ABC NEWS REPORTING RON PAUL HAS JUST OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED HE IS DROPPING OUT OF THE RACE- Except they're morons, and he's not...

They are referring to a youtube video that has just been posted but has been removed....
nobody knows for sure and the article is very vague.

here's a link to the youtube video that isn't working...

I'm thinking it was fake or something....
I simply can't believe Ron would do this to us.... and on a web video? It just doesn't seem believable.
Here's the video. He doesn't say anything about dropping out:

Ron Paul is headline news today - finally!
Republicans stuck with insane McCain will be thinking anew about Ron Paul today. Possibly some analysis will be chattered about on the msm. RP makes much more sense now to the masses with the economy in freefall. Ron Paul comes out smelling like a rose.
Phase 2
RON PAUL 2008
Indiana spreading disinfo
at approx. 5am local CBS affiliate http://www.wishtv.com reports " Ron Paul has ended his quote long shot campaign" these words came out of the mouth of morning anchor Joy Dumandan. There is nothing on their website that I can find to "back up" her "newsflash". Obviously, as a dedicated supporter, I am not falling for this cr*p and I heard Dr. Paul say NO SUCH THING. We never assumed that canvassing would be easy...THEY just made it more difficult and my personal resolve even STRONGER. This is an outrage nonetheless, considering we have a May Primary.
if anyone is interested jdumandan@wishtv.com (wish tv....because they WISH it was true :)
they are just like dumm children,..they cannot listen properly

Well said - no, he's not dropping out
You people who are bowing your heads in defeat haven't been paying attention.
Number 1 - this is about far more than one guy. This is our campaign and he's still there for us if we want him to be. And we do, so he is.
Number 2 - We're in a very strong position in terms of actual delegates. So strong that we are changing the Republican party itself - look at what's happened in Alaska and Texas (and elsewhere).
Number 3 - The Republican party does not want John McCain. He's winning the popular vote because that comes from the rank and file people who just vote how they're told to by the big shiny box in their living rooms. These people are idiots and are not going to decide this election. We are.
Number 4 - Look at how Dr Paul beat the Bush coalition that arrayed against him when he took his Congressional seat from them all those years ago. It was a stealth campaign, which means not showing your opponent you hand until you absolutely have to. THAT's the message I took from his video. He said - 'We're not going to win this through primaries and crap in the way that people do year on year - we're going to do this by working the system, under the radar.' Unconventionally. Seriously - listen to the man.
This is our election. We're going to win it, but ONLY if we keep the faith and keep fighting. And keep donating. We need a 'Don't you dare give up!' two week long money bomb. Starting now.

The cadence of your post
The cadence of your post title is quite similar to a line from "In Bruges" :)
The news Report of Ron Paul Dropping
is not a bad thing unless we let it be a bad thing. We can actually use it strongly to our advantage. McCains people, thinking he is the only candidate in the race now, are going to be far less motivated to get out and vote. WE MUST make sure that EVERYONE that supports Ron Paul's ideals shows up to vote in the remaining states.
So long as McCain's supporters believe RP has dropped out, and RP supporters DON'T cave, we could win some of the remaining states. At least one or two before they see us winning, and a win or two can result in other wins.
We've gotta use this to our advantage, not let it discourage. This is our gift horse.

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
wishful thinking...but many
wishful thinking...but many will think him dropped and will not even go to vote thinking McCain is it. Readers of that ABC report (now spread to internet) will believe McCain is the only one left---why not go to a vote in primaries to come?
Dr. Paul didn't say "I drop
Dr. Paul didn't say "I drop out" but he did say hopes for the presidency are over.
History says that it only takes 10% of a population to bring about wholesale changes in a government (revolution).
The remaining hardcore, plus the ones that gave up on Dr. Paul because they didn't think he was electable yet, is anywhere from 5-15% of the population.
We've got the numbers. Balls in our court. Woohoo! Let's get this party started...
;-)
No He Didn't say his hope is over
His hopes for a "conventional" political campaign or victory...
He said "conventional" - it was never conventional. The goal is still the same.

McCain is closing in on 51%
McCain is closing in on 51% of the delegates. Once 51% is reached, which may occur as early as next week, it is OVER.
Once a candidate reaches 51%, then delegates do not matter one single bit because the delegates will not get to vote at the convention (brokered convention). At 51% the only remaining role of the delegates is to hold signs and cheer or boo the speeches. That's it.
51% of delegates in the primaries equals INSTANT AUTOMATIC NOMINATION. McCain WILL have 51% in the next week or two or three.
Once McCain gets 51% McCain would have to either die or become the center of a titanic major scandal for Dr. Paul to have ANY chance at the nomination.
McCain WILL get the 51% before the convention. Dr. Paul knows this. Hence the new message and the timing of the new message. Dr. Paul clearly states he and us are moving on to the next stage of the Revolution.
The next stage of the Revolution doesn't include Dr. Paul as president. The next stage DOES include getting as many precinct leaders and delegates in the Republican process to use as a launching pad for electing as many Ron Paul Republicans as possible at as many levels of government as we can....
.(212)456-7777. HERE IS ABC'S NUMBER
AFTER YOU CALL POST SO OTHERS KNOW WHAT THEY SAID!!!!!!
I think he is getting ready
to spend more time with the supporters than trying to win the brain dead over then let the supporters bring in who they can. I think its a smart move. By the time the national convention comes around this country could be spinning out of control and people will take another look at Ron at that point. Also we can change alot of things we don't like in this party by showing up strong and full of energy at the RNC. He also talked about other organizations that are already in place We can join up with these and help out there. This is by no means just for the office of the presidency. Don't let the small stuff get you down. We have done so much in such a small amount of time. Pick each other up help one another regain your focus on what we are here to do. We are here to promote and make change. Guys by our very nature this is what we the Revolution does. Not on thing has changed. Actually if anything it is getting ready to get more exciting its getting ready to expand. This will not just be about one race this is getting ready to be about every race. I am actually very excited. Also Ron did not drop out he just lowered expectations thats all but we needed that. Its good we remember that there is more to this than Ron Paul. We are here to promote change. WE ARE CHANGED FOREVER AND WE WILL RING IT FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS! these are the times that try mens souls
REMEMBER! REMEMBER!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALL RIGHT NOW!!!!!
I JUST DID AND I SPOKE WITH A LIVE PERSON FOR NATIONAL NEWS. AND HE TOLD ME that the video published/released today said he was dropping out... I told him that I watched it also (which I did) and that he did not say he is dropping out, just cutting back some staff... he may even go up to Indiana to campaign.
I also watched that video, and a conference call to Indiana...
HE DID NOT SAY HE WAS DROPPING OUT!!!!cutting back on staff at HQ is all he said, and that makes sense, (why pay people when you dont need the large staff?
BTW HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD WORK AT HQ FOR FREE??? IF SO EMAIL HQ AND TELL THEM AND TELL THEM WHAT SKILLS YOU WOULD BRING TO THE TABLE.....
THIS IS A F****ING WAR AND WE NEED TO RESPOND!!!!!
HERE IS THEIR NUMBER PLEASE CALL THEM AND BE PISSED.....(212)456-7777.
Dr. Paul did say the
Dr. Paul did say the campaign for the presidency is for all practical purposes over. The Revolution isn't over.
The next stage is to elect as many Ron Paul Republicans at every level of government as possible and hopefully the next "Reagan" will arise out of the bunch.
I personally don't believe the Fascists in our government will allow the time for any such Ron Paul Republican movement to take off and will clamp down with martial law beforehand.
So, my plan is to do whatever I can to support Ron Paul Republicans while at the same time becoming self-reliant and preparing to Feed the Tree of Liberty Jefferson-style... if needed (and I think it will be -- sooner than later).
=)
Jefferson style...
I like that.
Hehe..
B-)
In the tubemall.net/undeletube video
link above he says something like, "...though victory in the conventional sense is unavailable for this presidential election...
Isn't this his gentle way of saying he's decided we can't win this year?
Victory in an unconventional sense.
Quote, "Though victory in the conventional political sense is not available in the Presidential race, many victories have been achieved."
I thought it was well worded. He realizes that he can't win in the conventional sense, as in winning the nomination. That's where we delegates come in, so victory can be achieved in an unconventional political sense. As delegates, we can turn things around at the National Convention.

And...
he's still under the radar.
Y'all have watched this for months now.... how can you actually win the nomination with EVERYONE against you but a growing band of grassroots supporters?
I'm native American.. I understand guerilla tactics.
delegates, delegates, delegates....
and make sure everyone mainstream thinks that you're never going to win.
I'm actually stoked right now... I'm a pessimist and things look pretty damn good from where I am sitting.
If you figure in all the angles.

Funny you say you're a pessimist. I too am a realist/pessimist, and think for the most part 'optimists are people with no experience.' (Nothing against optimists.)
Yet Dr. Paul has changed something in me, and I haven't lost hope yet. I'm a district and state delegate, and from my county, we have the majority of delegates going to both. Stay stoked!
I love Native American culture and history; what tribe are you a descendant of? Sorry if that's worded badly; I have the utmost respect for Native Americans. IMHO, they/you are the true Americans, and even though I, nor my ancestors had anything to do with it, I feel shame about what was done to the Native people.

That's
correct.
Wake up Paulites...
he is spending the rest of the $$, and educating the nation in any way he can. His serious election bid for president? OVER. You think ABC put the words in his mouth in this video? He did not officially drop out, but he has zero expectations to be president. We need to wake up to that fact, and listen to what he just told us. He said 3 things that stood out to me. Something like, "victory is not available in the presidential race", and "the presidential campaign will soon wind down", and "as bad as it seems.... todays events should be seen as an opportunity".
Us Paulites are smart people. All you need to do is listen to what the man is saying. I love the guy, but I'm seriously bummed.....
He also said
That the objective should be to continue to get as many delegates/votes in the remaining states as possible. He also said that he would try to visit any state where he is needed.
We need to finish strong. He, himself, said that this campaign is changing people's minds even in Congress (he said that in the Missouri conference call). So it's business as usual.

"I killed the banks"
I got this email 1 hour ago
ABC has an article claiming Ron is dropping out in a webcast tonight.
The word from Carol Paul is that no, we aren't dropping out. A webcast has
been filmed stating that they intend to keep going for delegates in every
state and Ron will be going to rally with the meetup members in the states
still to go. Having not seen the video yet my guess is that someone who
heard about it is trying to spin that as a soft "not really campaigning"
thing. The media lies, people die.
We are still in this.
Here's the article from ABC:

Jeremy
I called...
The guy says, were getting alot of calls right now but we stand by our story. He seemed stressed.. I asked if they were concerned with having a liable case against them, and he said no, we stand by our report...
Remember the past as you look forward to today...
What you believe to be true, is true to you... "until you change your mind"
Is "parsing" required for all HQ items?
QUOTE: The presidential campaign will soon wind down, but we do still encourage all effort to gain the maximum number of votes and delegates in all the remaining primaries and to continue the caucus process that's ongoing in the other states by loyal volunteers.
I'm sorry, but the entire tape is about the organizations that will be used to move the *movement* forward (not a single word about his candidacy except that it will "soon wind down").
What would RP's explicit withdrawal *now* do to all the efforts in the remaining states? So, he is saying he will still support the delegate process, presumably with the intent to impact the GOP *party*.
Nowhere does RP indicate continuing his *presidential campaign*, just that those other options need financing.
And no one is mentioning that RP said HQ will *not* be in charge of any March, but he suggested June 21.
Is it any surprise that the MSM is posting he has dropped out, if it clearly looks like that to me as a supporter?
Wouldn't surprise me if it were true
Ron Paul has stated on many occasions he would stay in the race as long as he continued to gain supported AND FUNDING. His funding has only been a few thousand a day for several weeks now. At $3000 a day he can't keep going for very long. And we all know he's not going to float a loan.
