In the video Dr. Paul said he could see a MARCH on Washington..And he thought June 21st would be a good date....He said nothing about a FREEDOM< RALLY.. the Freedom Rally has been planned for months and will occur on April 15th. Please make sure you know which you are referring to when posting.

We talk about not wanting government in charge, well Ron Paul is giving us a chance to demonstrate how this is done. Don't look to Ron Paul to do all the work, and just throwing money at the problem isn't going to work either!
Be in Washington on the 21st of June as requested by Ron Paul.
If you can't be a delegate, then volunteer at the convention, you will be able to influence undecided voters.

A show of support in our nation's capital. Where all of those guys and gals have been rolling up the constitution like a piece of TP.
We need to show them that we mean it and that there a lot of us...

I hope I get to see any of my so called reps....I will say..."Thanks for voting for HR 1955, senator!...Our meetup is raising money to field a candidate who will beat you in the next election you piece of shit! Yea! That was my 226 emails!"
And he will say..."Oh my! those Ron Paul people don't want to be slaves...well...well...well, freedom lovers...have to put a stop to them...oh yes...my...my...my."
The accomplishment was called for by the leader of our movement who was fighting for my freedom when I was in 6th grade.

Each Meetup should make an appointment
to talk to their Congressman during the week before the March. Arrive a few days early and DO THIS! Perhaps each state could invite their Senators and Reps to a reception with a few good RP speakers to 'splain to them what we expect! (in a polite way, of course) This is called lobbying your congressman, and we need to do it before the weekend in case they go home on the weekend.
Do we have any event planners on board here that would help organize receptions at nearby hotels for each state? Or perhaps for each region?
A Freedom Rally will accomplish what?
Please be specific. No media or delegate will ever see it. I would love to meet all the other supporters out there but let's get real: D.C. will not be constructive in bringing the message of the rEVOLution to anyone, let alone getting Ron Paul into the White House. If you can, then by all means, go! I will try to make it but if I am forced two make a choice then you will see me in St.Paul handing out slim jims outside of the hotels and the convention center. I won't need a permit nor will I carry an obtrusive sign or speak through a bullhorn. It's all about stealth. The delegates are everything at this point. As a group let's focus on this priority.

Thank you for the incentive. Now I just have to verify if they (our congressmen) will be there or squandering my tax dollars in Cancun. They will be given two options: Be there or be removed; no exceptions. This irresponsible, unconstitutional and criminal behaviour has been going on for 75 years. It will end June 21, 2008.

The question stands: What will a D.C. Rally accomplish?
I don't disagree with anything you say. But if confronted with a choice I believe I need to help Dr. Paul get into office rather than take two weeks off work to hear a speech that no reporter or delegate ever will. Dr. Paul will only be preaching to the choir.
I am in no way attempting to discourage anyone from attending D.C. If I can afford to attend both functions you can meet me at the Capitol Limited on June 20th, at 1:30 p.m. in Union Station. I'll be the one being "detained" at every checkpoint between the train and the public restroom.

with the permits. I agree we should not need to get a permit. when you fill out a permit that in a sense is a contract for them to controll us. Screw them. Count me in for DC and Minnesotta and possibly for the Granny warriors on April 15

I have to choose only one event and I'm picking St Paul. If I could afford both I'd do both, but the convention is higher on my priority list. I think people should do either or both.

Since this is no longer an official function, but a grassroots event, does it really matter how many show up?
How many show up at your weekly Meetups? Did the true supporters of the R{love}ution stop?
How many people did each of you personally convince to vote for Dr. Paul? 1? 5? 10? Did you stop, or did you keep trying until the election was over?
And so what if it is just a "feel good" event? Don't the supporters deserve to come together to celebrate?
Did we stop supporting the cause every time the MSM didn't cover Dr. Paul? If we had, this would have been over long ago.
In this Age of the Internet, the March will be covered, whether by professionals or one of us. It will be available for everyone worldwide to witness.
I agree with Devvy Kidd that we need people at the convention. But the two events are not mutually exclusive. Some may be able to attend one, but not the other. If you can attend both, that's fantastic. If not, so what?
The first battle campaign is nearing an end (though it's not over yet!), but the R{love}ution has just begun!
March in appreciation of Dr. Paul for awakening us, and march to let the government know that we haven't given up!

It would be nice to know the location, or where a march would begin so we could decide where to get our hotels. Does anyone know this, yet?
Screw the Permit!
In my mind, this is part of what we are all fighting for. A permit is simply a license to break a law. What law are you breaking by simply exercising your freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of speech. Permits should not be required. They are just another tool of the system to stifle dissent. Don't ask them permission to practice your God given rights!

I have a huge road-trip planed for the beginning of the summer to go ride rollercoasters... and it just happens to pass through D.C.! This is great news. I can easily split my driving time by going to the march inbetween Kings Dominion and Six Flags Great Adventure. I was a bit worried at first, but this will be just fine.

I just booked my airfare, hotels, and Kings Dominion, Six Flags America, AND Hershey tickets before I read this. Everyone have enough Ron Paul shirts to wear at the parks! I'm looking for a coaster as scary as the economic ride were on... I think I'll be disappointed.

That is a great idea! I will wear a "Who is Ron Paul?" shirt at every one of the 11 or so parks I am stopping at. That is thousands of people who will wonder, "Who is Ron Paul?".
BTW, if you want one that reflects our market... Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure comes to mind. Intamin rocket coaster, launches from 0 to 124 in about 4 seconds, climbs a 458 ft tall tower, and plummets back down with a 270 deg twist. Short as heck but it is a rush.

Yep, me and my wife will be wearing our Ron Paul gear the whole time, so you know who we are.
We were easily able to get a hotel right next to Washington mall (and the IMF & World Bank, ironically... bastards). I suggest you book ASAP, because choices will be limited and expensive, once rooms start filling up. Being able to walk to the mall from the hotel will be priceless.
Couldn't squeeze Great America into the mix, but with three parks, I should get my fill. Hope to meet every one of ya!

Regarding Devvy Kidd article -This whole election has been very emotional for most of us. We have put so much time, energy, and money into it that this rally needs to be for US. So what if the media doesn't pick up on it. Dr. Paul has said Washington D.C. on June 21. As a Ron Paul supporter I want to see our numbers! I want to see tons of Freedom lovers shouting......

The convention is another issue. There will be tons of other protesters there that day and everyone will be at least six blocks away from the convention building.
