Amid all the theories...a simple fact.
Theories abound on Daily Paul and elsewhere as to what his happening with Dr. Paul's campaign.
- Why does he allow voter fraud to go unchallenged, most notably in his own district, where he received over 37k votes to retain his congressional seat, but less than 7k votes for president?
- Why does he let everyone believe that he's dropped out of the race, when we all know that he has not?
- Why is he not taking charge when it comes to rallying the troops for a real march on Washington?
...and the list goes on.
But there is one indisputable fact when it comes to Dr. Paul's campaign, and that is this: At the end of 2007, our candidate was king of (republican) fundraising...and we have seriously dropped the ball in the first quarter of this year.
We need to stop worrying so much about things that are beyond our control, and start concentrating more on the one area where we, the supporters of Ron Paul, have been most effective.
Those Moneybombs got attention, and they served as motivation for both Dr. Paul and his supporters. I don't know what it will take to reignite the revolution's fundraising efforts, but I hope something happens soon. I am not looking forward to comparing Dr. Paul's Q1 fundraising to that of McCain.
There are still a lot of good things going on out there, but I certainly wouldn't know about them if not for Daily Paul. As for the March on Washington, I believe that it is a good idea, but only if we can amass a crowd of supports SO LARGE THAT THEY CANNOT BE IGNORED.., and for that, we need to start getting some people seriously psyched up!

There are several reasons
for the loss of momentum, and some of them have been noted here.
I can tell you from decades of experience that the key, and as yet unappreciated problem with our campaign, is inadequate organization. Such organization as there is, is not enough, and the traditional way in which we are encouraged to go about things is simply not good enough—either to capture the imagination, or to get the job done.
Dr. Paul is the spiritual advisor and visionary leader of this Movement. What this Movement seems to lacks is someone who understands the complexities we face, and knows how to galvanize the support, to reinvigorate the people who, like us, have felt the loss of energy in recent weeks.
Just telling people, in effect, to "get out there and do it," may be technically correct, but organizationally, it's not nearly enough.
We need a Strategy worthy of that word, and there isn't one now... just a collection of Tactics which are not the whole answer we need. For example: What are we prepared to do if the currency collapses in coming weeks? A good Strategy must takes such things into account. For lack of that sort of in-depth thinking, this campaign is exposed to several needless vulnerabilities.
The March is not good Strategic thinking. Dr. Paul himself has been unable to state any clear, measurable or believable benefits that will come from it, yet he has stated quite clearly that there are real downside risks. But the money people will spend for a mini-vacation to that, umm, destination, could run into millions, and better fund other, more critically needed campaign activities. This is not compelling leadership.
For a good example of the sort of thinking should be more evident in this Movement, read stalwart Ron Paul supporter Devvy Kidd's take on the march:

Go Ron Paul | Go Grassroots
it's simple
We are all human. We want to see our money accomplish something. The single-digit results we've gotten so far are demoralizing when what we all wanted was victories. You can't expect people to remain as excited about the cause after seeing zero primary victories and a complete switching of all media attention to McCain.
That's the ugly reality of where we've traveled over the past 2 months. So, what do we do about it? Well... it seems to me that the campaign has essentially told us that the remaining primaries are our responsibility; that the campaign isn't going to do a whole lot in these battles. Not to say they won't do anything, but the bulk of the activity will have to come from us. Personally I'm OK with that as long as we know Ron is in it and still wants to win. But it will be our mutual responsibility to fire up the troops and target each goal as it comes up. Here in Oregon we have such a late primary that it's entirely probable that nobody will care by the time it arrives. That actually presents us with an opportunity to encourage our fellow Republicans to make a strong statement by voting for Ron. He'll be the only other choice for them besides McCain. We will also be letting them know that Ron *does* still want the nomination and we can put him in position to make his bid for it at the convention by giving him a vote of confidence in our primary.
Fundraising... yes, we need to keep it going. I don't see any possibility of big money bombs at this point, though; the enthusiasm simply won't be there on the wide scale for something like that. But those of us who are fighting in this late stage of the primary cycle certainly should keep the fires stoked at HQ with some donations. Ron is continuing to fight for us and for liberty and the battle for the nomination continues!
