So I'm still undecided. First off if it is true, Ron Paul is a genius and a very hilarious man. What am I talking about? The possibility Ron Paul knows the only way he can get media coverage is if it is negative about his campaign. If this is true then he would hint, but not expressly say he is out of the race. He's shown the media to be lazy and wrong before. I remember the flumox after Romney dropped out of the race. The media got Ron Paul's message all wrong and showed they had egg on their face.
But, I have called the campaign and they told me McCain is only 20-30 pledged delegates away from clinching the campaign. So, if it is true the campaign is either in cahoots with Ron Paul or no one else but Ron Paul knows the strategy.
This reminds me of a card game called 'All praise the master mao', where only the dealer makes the rules. So every hand a new dealer could make new rules. It can make for a very frustrating game if you can't see the method behind the pattern.
Does the campaign know we have enough delegates to stop the first round of voting? Do the state coordinators know? Do you know?

Even if McCain gets awarded every damn delegate
it means nothing. We are going to St. Paul and winning every delegate back. Delegates can change the rules, the do not have to be bound.

I mean, he can't lose until somebody wins in September. That's when the delegates vote. The rules say anybody with demonstrated majority support from the delegates of 5 states can be put up for the nomination.
The marching orders are to get delegates and votes.
I don't know whether what he does is smart or simply unconventional, but he seems to have good Karma, either way.

Maybe just maybe...
Everyone underestimates him because of his genteel demeanor. But you do not get to be re-elected to Congress in Texas, no less, where jerimandering district map, voter caging, vote rigging is part and parcel of their everyday retail politics, without being a shrewd politician. Sure he's a statesman, but you have to be very strategic and smart to stay in that long. I do not know of any politician who's been elected consecutively with growing percentage of the votes, every election cycle, especially with a jerimandered district map that changes its demographics from white suburban, to black urban, to latino urban, all thrown in.
He may just be a genius and is far more savvier than the rest in taking advantage of the MSM than they give him credit for.
