* FORGET the Republicans!

Excellent article by a young journalism student at OU. Can't help but wonder if she is part of reason Athens Co. had highest RP vote, 12% in Ohio.

Please read and write to thank this young woman, email bottom of her article. Don't forget the DIGG too, either on the article or link below.

Forget the Republicans by Emily L. Mullin

Before I delve into the core of this column and its fundamental purpose, I must first preface by telling you a little bit about myself.

I am a student at Ohio University where I study journalism and political science. I write for the local newspaper as a campus reporter and am the vice president and acting president of the OU College Republicans. I was, up until recently, actively involved in the presidential campaign to elect Rep. Ron Paul for many months........................

She is dead wrong, the

She is dead wrong, the solution is not to give up what power she has and be even less of an influence. The solution is to recruit more supporters with her views and seize more power and oust the mindless party loyalists.

You can do nothing if you have no power to effect change. With all due respect the 3rd parties have proven her tactic is the wrong solution for they were born if this same kind of thinking and they have failed to effect meaningful change in several decades because have no power to do so. They are on the outside throwing rocks.

The Idea that the Republican party cannot be turned around has no basis in logic. It is an emotional response born of anger and or frustration. It is in fact relatively simple and much easier then most people realize if we will just get to work and do it.

We can do it with about 30 people, so what are we waiting for? Read my thread on this.

The Republican party must be taken over

from the inside. It's the only way to win. If you are a 3rd ticket you are on the out side. This needs to be an "inside job."

Never Relent!

Come on guys! This is not the time to quit the party! Consider this. If you came home from work one day and found a bunch of jerks making a mess of your house, would you pack your things and leave? Hell no! You'd grab a bat or something and beat those SOB's out. We have an excellent opportunity right now to do exactly that. I've heard by some estimates that as many as 75% of the Precinct Captain seats in the Republican party nationwide are sitting empty. No one ran for them. Now if we could put a Ron Paul supporter in every vacant seat. We would control the party from the bottom up. It's not rocket science. Granted, it won't put RP in office this year, but it would make all the difference in the world in a few years. I know many people who have given much of their money, and much of their time. I know people who will sacrifice to go to washington and march. But if you are not willing to call your local GOP headquarters and ask for an appointment to an empty Precinct Captain seat, then why bother. Why storm the fortress if you are not willing to occupy it?

Yes, without doubt this

Yes, without doubt this should be the offensive. But along with that, if there's a chance to get a constitutional thinking Independent to run for office and support getting them elected, we can have some quicker results. All will take time of course.

Trust in God, but tie your camel tight.

well, one thing that is

well, one thing that is being done is these many new participants getting into their local & GOP's. This is essential long as we're stuck with the two party monopoly. Can also find Independent's to run against them.

Trust in God, but tie your camel tight.

Sadly, this girl is not alone

Unfortunately, that is one thing that this campaign has done to many 1st time political participants. They find someone, finally, that they can enthusiastically support and they get shit on for supporting that person. (note im not saying this college editor was a 1st time political participant)

I am sure this bright girl will do quite alright for herself. But given the lack of choice in political parties and the entrenchment of the major two - what is a viable option?

Doing nothing is no course, voting for the continuation of the same bad policies is not an option, voting third party gets us nowhere - - what options do we have left? Free state project or something similar? Is that it? Man, Ron's new book cant hit the shelves fast enough.

The GOP took one for the Global Elitists

and will lay dead in the wake of an Obama victory. But remember, the foremost business at hand was to eliminate Ron Paul, so the GOP had to get somebody pushed up there quick, and certainly before Ron Paul could catch any wind. I fault his campaign staff for not anticipating this with a big effort in Iowa. Do you think the Federal Reserve would be creating $200 billion of playmoney for their wall street friends? Not a chance. This should put things in perspective. No Ron Paul........Party on WallStreet!
