isn't it too late to save the republican party?
i registered republican only to vote for ron paul...
i bet a lot of the people here are the same way...
all of this talk about saving the republican party seems futile to me...
this party has been dying for a long time now...
why the obsession with saving it?
i understand the hassle and cost of third party bids- but i think we need to all remove ourselves from the republican party...
why play by their rules? if this revolution truly is a revolution- then why hang on to old dying ways...
the republican party is dead- it is a ghost of its former self...
i say we seriously consider creating a new party- or melding with other similar parties to challenge the two party scam... i think we should do this after the convention-- if there is a 1% chance that something major happens where ron paul is thrust into nomination for republican party then he should go, make his speech and warn republicans of the party split-- tell them that from here on out- he and his supporters are leaving the party and as a result will put the last knife in the republican party...
it will have the effect of siphoning votes from the republican party candidate- yes- but it will also be a bold message that their party has been hijacked and has died-- and that those of us who are true conservatives are not putting up with it anymore- and that until they wake up-- they will lose our votes and will have a democratic candidate-- this idea of playing inside the two party structure does not sit right with me...
ron should make his case at the convention and then say for one last time- we are done... done playing these stupid games- and that we are going to take back our country-- with the american party- or the freedom party- or the liberty party-- whatever---
when the republican party sees how many people deregister as republican they might shit themselves...
in all reality though- i believe our nation has collectively pushed the gas pedal to the floor even though there is a cliff about a quarter mile ahead-- we will soon see a deepening recession- one that we will never quite crawl out of- monetarily and energy wise...
it does not really matter who is the president anymore-- what matters is that we will see social welfare imperialism take hold more and more until we are all without liberty...
this is a fight that i am not willing to fight as a republican anymore... at least i think so-- if anyone can convince me otherwise- i am listening...

....it is not a matter of whether or not it is "worth saving." The structure is already there... It has the word "republic" in it. It is very, very weak and easily taken over. As someone pointed out, the NeoCons found both parties very easy to take over and they are not that dissimilar now.
Let's use the structure....and take advantage of the confusion within. That is the reason for the delegates....the Ron Paul like candidates. The Revolution.
