the need to adress this issue. I consider myself an intelligent, discerning, informed person, not a "true believer" in any sense of the world.
The New World Order is a real thing. It is not the illuminati, or satan worshipers, or shape shifting aliens.
It is simply bankers, corporate leaders, and politicians. They believe in a global economic and political structure, lead by "enlightened" elites, whose decisions are made privately and whose authority supercedes that of "auto-determination." Even if their intentions are noble, we have learned from history that centralized economic planning doesn't work, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The Constitution is a document that understands history. There are checks and balances to prevent any one group from acquiring too much power. By ceding representative authority and checks and balances to groups of self-appointed elites, we are sure to lose freedom.
The new world order isn't really new. The rule of the aristocratic elite is very old. As Ron Paul says, liberty is new. And it requires constant vigilance. We have allowed our nation to become pacified. Our healthy skepticism of those in power has been replaced by cynicism and snarkiness. The true danger of the New, or really, Old World Order, is that now the level of technology will extend control to every aspect of every individual's life. With a one world government, be it official, or simply unannounced but still for all intents and purposes the true authority, there is no competition, either economically or politically. Even with technology, such a system is not flexible enough to the chaotic undulations of nature. Nevertheless, it can cause much suffering and death.
Many 'conspiracy theorists" mix up fact and fiction. They assume all conspiracies to be true, and don't question their own assumptions with the same rigor that they question authority. They, like the media manipulated masses, choose what to believe before the facts are presented. That said, it is ultimately irrelevant what these individuals believe as long as they support the principles and the fight we are working towards. An effort to purge conspiracy theorists will only create division and diversion, as we need unity to fight against our common enemy. Rather then attack conspiracy theorists, those of us who are of a more rational mind state should simply make our voices heard too, so people not converted to our cause can see there is a diversity of viewpoints in our movement. We can't win by becoming a church.
Perhaps some people are turned off by the conspiracy theorists. I don't believe catering to the cowardly masses will serve our interest. It is our courage and conviction that makes us strong.

We get up one morning and ignore them. The spell is broken.
If someone thinks that this is a conspiracy that is only a tribute to the ruler's ability to create a convincing illusion.

I've been saying this too...
It doesn't have to be a dark, smokey room type conspiracy to be a conspiracy.
Conspiracy, according to Webster's is...
the act of conspiring together
Conspiring, according to Webster's is...
1. to join in a secret agreement to do an unlawful or wrongful act or an act which becomes unlawful as a result of the secret agreement
2. to act in harmony toward a common end
See, it doesn't have to be "secret", or even unlawful, to be a conspiracy. It can just be groups of people working together to achieve a goal. Like the Council on Foreign Relations, for example. I have a buddy who thinks I'm some sort of "kook" every time I mention the CFR. Well, actually he's a good friend, so he doesn't say that. But... we'll be having a rational intelligent debate about the condition of our nation, and when I mention the CFR and their influence on our government, he says, "Yeah, but if you keep talking like that, people are just going to think your a conspiracy theorist." I tell him that I don't really care first of all... then I ask him why he thinks that. He tells me, "Well, all those crazy conspiracy people bring up the CFR, the Illuminatti, the Bilderberg Group when they talk about their outlandish ideas that the government is under someone else's control, and that these "secret" groups influence our governments policies."
So, I asked him, "How many of our recent presidents have been CFR members? He said, "All of them." I then asked him, "How many other high level members of our government have been CFR members?" He said, "A lot of them." So I asked him, "How about the Bilderbergs?" He said, "Same thing."
So, my next question was...
"How can you say then that these groups don't affect our government's policies?? All of our government's leaders come from these groups!!"
Then he talks about the CFR just being a "think-tank" and that they don't have any real power over policy. I explained that he may be right, that they don't sit around and go, "Ok, so next we need to get the government to do this..." It's more like they have their meetings and writings and speeches, supposedly all toward their common goals of making relations better between nations in a global environment... but being that they are mostly wealthy owners of international corporations... their "common goals" are not always the same goals as every day American's goals for our country. Their intentions may seem good, but their goals are to make sure they get to exploit the world's resources, people, and laws to make sure they get more money and power for their corporations, and removal of the laws that hold their corporations back.
See, the elite don't have to get together in secret with secret handshakes and rituals in order to "conspire" to do the things they do. I mean if I owned a multi-billion dollar, international corporation who's headquarters was in the U.S., I'd want to be able to hire cheap labor from other countries, move my material across the globe with few restrictions, and not to have to deal with a lot of laws to protect the environment.
What people don't realize is that these people are GLOBALISTS. They want a more global environment so they can make more money. They aren't concerned with the U.S., persay. They are more concerned with their corporation's success, than the success of the US of A.
That's my 2 cents.
P.S. I still think that some of them do meet in secret. A small "in the know" group that works together to plan the agenda. But don't tell anyone... I don't want to come across as a "kook".
Just kidding. I really don't care what other people think. Most of them are blind, conforming sheeple.
They also enjoy the power trip,
and believe that global government is good for the environment and it's people.

Working out our differences with civility is critical if we intend to push forward with any success. The contents of this thread can help with that.

I commented on the other thread
But its worth adding that even if it were true that JD rockefeller was sitting in his office like Montgomery Burns, plotting about how he was going to block out the sun, we would not win by yelling at him from across the street with a megaphone - "I see what you are doing JD Rockelfellar."
The way to win is to go back to the idea of the constitution, and individual liberty, and sound money. The real problem is that most people need to be reeducated about how this works. People used to be embarrased to receive charity, now they line up for free Cheese, mugging for the cameras. 1 in 10 men (1 in 3 black men) are in prison - what does that fact say about society. There is your fight. 1 in 6 soldiers from Iraq with PTSD - there's your fight.

You're right. Asking those
You're right. Asking those with power to stop abusing it isn't going to do much, if anything. We need to be building the base of liberty minded individuals so that in time we can force those at the top out of power. The key to that is educating the masses. We need to appeal to their interests to get them interested in learning what they don't know and eager to take up the struggle. Most people aren't going to listen to a raving man on a street corner, even if everything he says is correct. If we do shift this movement into education, and do it correctly, we can obtain other goals at the same time, like putting people into local office with an eye on national offices.

HEAR, HEAR!!!
it also bears saying that people are entitled to their opinions and may see or hear the same information and come to a different conclusion. It doesn't make one crazy and the other not just because the perceive different answers from the same information. IMO if you cannot disagree in a respectful way, then don't say anything back. Move on to the next post that interests you and ignore the ones that do not. Telling people that have been researching different topics for years that they are imbeciles just because your experience shows something different than theirs is insulting and counter productive.
We are fighting for our freedom here. We are fighting to get Ron Paul elected so that we are FREE to have an opinion even if it disagrees with everyone else in the entire world.
We are still (at least right now) entitled to it.
But for God's sake do it respectfully without calling eachother names and insulting. Fighting (especially over the internet) is pointless and silly.

I second the call for
I second the call for civility. Since Dr. Paul has all but lost the Presidential race (the delegate push is a noble one and will bear some fruit but don't expect it to deliver us the presidency) we need to shift this movement into one which builds our base through local political work and education. This shift isn't going to be possible if we are bickering among ourselves. Throwing around petty insults when people disagree is going to hurt us more than some people here understand.

At my place of employment, we can be a pretty ruthless bunch. We rib each other at the drop of a hat, for little or no reason at all. It's all in good fun, sharpening our wit on each others' psyche.
One statement always pops up in the midst of a debate...
"Don't let facts get in the way of a good argument!"
That's the way I see some of the posters on here that call 'truthers' and 'conspiracy theorists' "KOOKS"...
They don't want to let facts get in the way of a good argument.
Facts are, there is evidence that points to the things you post about, JG300. Some don't wish it were true, then get angry with the messenger of news they don't want to hear.
Just because you're paranoid
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't a conspiracy.... right?
So what? Get over it.
