Confused Precinct Leader - - HELP NEEDED

In a recent article, Jesse Benton said Paul acknowledges he won’t be this country’s next president

Simple question and I'm not looking for negative feedback just a clear answer. As a precinct leader what should I be doing? I thought my MAIN responsibility as a precinct leader was to get Ron Paul ELECTED president. If he, himself, admits he won't be the next president, how do I, in good conscience, campaign for him to be the next president???

Delegates rule!

Actually delegates make the rules!
What are you worried about, get out there and convince people to vote for Ron Paul. If he wins the nomination he will need their vote in November. If he doesn't win the nomination, he will still be leading the Revolution, since he has already won this leadership position. The Revolution doesn't end because the media says so, it ends when we accomplish what we set out to accomplish.

Right

Carry on as if there is still a chance that he might be president, because there is still that chance. Keep working. We can do no less. Work harder, faster, stronger, more determined. Our chances are slim at the convention, but they are there if we get enough people. It hangs on the 9 states that are left. Can you guys do it? The country is watching with baited breath.

Carry on CoalCracker -- here is a straight answer

Dear CoalCracker --

Undoubtedly, Lew Moore and company are not telling you the importance of your position of precinct captain -- in full. So I will.

First of all, Ron Paul has said he will be in till the convention. So sticker your SUV and put up your signs and carry on. I'm in a state that has already had a primary and my Ron Paul sticker will stay on my car until the November election -- maybe beyond.

As long as Paul is on the ballot in an upcoming primary in your state -- then campaign in your precinct to get votes for him by educating people as to what he stands for. By educating people in your neighborhood now and throughout the year as opportunity presents -- you are also preparing to WIN your elected precinct position two years from now. If about 300,000 other Ron Paul supporters do the same around the country -- then we will take back the country, or be in a position to do so by 2010. Let's continue:

Now, has the Ron Paul paid staff told you what I am about to tell you? The reason we need precinct workers in EVERY precinct, is to actually RUN for the office of precinct. This, in most states, is on the PRIMARY BALLOT in May or whenever your state primary is in EVEN years. People actually vote for Republican precinct captain, and it is an elected position. Those who take the REPUBLICAN BALLOT at the primary in even years -- are the ones who vote for their local precinct chaiman.

If the Republican precinct position in your neighborhood is vacant (1/3 of the precinct positions in the USA are vacant), then if you collect the five signatures or whatever is required in your state to get on the ballot, then you will win if you simply vote for yourself.

If there is somebody running against you for precinct captain in your neighborhood, then whoever gets the most votes from your neighborhood wins the position. The reason this is so important . . .

. . . is because we need to get Ron Paul supporters elected to a MAJORITY of precinct positions in each county to OVERTHROW the current NeoCon leaders in each county by VOTE at the county GOP organizational meeting that will be held about a month after the primary in your state (usually June or so in most states in the even years). This is, in effect, a top secret meeting that the GOP, the DEMS, AND the local media take great pains to informing the public about. Why?

Because all the power is in the hands of the local GOP and DEM party chairmen for the next two years: they pick which candidates to endorse, and the endorsed candidates win 90% of the time; they also decide how the votes are counted in your local county, i.e., whether by hand in the open (as it should be), or by secret computer county, as 95% of these disgusting local GOP and DEM leaders have instituted, by delegating the vote county process to one of four mega-corporations (Diebold, Sequoia, Hart, ES &S) which "count" 96% of the US vote.

Then the GOP would be turned into a Ron Paul Party, county by county.

The GOP county leaders then elect the state GOP Party leaders, who then elect the NATIONAL GOP party leaders. Right now we have disgusting and traitorous neocons in all these positions, which is why the party is so hostile to Ron Paul -- and no amount of clicking tea cups with them is going to help. They need to be OUSTED by majority vote at each county organizational meeting in 2010. The reason I'm guessing you were not told any of this -- is because these are "fighting words" to the thugs running the GOP and the DEM party at all levels.

If your primary is over for this year, or about to happen, then prepare to get on the ballot for Precinct Captain in your neighborhood in 2010. This is what should be told to ALL Ron Paul precinct execs, but since one of Lew Moore's prime objectives has been to avoid offending the NeoCons running the GOP -- then I doubt if you've been told this. Am I right? -- But there you have it, coalcraker, -- a straight answer to your question for what you should be doing -- and what we ALL should be doing.

Jesse Benton never quoted Dr. Paul saying he is quitting.

No one has ever provided a quote from Dr. Paul that says he is quitting. Therefore Dr. Paul is not quitting.
Since Dr. Paul is not quitting it means he would appreciate our continued support. This is something he states repeatedly. As a precinct leader you should continue in your efforts canvassing and talking to friends and family about Dr. Paul's message of freedom and a return to the Constitution. Ron Paul will be President of the United States of America in 2008.

Ron Paul CAN win!

First, rread all of the delegate threads on dailypaul.

The delegate selection is how we will get Ron Paul nominated. As precinct leader, as you canvas for Ron Paul, also ask if they would like to be a delegate and keep that list. Use it after the primary to get them to show up to the caucus. Make sure everyone who attends the caucus brings at least one other person.

If you do these things, Ron Paul will be well supported at your state convention.

Full steam ahead!

I, too, am a precinct leader, and when I first listened to Ron Paul's video, I was a bit taken aback. But, after listening to it the second time, it became clearer to me what he is trying to tell us supporters. The time has come (as he had been telling us from the beginning) for his supporters to stand beside him and spread the message of freedom, peace and prosperity. There are so many variables that could put Dr. Paul in the forefront of this presidential race, and I think every one of us should continue on as before. Here in PA, we intend to do just that!

"Nothing is as it appears; everything is smoke and mirrors"

I know this will be tricky, but why don't you try just telling

them like it is. For one thing, they would be voting for what Ron Paul stands for, they are actually voting for delegates--who will decide the parties platform. They would be voting against McCain and what he stands for. Also, tell them it is a long way till September when the actual convention will decide who the nomination will go to, a lot can happen between now and then. There are really own two candidates left in the Republican campaign, yet you see many people still voting for candidates who have dropped out, now why are they doing that?...it is more of a protest vote, against McCain and a vote for what their candidate stood for. Even though I already voted,,, I still would have voted for Ron Paul anyway if he would have dropped out earlier, as long has he was on my ballot. Voting is more than just about who we think is going to be President, it is about voting for who we truly feel would make the best President, regardless of what everyone else thinks or feels. At this point you are probablly going to have a harder time persuading someone who is in the Hillary/Obama/camp to change their mind. But everyone else should be up for grabs. And remember, this is about changing peoples total outlook--not just about the Presidency, it is a Revolution of ideas.
Hope this helps, good luck.

very confusing

So I'm rooting for a man that can not win or this is media twisting.

I have just had two signs made up and was preparing to sticker my suv

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
