Paul excluded from Poll
Submitted by freedom360 on Tue, 10/23/2007 - 13:32
After we carried Paul to a total victory the owner of the site removed Paul as an option. Now it reads "Other than Ron Paul, who is your favorite GOP candidate?"
LOL!
Everyone should now go and vote for Tom Tancredo, hehe.

Tom Tancredo at 82% haha
Tom Tancredo at 82% haha
Geesh...now I feel a tiny bit bad for messing up his second poll
This guy seems sincere...course if he was REALLY sincere he'd just come out and endorse Dr. Paul since he practically does it in his reply....
But anyway, for those of you who'd like to see what he wrote in response to us flooding the poll....here it is...
PAUL WINS DAY ONE OF PRESIDENTIAL VOTE
As expected, Ron Paul’s grassroots supporters fired up their nationwide network to weigh in on the IVA’s presidential poll yesterday. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Paul supporters from all over the country came to the IVA website to cast their votes for Rep. Paul, with the result that he received 91% of the votes cast.
This demonstrates the fervor of Paul’s grassroots support, as this is street level political engagement at its finest. His supporters are to be commended for their engagement at all levels of the political process.
It’s also a reminder that Paul has tapped into a reservoir of energy not often seen in American politics. I have been struck all the way along the campaign trail at the level of intensity Rep. Paul generates among his followers.
For instance, over the last two days I have corresponded with Paul supporters in Illinois, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Maine and states beyond, all of whom took the effort not just to vote but to contact the IVA directly to explain their support for his candidacy.
While many conservatives do not share his aversion to the Iraq war effort, there is obviously something in his message that resonates with many main street Americans, and I suspect it has a lot to do with his fierce allegiance to the Constitution and his absolute unwillingness to do anything that the Constitution does not authorize Congress to do.
For instance, if Paul were president, he too would have vetoed the SCHIP bill, as President Bush did, but for different reasons. Bush vetoed it because it was too big; Paul would have vetoed it because it existed at all, since the Constitution nowhere authorizes the federal government to provide health care for American citizens.
One key to the GOP’s ability to regain the allegiance of younger Americans is to forcefully join Paul in resisting the growth, size and intrusion of the federal government not just in words but in deeds, legislation and votes.
Email response from Bryan (my vote went in yesterday)
Hey Everyone,
Check this out... for whatever reason I decided to email Mr. Fischer yesterday after my vote. My message follows and then his response.
Hello Bryan,
Just wanted to let you know that I have just selected "Ron Paul" on your poll. He is currently at 91%. I am not a spammer, I am a Christian, American and father of three. I just wanted to give you an idea of who a "Ron Paul" voter is. Not some nut like others like to promote. Please do your due diligence and look into Dr. Paul's positions and listen to his message.
This country is going down the drain and a return to our founding documents is essential.
Thanks for your time,
His Response from yesterday...
Thanks, Greg - Mr. Paul obviously has very intense support from his followers, and I think you have identified the reason - most conservatives know that the federal government has become far too big and far too intrusive, and has gone far astray from the limitations imposed on it by the Constitution. The GOP ignores this reality to its peril.
Bryan
Peace Out
He posted a resonse
The article that was written about Dr. Paul and this poll is actually very good...

I think...
I think Bryan is going to address this on the website soon, he seemed to be a pretty decent guy on the phone. I think people are slowly catching on that we're not just the internet.
lol
When Paul's not an option voting for Tom is kinda fun...
"we fear change, especially nickels"
STOP!
You are ruining Ron Paul's reputation. My God, you actually called someone who is running a website with a completely insignificant poll on it that no one is going to pay attention to. Your actions have no positive effects, they only hinder Ron Paul's ability to reach the mainstream voters. For the sake of the nation, stop these ridiculous tactics.
What?
Your attacking someone for making a phone call? God help us all if we can't make phone-calls. Believe it or not there are mature people that are working for Ron Paul, and who can get their point across in a polite manner. Besides you don't know either one of them, or anything about their conversation I'm sure. It's always much better to ask about something before diving head first into a tyrade. It kind of makes you look silly in the end doesn't it. Hand spatted, we still love you, and we ALL want Ron Paul for President in '08.
Kindness works
Kindness always trumps when talking.
His phone number is readily available in the contact section of the website.
I called to ask him, politely, why the poll was structured the way it was.
I also let him know why I would make such a call because Ron Paul wins polls legitimately and is dismissed, for example the last debate.
In fact, if you let them know and be inquisitive he'll actually realize that the supporters are real and it's not just a small bunch of spammers like the mainstream wants him to believe.
It's not just some website of some random blogger, it's the Idaho Values Alliance website, big difference.
If he didn't want contact he would have had the 'contact' button on the left side with his email and phone number.
A phone call goes a long way, let's them know there's real support.
lighten up some, fezzler
It's OK. It was a polite call. No harm is done; in fact, what web site operator running a poll wouldn't like to see his site get some attention? It makes for an interesting story. As long as people are polite and not attacking anyone, there's no harm that will come from this. In fact I'll bet Bryan is checking out Ron Paul even more now than it sounds like he already must have been.
I do agree in the abstract that we need to not sweat the small stuff inordinately. I just don't see this as an example of getting upset. Most of the posts here are good natured. Let's just enjoy the moment as another example of our strength and thank the IVA for taking an interest in the election and taking notice of RP's strong support.

LOL, I still voted for Ron Paul. I just used the site's contact email address to do it.

I just got off the phone with Bryan...
I just got off the phone with Bryan Fischer and had an very polite chat with him. He said that in the first day Ron Paul had 91% of the vote and said that he took Ron Paul off for this poll to see if there was any other support out there. He also said that he expected some contact and that he wanted to make sure people from Idaho were voting in the polls.
Bryan also stated that he will acknowledge the massive support Ron Paul has gotten in a statement and that he will hold a third poll afterwards.
He states that he did not intend to get a reaction that he was censoring the Ron Paul vote at all.
If you would like to call Bryan and thank you/show him your support/ask further questions POLITELY then call him at:
(208) 841-2546
Nicely let him know that many of the voters for Tancredo are a protest vote because Ron Paul was excluded in this poll. An Email is no way as personal as talking to a voice, and he'll get the message that the support is real. If you're an Idahoan, let him know you support Ron Paul.
Again, I cannot emphasize the importance of being polite, even tempered, and open when you talk to him. When you call him, you are representing Ron Paul, and you attitude will reflect on Bryan his opinion of Ron Paul and his supporters.
It's actually not a protest
It's actually not a protest vote for me. If Ron dropped out. (heaven forbid) I would probably support Tom. I'll bet a lot of people feel the same way.
94% for Tancredo :-)
Just placed my vote - Tancredo is at 94%

Holy Poll Domination, Batman!
This just goes to show what kind of creativity and POWER this group can wield at the turn of a dime (lol). Just look at what's happened to Tommy T's results on the poll...LOL!
WOW
As a values voter here in Idaho, I went to my trusty website to see what they are saying about the presidential election since I had been hearing so much in the media these days about Mike Huckabee and what a great conservative he'd be for the values voter. Then I see this poll.... "Other than Ron Paul..." I have no idea who Ron Paul is, but he MUST be leading the race. So I did some checking and found out some things about him, and I can understand why now!!! Then I found this website! You guys are great, thanks for (accidentally) leading me to the best candidate this country has seen in years!
Now, all of the above is just a hypothetical. I have been a Ron Paul supporter now for about three months. But, you can see how OUR INFLUENCE might draw the unsuspecting voter when hacks such as these guys try to use THEIR influence.
These guys are so out of touch, and they just don't get it! Happily so!!
Welcome to the Ron Paul
Welcome to the Ron Paul campaign trenches, bransonforpaul!
Like you, I discovered Ron Paul and his message by "accident." I have NEVER been so excited about a presidential candidate before. I hope after reading up on Ron Paul you feel the same way too! :D

that comments on several paragraphs after reading only the first sentence. will everyone cut that out, and read the shit they comment on.
Remember to keep the emails civil
Just remember that we need to represent Dr Paul properly. We don't need to fan the "Paul supporters are loons" flames. Keep the emails factual, civil and courteous.

My Email.. All Concerned,
My Email..
All Concerned,
Could you explain to me why the GOP poll options only contain people that are going to continue an undeclared war? Am I in the wrong religion or what? Is your poll serious or a joke? Is it OK that that we continue to kill people? Why dont you just make the choice:
Warmonger anti-Christian choice #1
Warmonger anti-Christian choice #2
Warmonger anti-Christian choice #3
Warmonger anti-Christian choice #4
Do you understand that each choice you have are anti-christian? Yes, that included Huckabee.. You fail to remember what King George toughted in his election bid... "I'm a Christian" Sure, I judge him by his fruit.. he is not a Christian... I question if you are also?

Next it will be " other than Paul or Tancredo"
at the end it will be "other than Paul, Tancredo, and Rudy McRomney..."
New term for "the other guys"
"Rudy McRomneysonbee."
That includes Thompson and the Huckster, hehe
I like "Rudy McRompsonbee"
It's easier to say smoothly. :-)
This poll is hilarious. 93% when I voted a minute ago. :-D
I wouldn't be too tough on the poll takers; they are getting our guy's name out there! And the message is loud and clear. Think about it.

If this isn't worthy of press coverage......
I don't know what is! I don't know what provoked the Idahoans to label their poll - Other than Ron Paul, but that speaks volumes! Now, I'll be interested in see if the poll results are picked up in the press anywhere as to who wins, and I think it would be hillarious if they point out the "other than Ron Paul"............I'd love to hear that explained!

Ron actually said if given a choice he would vote for Tancredo, when we was on CNN with Wolf Blitzen. This was like about 2 weeks ago.
