Any one else feel this way? Just curious
What happened?
Here is my post explaining why I think these threads got so rough. It is a continuation of my theory some groups may be trying to hijack the Revolution, it's resources and message. I was shocked to be attacked by several libertarians. Who knows if they really were :) Here is my response to you:
"I was a little rough on purpose. I was interested in the responses. Some of these folks fancy themselves uber intellectuals. It's really hard for them to hold back and not reveal their "theories" etc. I wanted to hear what they had to say about restoring the Constitution. Many fear this becoming the central theme of this Revolution because it will become impossible to radically change later. The people will protect it. So, one strategy they might use is to suggest focusing on something else, Liberty, Freedom, etc and marginalize the Constitution. Pretend it has no more meaning to Americans then a piece of paper or a simple tool. I just wanted to provoke enough information so I could get a feel for the "room" so to speak. Interesting threads."

I'm a neo con? Wow.
There are some creepy people on this forum. Like the ones who want to use Ron Paul and the Revolution to further their own agenda, like replacing the Constitution. Very creepy.

A tool?
Are you a hard core Libertarian? Is it true you don't want to restore the Constitution? You want something else?
"Hi, I'm not a Ron Paul
"Hi, I'm not a Ron Paul supporter but I play one on the internet"

I don't really know what you mean, anyway.
What is a hard core libertarian? Which positions qualify?
Not important
I get your agenda. Use the revolution to restore the Constitution so you can then change the Constitution to "something else". That is really interesting.
So, you like to throw labels...
...but refuse to explain the beliefs you associate with those labels. You refuse to give any reason for your dislike for "hardcore" libertarians. Sounds like you're just a zealous little bigot to me.
Oh Twin , you have already revealed to us
that you are a Libertarian. Over and over. Whoops
Yeah, no scheiss, dude!
Yes. I am, in fact, libertarian in outlook. Like just about everyone else here. Apparently, being a bigoted little neocon stooge makes you incapable of answering questions. I'll try one more time. Name one libertarian philosophy you think does not belong in this movement, other than an attitude on the document we call the Constitution. Or is that enough? Name one policy stance you believe is associated with libertarians you think is bad. Or are you just a smoke-blowing neocon troll?
I'm here because the banner at DailyPaul
clearly says this is a forum to support restoring a Constitutional government. It does not say to restore the Constitution then change it something "better". Like the thread says, I was just wondering if anyone else felt this way. Good night.
No, I want to restore the Constitution...
...it'll make a good place to rest as we prepare for something even better.
Oh I see, you are using The Constitution
to set up something else. So you are using this Revolution to set up something else. I think I already figured that out.
Blah blah blah...
Liberty and freedom are the (only good) rationales behind the Constitution, and are far more important than it. If we were to discover something which served that cause better, we should change to having that be our goal without hesitation. The Constitution is a tool, a means to the end of liberty. That's it.
zeus those links are awesome!
Thank you. Great post.
I totally agree...
...that defending the Constitution is the most important thing. Ron Paul has said it's not about him. The Constitution protects our freedoms and liberties so in order to protect our freedom and liberties we must first focus on preserving and restoring the Constitution. My old web site has changed into Constitution Revolution. I'm still working on it but I am looking for people who can email me links and info on threats to our Constitution so I don't have to spend all my time searching for bills in Congress, informative news articles, etc... I don't have much time to do it all by myself and as quickly as I would like because of my crazy hours at work and my family. A 3 year old will keep you busy. The new pages are the ones with little to nothing on them and the rest were parts of my old site that I was able to incorporate. I just got the basic look of them done and am now ready to fill em up with the truth. I can find all of the info if I have to but if anyone here cares to contribute info to help it move along faster I'ld appreciate it. Here's the link http://www.constitutionrevolution.info
I need to get some new business cards made so I can leave them laying around in public, flyers to put on telephone poles and what not, and get it submitted to search engines, etc... Like I said the site is up but not finished! I've got a ton of Ron Paul sites that I will link to after the campaign and the race are over so I can see which ones will drop off and which will stay or evolve into a limited Constitutional government type web site and continue the fight. No matter what the fight/ revolution WILL go on. Join the John Birch Society http://www.jbs.org and continue the fight to restore the Constitution. Get the Republic magazine http://www.republicmagazine.com/ and the New American magazine http://www.thenewamerican.com/ and read a lot of books. Get fully informed (if you're not already) and get fully active! This is our country!
I'm ready to keep going on and on so I'm gonna stop. I don't like to type that much.

"I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism.. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is." -- RONALD REAGAN
Ron Paul was one of the four original Reagan Republicans in congress back in the 1970's.
The Reagan Revolution was built on a coalition of Goldwater libertarians and traditionalist conservatives.

I agree.
The Constitution should be the focal point of our revolution.

I hear what you are saying
but if someone has ulterior motives, there isn't much you can do about it except recognize it. No one has the power to change Ron Pauls campaign platform, it is what it is.
The truth is that unless
The truth is that unless delegates are able to pull off a miracle at the convention, Ron Paul's campaign platform will only serve as a guide for those continuing the fight to restore the Constitution. This revolution will continue, and Ron Paul will be a large part of it, but the push to restore our rights is bigger than any one man and his platform.
As we move ahead the first plank of our platform needs to be restoring the Constitution, particularly when dealing with people that call themselves conservatives or Republicans. When dealing with people who call themselves liberals or Democrats, I think our first point should be explaining how the Federal Reserve System and fiat money hurt the poor and enable the funding of war.

we realy made a mess of things, Manystorm I appologize for that, and to everyone who seen the threads and posts I made.
yeah, I made a long post to as well and it came up as being potential spam.
Basically not much we can do, everyone is taking the constitutions side to get people under their wing. That is why I think Ron Paul is the place to start, his ideas are the way to go.
Most do not want to hear it, as they are hooked into the socialistic state we are in now, but I still think it is the right way to go.
Just keep in mind, people change, even I changed my opinion of the sherman ant-trust act after hearing Ron Paul say how it is being used against us instead of for us.
Not necessarily your post
That spam comment seems to pop up if you try to reply to a thread that has been flagged (7 times?) and is in the process of being automatically deleted by the software.
It's much safer to create the post elsewhere and copy it in when it's in final form.
A couple of times I've done something that opened a new window in the same session as DP and I lost everything!
